Hello Guys,
I have a karbonn sparkle V and its internal sd got corrupted during the ota update
so i tried to flash stock rom via sp tools but my devices wasn't being recognized on pc, even though I tried several different drivers.
so I tried fastboot method and while I was following the steps, I accidently used the
Code:
fastboot reboot
command
just after I used
Code:
fastboot erase bootloader
and now my device is without bootloader an nothing is happening. SO I need your help.
please someone generate the emmc image of your karbonn sparkle v
by going in terminal emulator and typing the following commands
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/external_sd/emmc.img bs=1M count=200
above will create a file named emmc.img of about 200 mb in the sdcard
Please post that image in google drive or any file hosting site.
please help me on this
Thanks

I had a hard bricked sparkle v too, which is now completely dead. But I used to flash whole emmc using sp tools, and I can provide you with the link to full firmware file, which you can use to flash the emmc.
Here is the firmware - http://www.mediafire.com/file/uqdnsantv1ytqfx/Karbonn_Sparkle_V_1783956_Lollipop.zip (This is not a recovery flashable file)
Here are instructions - https://androidmtk.com/flash-stock-rom-using-smart-phone-flash-tool
In case you need individual files from firmware or any help regarding this then let me know.

returning to 5.1.1 - after marshmellow update - help please

Hello good people of xda,
I recently like less then 2 weeks bought my first tablet, the NVidia shield k1 and I loved it. great gaming experience, support for my 64gb card, smooth work, good battery life but... since I updated to 6.0 all of that is gone.
My sd card can no longer by used to move apps too, formatting it to internal storage cause the tablet to "corrupt" my card.
Battery is dyeing like there is no tomorrow, tablet feel much less responsive, the list can go on and on.
Hence I'm looking for help and advice. I want to go back to 5.1 lollipop OS:
- is there anyway to make a rollback officially?
- what tools I would need (would I need to root my device or not??
- will rolling back void my warranty ?
I would appreciate the help on this matter, as since the update my tablet became a 200 dollars tray to carry drink around, and that is not cool at all (shame on you nvdia!!)
many thanks
Get your firmware version here :
https://developer.nvidia.com/shield-open-source
Then fallow this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399737
Unlock bootloader
And instal your firmware by those commands :
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot reboot
Done!
I just rollback on K1 from 6.0 update to 5.1.1

You should try a factory reset first. Whatever method you use to go back to 5.1, you have to do a clean install, so, why no try a factory reset first?
Doing a factory restore doesn't reset the android version is just resets it back to fresh with android 6.0
What firmaware are you using. For k1 there is only extract-nv-recovery-image-shield-tablet-sb_na_wf-37154_590.0364
It`s correct?

Very simple way to roll back from 6.0
1) Get the software here :
https://developer.nvidia.com/shield-open-source
2) Unzip it and you will get a file_name.sh
2)Unlock your device using this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2399737
Unlock bootloader
3) Install cygwin to unpack the firmware you downloaded from 1)
use thiscommand bash ./File_name.sh
4) Add ADB and Fastboot path to your windows system path
5) where you unpacked the file_name.sh there should be a flash-all.bat
run it wait for it to finish and you should have a shield k1 back to factory with 5.1.1 installed
If you face any problem on the steps above you can always have a look at this tutorial for rooting your device because they differ very little from install a custom ROM.
http://nvidiashieldzone.com/index.p...tablet-root/root-shield-tablet-v2-1-lollipop/
I found with any ROM, if I factory reset than got to recovery, than default wipe, than load new ROM but start fresh with Google apps 1 at a time. Sometimes reboot after each app especially if it is a new rom or updated rom in this case being marshmallow. This has usually solved issues for me.

thnx bro, I just watched someone unpacking the sh file on youtube via Linux, So thankfully i succeeded in unpacking the sh file on my kubuntu. At the moment I have a folder with 8 files that i unpacked from the original SH file.
I already installed ADB and Fastboot via the Minimal ADB/Fastboot programme, so after I unlock the bootloader via ADB/fastboot programme, do I only need to go to the folder where I exctracted the SH files and press on the flash-all.bat file ?

right click on flash-all.bat and click on "edit" you can find those lines with fastboot then started on order. After that reboot it. It will take 15' or longer to go to instructions screen.

