but I should admit that climbing Everest mountain is easier for me to go through all these steps
if I want just to root the device and keep the current OS (5.0.1)
which steps can be omitted please? that may be easier?

Have you tried king root?

It's better to upgrade before rooting your device. Do you want a stock firmware from Samsung or a custom rom? Because Lollipop is not available yet for AT&T Galaxy S3.
Need help rooting samsung note 3 verizon stock 5.0 lollipop ( SM-N900V) tried flashing twrp from odin but not working also tried root dela vega that too! not working and..... tried flashing root dela vega .. it got failed and i also soft bricked my device ... if anyone can help me root my samsung note 3 verizon on lollipop 5.0 model no. sm-n900v that will be greatly appreciated:good:
