Hi, I noticed that Amazon's Prime video app does not support Nougat split screen multitasking. Whenever I go in split screen mode it stops the video as soon as I touch the other app in split screen mode.
Now what I want to know is, whether anyone has found a workaround for this?

I found that surprisingly when you are in splt screen node (in app overview long-press amazon prime and slide to top), the trick is to start video playback and almost instantly select the bottom window. Must be realy quick, I use both hands. Try a couple of times...

Hello,
Stock galaxy Note Pro 12.2 (Android 4.4.2)
When playing back video, the screen goes dark but the audio continues.
At first I thought this was a "Yahoo Screen" issue, as it was noticeable when my wife tried to watch the Dave Matthews' Band broadcast a few days ago, but then I noticed it was happening on regular video playback taken on the internal camera as well.
BUT, the picture returns when there are at least *3* fingers on the screen. 1 or 2 makes it flicker like there is some sort of a short, but 3 or more and the video shows up crystal clear and normal.
I really don't want to send the thing back to Samsung if I can avoid it, so any other suggestions not requiring an advanced EE degree would be appreciated. Thanks!
Have you tried a different videoplayer? Diceplayer, VLC...

So far I have only used the stock player, another player attached to some photo editing program, and the Yahoo! Screen app, but based on the behavior I would think it software related (doesn't change behavior based on how "hard" I press the screen, just how many places)
Hey
Just posting here in case anyone else is having this problem and has found a solution.
The problem is that once I set a youtube video into full screen, I cant get the video player controls to appear again when tapping the screen, meaning I can't seek or pause the video unless I press back to get to the small player. This only happens on my note 12.2 and not on my other devices running the same youtube version (nexus 5 and 7).
I have rooted and flashed the near stock rom from Gatsrom and am using CivZ kernel rev3.0
Uninstalling updates to the youtube app does fix the problem though, so it looks like it might be a problem specific to the note with the latest youtube, so I was wondering if anyone else has hit on this same glitch?
This happens on CivZ rom too, with CivZ kernel or stock kernel. Probably a YouTube glitch.
I am stock non rooted and it's happening to me too..Has to be a YT issue.

The Youtube app isn't adapted to work with screensizes above 11" yet. That's why.
Essentially what happens is the app is stretched and the HUD bugs out because of it.
Must be a regression in the newest version of the app then, since it used to work fine. I've sent feedback to Google regarding this via the youtube app.
Thanks for chiming in everyone!

Same problem here.
It's really irritating! When i enter the Youtube app from a link (in chrome) and then hit the full screen button, and then i want to pause the video, i need to hit the back button but that's immediately takes me back to last app (chrome).
i found out that if I want it to stay in Youtube app, i need to: press the link (in chrome or gmail app), lower the minimized video to the right bottom side of the screen, then enlarge the screen again, after all that i can hit the full screen button and if i want to pause i can hit the back button and it will not exit the app.
Oddly enough the interface can be forced to show up in full-screen mode using the play/pause media controls command. For example if one clicks the button on a pair of headphones with a play/pause button while in full-screen mode then the video will pause and controls show up on screen. As soon as the controls fade away due to the standard interface delay they cannot be brought back by screen touch gestures but the headphones button will bring them back.
Since I'm rooted and use tons of customizations, I've set up a custom gesture in GMD gesture control to invoke the media play/pause command as a work around to this issue in YouTube until it's fixed. I now simply tap and hold 5 fingers on the screen while YouTube is playing full-screen and the video pauses and Youtube displays the player interface.

I have the same problem both on Note Pro and Tab Pro. Very irritating.

I confirm that the problem is solved with version 6. You can get it from here as I did if you don't want to wait to roll out to your country's play store.

Hi,
I am using several apps where video's are posted like news videos. For instance NOS is a populair newsfeed app with videos in it. When viewing those videos they are played normal with the Samsung s6 Edge portraid stand. This is only a small part of the screen while the videos can be played on a pc for instalnce full screen.
So i turn the phone landscape and assume the the video will go landscape and full screen to but that isn;t the case it has never done that. The video keeps playing a small part of the screen.
The setting in Android is to turn the screen when the phone is turned so when holding the phone landscape the screen is also landscape. When i choose the camera and set it oin video that videoscreen is landscape so that is working good, but not within apps.
Does anyone now how to solve this..?

Videos that play in apps will only play the way the app wants them too. Some apps simply don't allow video rotation.
Ok thx. I had to know that myself....
Has anyone else notice the YouTube app is acting strange. Mainly with minimizing/ maximizing the video. When hitting the back button the video stays in place, the title bar underneath lowers and a large grey square appears under the video (that is still in place). Usually on my old phone the video would lower and minimize at the bottom of the app.
I peek a bit in this forum because I'm interested in picking up this phone.
Seems like HTC is using the same software base for the HTC 10, the stock Android 8 rom has the same issue
Same issue appears in various OEM amd devices. It started with on of the lasltest updates provided. Google has to fix that one. Nothing to do with the U12+ IMHO.

i noticed too, temporary solution :
before you press back or minimize the screen you need to exit the full screen mode first.
U can use youTube vanced

Works great.
Also no adds.

When watching YouTube my screen display for the video starts below the camera cut out instead of using the full display. Why is this?
It's also the same when watching Netflix
I figured it out I needed to go into display settings then full screen apps and change Netflix and YouTube from Auto to Full Screen
Are you asking why the video doesn't go edge to edge?
I'm not sure why by default but if you pinch the screen out it will fill the entire screen.