Try this tutorial, it helped me aswell: Sorry I cannot paste links so just google "how to geek how to use linux commands in windows with cygwin"
Guys, I followed every step in the forementioned guides and how-tos but I get always stuck with the NVIDIA/Android bootscreen (the logo). I downloaded and extracted the Linux folder and executed the flash-all.bat
Did this process several times now. Often after the flash if I go to recovery it is saying "cannot mount cache". Read something it has to do with the KitKat -> Lollipop upgrade and a cache.img is needed?
I just don't get why everybody else just don't have this problem though I did exactly the same steps... btw, this is an European / German device... but I don't think this is the problem?
Thanks
thanks for the links, but it still does not tell you how to unpack the file. Are their any other links you can give me?

[Request] EMMC backup of G6-U10 (tutorials included)

Hi, my G6-U10 is hard bricked and has gone to QDLoader 9008 mode so i cant go to recovery, fastboot, adb mode .
i need EMMC image of a similare device (G6-U10) so i can fix it following instructions in this thread .
i dont need whole EMMC image, just first 100-200 MB .
to extract EMMC, you need to be on stock rom with root access.
to do so:
1. Enable "USB debugging" in "Developer Options". then connect your device to Windows PC.
2. download and extract ADB. then run the following command through CMD:
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/EMMC.img bs=100m count=1
note that you must enter each row separately and confirm the dialogs appeared on your device screen to grant root and adb access for pc. the option bs=100m mean that the dd command will only extract first 100MB of EMMC. and FYI, this file is only backup from system partition, not from any private files, no need to worry.
the extracted file will be in internal SD, named EMMC.img , compress it in ZIP or RAR so it will have much less size, then send it here to solve many people's problems. anybody does that, i'll appreciate.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks bro, but it's just 100bytes, not 100Mbytes. i think you used bs=100 instead of bs=100m
please consider reuploading , you are my saviour
info on the progress:
I got EMMC image thanks to @washichi :good: (download it from attachments).
then i could finally wake my device up, in the fastboot and recovery, following instructions in this thread(first post).
i can go into Fastboot mode but though i had unlocked bootloader (before), but i can only flash recovery, system(partly) and boot partitions. other partitions give me error ((Remote: Not Allowed)).
the only recovery that i could go into, was the latest TWRP 3 . in recovery i can even connect my device in MTP mode to pc and see files on the internal SD! but i was not successful with flashing roms, it always gives me error mounting cache, system, data. ADB mode is also accessible, used adb sideload to flash rom, but it didnt worked too!
i think part of internal SD is damaged and need to be fixed somehow. still havent found out how.
so, for guys who are having problems similar to me or "Internal Storage Damaged blah blah" i recommend trying to follow these steps to see if their internal SD is still flashable or not:
1. Download an official Rom for your device and unpack it using HuaweiUpdateExtractor.
2. download and extract latest (at least 1.0.32) fastboot in the same folder as extracted huawei IMG files are (Gush bless me! there's too much grammatical erros in my texts )
3. connect your device in fastboot mode (instructions above).
4. go to the directory where all extracted files place. Hold shift and right click on empty space, chose "Open command window here".
Note: you must have an unlocked bootloader to be able to continue, type this command to see if its unlocked:
Code:
fastboot oem get-bootinfo
if you're unlocked, then continue reading, if not, i dont think there is a way to find unlock key for your device.even DC unlocker cant recognize your device in fastboot and adb.
5. now that you know you have an unlocked BL, type these commands one bye one:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash aboot aboot.img
fastboot flash tz tz.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot flash [COLOR="RoyalBlue"]XXX [/COLOR][COLOR="SeaGreen"]XXX[/COLOR].img
as i said before, i could only flash 3 partitions with success. but if you where able to flash all parts with success, your extremely have a chance to revive your device. at last, type fastboot reboot to see if you boot up successfully, if not, you will go again in fastboot mode or recovery mode.
for me, default recovery mode just freezes, so i flashed TWRP 3 instead of default recovery. you can try that too.
one more thing: you might not be successful to reboot into recovery, you must restart until you succeed. if you stuck in freezed recovery, open the device back, unscrew the little steel plate (it has 2 screws) and dettach the battery cord, wait 3 secs, re-attach it. i have done it more than 300 times now i dont even know where is the steel plate
FYI, EMMC image in the attachment is for G6-U10 only and probably will not work for other G6 models. if you want G6-L11 emmc, i can share it for you.
if anything was not clear for you, ask me.
@bugggmenot Everytime i insert the sd card and try to enter fastboot mode by holding the Volume+, the PC keeps beeping and refreshing the device manager, tho i can't see any hardware detected. The phone isn't recognizable as fastboot device and the LED is lighting in a blue color.
Any ideas?

