LG G3 D850 Bricked - AT&T LG G3

Hi all,
I seem to have bricked my LG G3 when I was trying to install TWRP using Kingroot and Autorec MM. When I try and boot normally, I get flashing red and blue lights. When I try to boot into recovery, I get a flashing blue light with about a second in between flashes. When I boot into download mode, I get no flashing lights and Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 shows up under the Ports (COM & LPT) section in device manager. When trying to flash back to stock, I get the error "Model Information Check FAIL!". I've read that this tool can be finicky, so I tried different USB ports, cables, compatibility modes, and even installed Win7 on a different partition (I'm on 10).
Anyone have any ideas on where to go from here? The assistance is much appreciated.

The 9008 thing in device manager means your hard bricked or semi bricked. You'll have to put it on boarddiag mode by shorting 2 separate pins there's a guide in the general section.

This is a bit off topic, but would you happen to know where I could download the latest stable release of CM13 for the G3 d850? CM appears to have shut down their mirrors since they killed off development in December.
If you have any other recommendations for G3 ROMs, I'd be open to those as well.

You'd be better off creating a new thread on this. But to me I'll always recommend stock based Roms over CM due to random issues. But that's me personally.

[Q] Stuck in download mode, FlashTool fails with missing model information (BRICKED?)

My LG G2 D800 (AT&T) 32 GB is stuck in download mode and I cannot flash the stock ROM to it.
I can't get out of download mode no matter how I try to press keys at boot, etc. -- just a black screen with the LG logo.
adb devices returns no devices found.
Shows in Windows Device Manager as "LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM4)."
Flash Tool finds my device, but when I try to flash (using dll C:\Users\SAdra\Downloads\LGD800_20130904_LGFLASHv160.dll and S/W LGD800AT-01-V10O-310-410-OCT-19-2013+0.tot), it fails immediately and says "Model Information Check Fail!"
It shows "IMEI : " and "Model : ". That's really scary if that information has truly disappeared (not sure how that could have happened though). I at least have the IMEI on a sticker on the back.
I used ioroot to successfully enter root mode, so I should have an EFS backup, but I don't know how to recover it since I'm in download mode and the only tool I have to work with is the LG FlashTool, which isn't happy with me right now. I've tried key combinations but I can't seem to enter recovery mode or fastboot or anything from here.
Previously I was stuck in a fastboot loop but then I re-flashed most of the stock partitions from (downloads.codefi.re 10d_partitions directory under D800 Stock_Firmware) -- I remember doing this for aboot, boot, dbi, laf, modem, recovery, and abl1 -- I was following some dumb forum post in which someone recommended doing that -- duhh...
I would be happy at this point if I could get back into my fastboot loop -- at least I could flash stuff from there.
What got me into the fastboot loop in the first place was flashing the BeanStalk ROM (it was a two-part thing where you were supposed to first flash the main ROM and then flash a device-specific patch -- well, the initial ROM flash got me into the fastboot loop).
Any recommendations? If I were to use Linux, would I have any other options -- I've seen people mention flashing partitions using dd?
At this point I'm about ready to take it in to AT&T (still under warranty / in contract) and beg for help, although I know I've obviously voided my warranty by rooting it.
I've seen a few older threads where people are stuck in download mode and have the same "model information" error in FlashTool, and it seems nobody ever replies to those threads, so I think I'm out of luck. If anybody has gone through this or has any idea what I can do, I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
I have the same problem with my G2. I am stuck at the LG logo. No recovery and download mode stuck at the dots. Phone is recognized (while its showing the LG logo) on the control panel as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial port (41) and LGE AndroidNet USB modem. I have tried all tutorials (hard resets, linux etc) I found but nothing worked. Anyone with suggestions???
thanks

I'm in the same situation. Flashed the wrong rom and now stuck at lg logo. Lg flash tool keeps erroring out with mismatch model numbers. The universal file also errors out. Anyone have a way to save it? I even hex edited the files and ended up with mismatched bin number. I feel I'm so close. Lg flash tool just keeps getting confused. Is it a full brick and a lost cause?

Thanks for the suggestion but it still didn't work. Here are pics for what's happening.
1.) It's an at&t g2.
2.) Here's the wrong ROM that was flashed. (Cloudy)
3.) This is the error I Gerry from lgflashtool. (Wrong model)
4.) If I use the alternate DLL in op post then this is the error. (Crossdll)
I just can't get it to unbrick. Any other suggestions I'm site would help a ton of other people. Thanks in advance!

In the 2nd pic it says f320l but in 3rd pic it says d801 T-Mobile and firmware version reads 20e, if it is an at&t phone there is only 20c tot and dll available now, so if u could go back to stock recovery and clean everything and then download 20c firmware and dll u should be good to go. If u still cant flash 20c firmware try 20d not 20o as it 20d is what my g2 came with first.

Flashed wrong bootstack/modem, Pls HELP unbrick m8

Hi there,
I accidentally flashed (inside twrp) my HTC m8 with a bootstack/modem of a different phone (39a,LG G2). I'm pretty embarrassed about it, didn't mean to do it...I thought I was following instructions to install a new rom for the m8,except I was in the wrong forum..
details: in TWRP I flashed the wrong file, then went on to install a new rom and an error appeared: this is not vs980, this device is m8wl...so I thought, what? strange....
I turned off the phone (without realizing yet what happened. Sorry, stressful couple of weeks) and when I tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't. No matter how long I held the power button, or power and vol down. It will not go in download mode, neither detect it is plugged in to charger or a computer. Basically totally off without any response.
My question: is there any way possible to resuscitate this phone? please help me! any advice is appreciated.
before I had the m8 with s-off,rooted,with a 5.1 rom installed.
Thank you in advance!!!

thanks for the help so far guys!
Here's another funny thing. After a few attempts of plugging it in to a computer, it was recognized and it showed up in the device manager. The phones still did not turn on though. Additionally it seems that the phone is seen as an LG model (even though it's not), but I am not sure yet. I will get the HTC drivers installed, and if it doesn't work, I will try the LG drivers.
by the way, isn't there a way to flash the correct modem/bootstack with ones of those kits? i also remember from downloading the wrong LG G2 modem/bootstack that it didn't come with fastboot in it.
I will try a few things and report it back.
thanks again,

If your device doesn't light the power button but for a single flash when you try to power it on your board is toast.
If it shows up in device manager as a qusb bulk device the board is toast.

I got it to be recognized on a computer again, and windows installs a driver. The name of the device is forge hs-usb qdloader 9008.
I tried the all in one 2.0 kit, adb sideload, etc but anything I try I get a "device not found".
I think I am giving up unless someone finds a way to unbrick this kind of severe problem in the future. I also researched a bit on google, and there's a way to unbrick the LG G2 when it's seen as forge hs-usb qdloader 9008, which is known as a board unbrick. I found nothing for the HTC m8 though.
We tried all we could Thanks all for the help, it's very much appreciated! You guys are the best and this forum is awesome. I also ordered a new phone...and I will root it too

Might be completely wrong on this.
Wouldn't he be able to JTAG the appropriate boot image back onto the device?
Also, I know we had a hard brick recovery for the S3 back in the day. Worked consistently on full hard brick's.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581166
Isn't it possible to dump a debrick image from a working device and follow the guide with that? I know the two devices are completely different, but the premise is the same.
My technical know-how isn't anywhere near your level, just thought I'd throw these ideas out there is case it hasn't been thought of yet. I'd be happy to put together a guide on how to do this if it can work on the M8.

LG G3 D855 32 GB won't turn on after flasing stock rom

Hi
I had the standard kitkat factory rom installed in my g3.I rooted the phone installed the twrp recovery, everything worked fine. Then I downloaded the stock lollipop rom for lg g3 d855 and flashed it through the TWRP recovery. During installation it formated the previous system. I rebooted the phone and from that moment it is not turning on. In removed the battery several times, tried to charge it , it shows no response. When I connect it with a computer then a com port is added in the device manager which shows phone is showing some response.
kindly help me regarding this issue.

Did you do a full wipe before you flashed? Can you access TWRP? Can you access Download Mode? Please provide more info. Although I know nothing about unbricking devices, maybe someone with the right experience can help you, but you should give as much info and details as possible.
If you can still access in TWRP you can flash a custom ROM

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 SGH-I497 AT&T Bricked!

Hi all,
I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 SGH-I497 (don't forget, its that specific model) that I recently tried to flash a Kernel through CWM recovery. Unfortunately, by the time I realized I shouldn't do such a thing, it was too late and I pressed the wrong button to select "go back". Now my device is stuck in what I would assume is a boot loop, without any screen output. However, I can turn the tab off and my computer will make the "disconnect" noise, alike when a flash drive/USB is unplugged. It also makes a "connect" noise when the tab turns itself back on less than 5 seconds later. Since I need an IMEI number for the KIES firmware reset, I cannot fix this with KIES, as I have no access to my android OS and it is not written on the back plate (for some ungodly reason, thanks Samsung!) I do have an SD card and a cable, and also have ODIN installed, so any suggestions would be great Honestly I don't think it can get any more F*cked right now, so if you guys have a clue on what to start with, shoot!
Also, if ANYONE has a way to find the IMEI number, It would be VERY, VERY appreciated!~
Thanks!
-Tekk

flashing a custom kernel that is not meant for the same device, is fatal in most of the cases. still if your device can get into either recovery or download mode. praise the lord.
there is a detailed guide in my signature below, where I had tried explaining most of the parts.

Help with unbricking a hardbricked H631

I bricked mine and used LG Bridge to get to Lollipop and then I took the OTA to Marshmallow

I kinda am stuck in this position too. Does LG bridge pick it up in this mode? Did you have that problem? I've been trying and it seems the only thing I can find is QPST using QFIL but then I can't seem to transfer the data and get an error about Sahara not being able to transfer the data over.

I have the MetroPCS version and totally screwed up messing around with something. I had no recovery. I had to use one of the methods to get it back up and running.
If you have the Tmobile or Metro version, you should be fine.
Did you have the same QDLoader 9008 issue?
LG Bridge doesn't appear to be working for me as it's not even detected.
Try LG Flash tool. That can get you back to Lollipop.

Use a different USB cable. That's what happened to me. I had to try every single USB cable in my house, even from other phones.
AFAIK, in order to fix a hard bricked (Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008) lg stylo we need make something like this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...nbrick-g-stylo-ls770-qualcomm-hs-usb-t3368269) but for the H631/MS631 variant.
Can some of you look at THIS method used on LG V10 TMO variant for unbricking Qualcomm 9008?
I posted a thread HERE with the instructions from the user that created the backup and method to unbrick.
Hi, have the same qualcomm 9008 issue aftet kdz, so is there any solution?
So the brick is so bricked you can't even get to download mode.
Lg h631 hardbricked
Please any solution yet on this thread? I have had the same issue for a year now.
LGMS631 (MetroPCS LG G Stylo) Root/Unbrick/Recovery
So, I think I've managed to salvage my bricked Stylo, I somehow also managed to root my Fiance's LG G Stylo that's on the 6.0 update...
Since I can't find any ways to fix this problem on the internet I'll post what I did here so hopefully I can get some other people out of deep water with their phone.
Here is the thread I made I don't think it will work for a hardbrick, but it might be worth a shot..
LGMS631 MetroPCS LG G Stylo Backup (Unbrick/Root) Android 6.0
That won't work because your phone still works. You can boot past the 9008 mode.
So basically the phone is useless and can't be brought back to life at this point
I'm in the same position, flashed a lollipop kdz on a marshmallow and it effectively trashed the emmc. Without an insider leaking signed programmer and flasher mbns, flashing via sahara is not possible. For the moment, you need one of those expensive 20pin JTAG boxes and documentation for the ISP points(I can't find this info, it's paywalled). Under the shield facing the back of the phone is a header that may be for JTAG, but I haven't bothered probing as I don't think it's practical for unbricking.