Do as follows:
1. detach the battery and retach it again.
2. connect the device to pc WITHOUT holding any buttons.
3. if you go into fastboot mode, you will see a blue "Fastboot mode" in middle of texts (and Blue LED).
4. type in cmd: fastboot devices
if your device is listed, you are good to go for flashing procedure.
oh and one more important thing: install fastboot and adb drivers. it's a global driver not device specific, so install any you van find ( sorry I can't Google it for you right now).

I got it to the progress you did. Was able to flash only boot.img recovery.img and like 950MB of system.img. Yet smth makes me to think that everything i do flash is being flashed in the SDcard memory not in the internal one, is it supposed to be like that?
Edit1: Tried to flash an update.zip which i made by using huawei tools extractor from the stock recovery but the verification aborted the update. Tried with CWM by using adb sideload but there was some error while sending, also tried with TWRP which seems to erase its memory everytime when i restart the phone, the adb sideload doesnt work and couldn't found the flashable zip after i pushed it in by using adb

i dont think so.
i thought like you, but to test it i went to TWRP recovery and removed SD card, Formated SD (via MiniTool Partition) and reinserted SD into device. at this level , device cant recognize SD anymore, so i reformatted SD via TWRP (i dont remember the exact path, sorry), and this time SD appeared in PC ! so i simply put flashable SlimStock and flashed it via TWRP. but it exactly took the time that it had taken before when i tried to flash SlimStock via Sideload. and in both ways, it takes about 30 min to pass the system.img flashing ! so this can be a proof that in the both ways, images are being flashed on the internal SD, not ExSD.
any way, at this point it seems that we cannot go any further. but who knows? we made a dead device into TWRP, so why not...

Well i did try flashing img files via TWRP but it allows me to modify just recovery or boot partition. Tried also making flashable zip of the partition to run it from CWM but i get stuck.
I also tried

Code:

but i recieve 3 dots, maybe i should be more patient next time to see what will happen.

Why not try to repartition your device?
You can you the parted binary (google will find it) and put it on your /sdcard or / (the root folder). NOT your internald memory or any other partition thats your EMMC.
Now umount ALL partitions in recovery, except for the external sdcard. Go to the commandline in the recovery and cd to the parted binary. Now typ 'parted /dev/block/mmcblk0'.
Type 'print' to see your partition table.
You can now modify your partition table (only ext2 and fat32 partitions support, BUT you can format it whit your recovery soo it will be ext4. (Dont check RM format in settings!).
Hope this will fix the flashing problem.

Urgent Help needed G920F

Hello
I'm hoping someone can help me.
I tried to flash my phone but everything is now gone, software AND all system files.
When I plug my phone into my laptop there are no folders on my phone at all, no root directory, NOTHING. Everything is wiped.
The only thing my phone will do is boot to TWRP or Recovery, that's it. TWRP side load does not work.
Flashing through ODIN does not work except to flash bootloader, modem, PIT, etc but nothing else will flash through ODIN.
The phone was running MM 6.0.1. Can anyone tell me how to at least get the root directory folders back on my device please?
Thanks very much.
Had the same problem for me
The only solution i found easier was to copy a ROM say Xtrestolite in device via ADB
Here is what i did
Make sure samsung USB drivers are installed
Now install this awesome 15 sec ADB and drivers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118#post48915118
Thanks to @Snoop05
Now boot into TWRP recovery.
Connect a micro-USB cable from your Android device to your computer.
If you have Windows, open Device Manager and check for “SAMSUNG Android ADB Interface”. or something similar
downlooad fastboot.zip and unzip. You should get a folder called “fastboot” in your Downloads folder with everything you need for all Windows.
Here is the download link DOWNLOAD
rename the ROM to 1.zip and paste it into the fastboot folder.
make sure the fastboot folder is located like this
C:\Users\<username>\Downloads\fastboot
open cmd.exe and don't run it as administrator
Use the following commands
Code:
cd Downloads
Code:
cd fastboot
Code:
adb devices
You should see your Android device serial number along with “recovery”. If you see that, you are good to go.
use this command to copy the file
Code:
adb push 1.zip /sdcard/

Had the same problem for me
The only solution i found easier was to copy a ROM say Xtrestolite in device via ADB
Here is what i did
Make sure samsung USB drivers are installed
Now install this awesome 15 sec ADB and drivers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118#post48915118
Thanks to @Snoop05
Now boot into TWRP recovery.
Connect a micro-USB cable from your Android device to your computer.
If you have Windows, open Device Manager and check for “SAMSUNG Android ADB Interface”. or something similar
downlooad fastboot.zip and unzip. You should get a folder called “fastboot” in your Downloads folder with everything you need for all Windows.
Here is the download link DOWNLOAD
rename the ROM to 1.zip and paste it into the fastboot folder.
make sure the fastboot folder is located like this
C:\Users\<username>\Downloads\fastboot
open cmd.exe and don't run it as administrator
Use the following commands
Code:
cd Downloads
Code:
cd fastboot
Code:
adb devices
You should see your Android device serial number along with “recovery”. If you see that, you are good to go.
use this command to copy the file
Code:
adb push 1.zip /sdcard/
That’s it! The files should copy over. Once that’s done, simply install the ROM zip file (1.zip) on your TWRP

Thats what i'm trying to do but there is NO folder structure on my phone at all. The rom installs, says complete but ADB still shows 20% remaining. The phone reboots then gets stuck in an invalid argument loop in TWRP.
My problem is there is NO file structure on my phone, no folders at all, no Android system structure, do you see what i mean? How can i first create the root directory structure on my phone?

BTW i copied ROM to my S6 (using above mentioned method) and flashed it from TWRP there
Then i got file directories
If flashing ROM from recovery does not help
Odin is the only chance left for you

99.9% of the time flashing has nothing to do with IMEI
Please check by using *#06# code in dialer
Check if IMEI shows up there
In case you have erased you efs (IMEI)
A previous backup of efs can help

Thank you.
Sorry but I think I have erased my previous EFS. When I hit *#06# the imei comes up as 350000000000006. I don't think the original imei is stored anywhere in the phone.
Is there a way to re-insert the imei number with a PC? Can I get an EFS for the same model or edit my current EFS with correct imei?
Thanks for your help I really appreciate it.

Make sure you always backup EFS first after rooting
But in your case you haven't done that
Sorry i never had an issue with EFS like this so never got involved in much of efs stuff
But i suggest you to not touch this efs folder untill you are completely aware of ehat you are doing
I suggest you to return to 5.1.1 by flashing stock ROM from sammobile via Odin and see if it helps
Otherwise There is always this helpful xda community for you so do a search about this efs issue (as there are methods to get i back by writing it back to device) or post a question in the right place so you can find some help
Have a great day

Acer Predator 8 TWRP 3.0.2

TWRP 3.0.2 for Acer Predator 8 ported by Ruben. - If you like my work please donate here, it will also give me a boost to make more things for this device : https://www.paypal.me/RubenCraveiro
----------- -----------
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ROOTING AND UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER:
After flashing TWRP 3.0.2, use the SuperSU 2.46 flashable zip, do NOT use latest version or will result in a bootloop. Good Luck and have fun with rooting. Unlocking bootloader will delete all your data, so please make a backup first. Thank you.
----------- -----------
CREDITS
And also, before anything i would like to say thanks to @arjaylzo for telling me the name of a device with TWRP which helped making this update possible.
REQUIREMENTS
1- Fastboot/ADB Drivers and ADB folder
For drivers: http://adbdriver.com - Download ADB Driver Installer (universal) from the website, extract it, connect device it should detect device(if not, enable USB Debugging and reconnect), and press install, it should install drivers.
For ADB Folder: download this and extract to your main drive(C:/): https://goo.gl/ZTrfBb
2- Unlocked Bootloader (you need requirement 1 to do this)
Instructions for Unlocking bootloader: Go on settings, about device, press build version several times till it says your a developer, go back to settings, press Developer Options, and enable OEM Unlocking. Power off, then press at same time Power and Vol+ button, then connect to pc and open a cmd and write cd c:\\adb and write fastboot oem unlock, then accept the prompt it will give on tablet, and follow the rest of the steps.
----------- -----------
New TWRP bugfix update! Now you can flash stock rom on TWRP without bricking! Download Page updated!
----------- -----------
BUGS:
1- adb shell command needs to be sent before system partition is mounted or it will give an error, after doing adb shell you can mount system and do all the modifications you need.
2- You cant flash any img on twrp it gives an error, im trying to fix.
3- Backups do work, but everytime twrp restarts, the device name seems to change (which means that on /TWRP/BACKUPS/devicename/backupsinside/ changes every reboot so you have to go get the backup inside the old devicename folder and put on the new devicename folder).
----------- ADITIONAL NOTES -----------
Im leaving an unsecured boot image because system seems not want to boot android if anything seems changed. So please if system does not boot after flashing twrp/rooting, flash the unsecured boot img on fastboot
----------- -----------
Steps TO INSTALL TWRP AND ROOT
1. Download and extract the files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxzG5iupOOSKNTdlRC1Wd0VmTlk/view?usp=drivesdk
2. Power off the tablet.
3. Enter fastboot mode by pressing the power button while holding down Vol -
4. Open up command prompt and navigate to the directory where fastboot.exe is located.

C:\adb is where my adb and fastboot commands are.. on the downloaded files from Step 1 only the SuperSU zip is needed on the tablet so that you can flash it later on with twrp, the rest you leave on pc and use fastboot to flash TWRP, unsecured boot image, etc...

make sure you didnt put a folder inside the adb folder instead of the actual file and make sure your writing the right name of the file..

If you flash stock rom, i think you have to reinstall stock recovery, the rom itself already brings stock boot.. after flashing stock recovery it should boot since no modifications have happend

On step 4 You need the fastboot files, (adb & fastboot) just search how to install adb and fastboot drivers, choose the directory where to install them and place the needed files inside that folder and open a command prompt on that folder so you can flash the files.

That means adb drivers arent corrently installed, but i can see you have the folder with adb, all you have to now is download this(drivers): http://dl.adbdriver.com/upload/adbdriver.zip
Extract and open the software eith the tablet plugged in, it should tell of drivers is installer properly or not, and if not you can install, after installing it should work on the cmd the commands..

[TWRP][FAIL TO FLASH] TWRP.img file don't work

Hello!
I'm stuck trying to flash TWRP into my devices and hoping now to maybe get some help figuring this out.
My devices is
LG Nexus 5, D821, Android 6.0.1
OnePlus 3T, A3003, OxygenOS 5.0, Android 8.0.0
I wanting to flah them both with TWRP Recovery, I've followed the tutorials for each phone from the links below
LG Nexus 5
https://forum.xda-developers.com/go...ide-nexus-5-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t2507905
OnePlus 3T
http://www.teamandroid.com/2017/02/24/install-oneplus-3t-twrp-3-0-3-recovery-complete-guide/2/
I have installed the android studio for my PC and downloaded the neccesary tools to make this work as "Android SDK Platform-Tools", "Android SDK Tools", "Google USB Driver". I have unlocked the bootloader on both phones and downloaded the latest TWRP.img file for each phone from
LG Nexus 5
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/hammerhead/
OnePlus 3T
https://eu.dl.twrp.me/oneplus3t/
I've located each file in the same directory as adb and fastboot. The problem for me now is when I'm in command prompt and typing the following command
"cd Desktop/android-sdk-windows/platform-tools/fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
I get the following text
"error: cannot load 'recovery.img': No such file or directory"
I have tried to download older twrp files and also from other pages but the issue remians. And when I'm in windows and trying to open the .img file I get a window that says
"It is not possible to mount the file"
"The Disc Image file is corrupted"
How can I solve this issue? Please Help
I've located each file in the same directory as adb and fastboot.

You mean your recovery.img is placed in your platforms-tools folder?
If so, try providing the full path to the recovery image in your command, for example:
Code:
cd Desktop/android-sdk-windows/platform-tools/fastboot flash recovery Desktop/android-sdk-windows/platform-tools//recovery.img
Also, I believe you need to reboot into bootloader before flashing the recovery, if you aren't aware already.
