Is Mate 9 really learning? I believe so - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

Is the Mate 9 claim of "learning" your habits really true? It seems like mine has learned my habits in just a few days. Here is what I noticed.
When i leave work and head to the golf course, if I remember, I would usually turn off my wi-fi to save battery. Then, when I get home, I would turn it back on.
After having done that for a few days, I noticed that for the past 2 days now, when I leave work, my wi-fi would be off. At first I thought, hmm, I guess I turned it off. But today, I made sure I did not and once I left work, indeed my wi-fi turned off. When I got home, my wi-fi turned back on without any inputs from me.
Not sure if that is designed like that, or, it's really the phone learning my habits?
Anyone else experience your phone "learning" your habits yet?

That's what wifi+ is all about

Waoovv , also noticing that my phone close needless apps (which i used rarely) in backround about my using habits. But, i cannot disable me and i turn on or turn off manuelly current apps

Fuze became very hot (warm); turned it off; what do I do?

Colleagues,
I noticed today that my Fuze was very hot when I pulled it out of the pouch. It was functional, but I immediately shut it off. I have had it for a month and this is the first time it has happened.
What should I do?
Best regards.
do u have wifi on? that would always heat up my kaiser.
have you flashed it recently?
reaverclan,
No, I only have Phone on and Data Connection on.
overhaulengines,
No, stock ROM. I have not wanted to put in another ROM until I had the phone for a little while longer precisely in case anything went wrong with it and wouldn't loose the warranty.
I turned it back on and it is staying under normal temperature but I don't know if it will happen again. Any other ideas as to why this happened or what else can I check?
If you dare to measure the battery drain it would get us closer to the answers
The fuze tends to do that. Especially with data connection on. If you were doing anything data intensive it should warm up. I actually had a phone call while the device was charging this morning and the phone became really warm. But thats normal. Dont worry about it too much.
I guess I'll have to keep an eye on it to see if does it again.
yeah if it is using data it will definitely heat up. the gps should make it heat up too.
how hot is hot?
The phone does get warm when you're using it...this is by design. It is even mentioned in the manual.

[Q] SOD + slight crackling?

So I used my TF last night, put it in the dock this morning and brought it to work. Pull it out and it won't turn on. I think crap - finally got the dreaded sleep of death. However, mine won't turn on at all. Further, if I hold the power button down for about 9 seconds, there is a distinct and repeatable staticky/crackling sound coming from the webcam area. Thoughts?
Ouch, I have only had the sodding SoD error, but never sounds like that. It almost sounds like electrical shorts if something is crackling like that.
Well, fortunately American TV is going to let me return this at 7 days (5 day return policy - seriously?). I think I'm going to sit on the sidelines about tablets moving forward. Absolutely loved this while it worked, but unfortunately not shocked at all when it didn't today. Cheers to you who have stronger early adopter stomachs than me.
From what I have read, a lot of people have had the crackling/popping issue when the device powers on, and it seems to be the camera auto focusing, or turning on, or something of that nature.

Major battery loss while phone was turned off...?!

Hii im new to this forum... Just joined as i wanted to see if this has happened to anyone elses sensation.
The other day i had my phone in my pocket at work and i felt it was getting really hot on my leg! Opened up the task killer thinking i must of left something running... But nope, everything was normal! My battery had gone from full to 66% in under a hour and i hadnt even used it!! So knowing that i still had 13hrs left on my shift and no charger with me, i turned it off and put it in my locker.
Couple of hours later i go back to get my phone and im shocked to feel that it was red hot even though it was turned off. My battery was now at 13%.... Whats that about?!
This hasent happened since and hopefully wont again. Anyone else has this problem?
Im also abit worried about the heat my screen gives off when im doing simple things like browsing the web for over half an hour.
Anyway... Essay over
Turn "fasboot" off. Your phone wasn't off...just in "sleep mode". I assume.
This same exact thing happened with my G2X when I downloaded the NFL app during draft day. I closed the app and put the phone in my pocket. Ten minutes later I felt my leg getting hot and my phone was burning up. I deleted the NFL app and everything went back to normal. Most of the time it's a poorly written app that causes this issue so I suggest you delete any recently installed apps and see if it happens again.
have a look at this.. maybe it helps

[Q] Another G2x noob, is my phone going to be a lemon?

I'm kinda hesitant to post this, because I know you guys go through great lengths to emphasize searching first. I watched the video when I registered, nice touch. More forums could use vids like that!
oh well, here we go:
I have owned an Iphone every since they where introduced to the market. I have been wanting to make a switch for a while now. I was very close to purchasing a G2x back in April when they came out, but I held off. Well recently, a coworker let me check out his HTC G2 and I was amazed at the functionality, features, and other misc items compared to my old Iphone 3GS. I was never a fan of the slide out keyboard, so I knew the G2 was not for me.
Last week, I just missed the free promo on T-MO's web site, so Instead I purchased a G2X locally. I was totally unaware of all the problems you guys where having, as the typical review sites never mention these issues.
I have owned the phone for 8 days, So far here is whats been a going on:
7-29-11 Purchased the phone from Best Buy, decided to buy from them since they where the cheapest out the door with out rebate. I hate rebates! lol
Right before I am going to bed, I plug in to charge, and the phone shuts off, I cannot get it to power back up. I did not know about pulling the battery, I thought it had just died. I was going to wake up the next morning and take it back.
7-30-11 When I woke up, I looked around online, and found out about removing the battery and putting it back in. Now phone is working again.
I was able to get the OTA update to 2.3.3, right after the update, I did a master reset.
8-2-11 I downloaded a "radio scanner" app, and the first time I executed it, the phone froze, requiring another battery pull. Afterwards, the app ran fine.
Those are the only 2 major issues I have had.
Here are a few other things I noticed:
Screen: No separation, very slight light blur around top corners with lit black screen. Does not bother me, and I can't really notice it 99% of the time.
GPS: I know some have been having issues with this, for me, The time to get an accurate fix can sometimes take anywhere from 5-30 seconds. Even with the stock toggle always turned on, I do not always have the GPS Icon in the top bar, I don't know if I am supposed to. Can someone please confirm this?
WI FI: Seems to be working like intended, no complaints there.
BT: I have nothing to pair with the phone, so I will probably never know.
Making calls: this is kinda annoying, I will look through my call log and select a person, I see the dialer initiating so I put the phone to my ear, but a few seconds go by and nothing.... I look at the phone and find myself looking at the call log again, like the dialer crashed? Also, during the conversation the screen will turn off. I think this is normal, but when the phone detects motion shouldn't the screen turn back on?
Other than that, I love this phone so far. However, I do not want to swap handset after handset, refurb after refurb with T-MO or LG.
Is it possible that the phone will NOT continue to get worse as time goes on? Or should I take the first shut down as a sign of whats to come in the future? I have a 6 days left to take this thing back, but I am having a major conflict with myself about keeping it. What makes it even harder, Is I have already ordered a 32g micro SD, Trident case, and 3 extra data cables.
My plans are to root it, and run some sort of rom with it once I read up and half ass know what I am doing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TLDR:
Have owned phone for a week. Shut down instantly the first time I charged it requiring a battery pull. Froze/crashed due to an app maybe Second battery pull.
Question a few functions but otherwise works like a champ.
Purchased case, micro sd, extra data cables.
thinking of taking it back and cancelling contract to avoid future headaches, but not sure if I should or want to at this point. need avdice please!
Doesn't sound like a lemon. The stock software is buggy. If you're gonna root it and flash another rom then you're gonna love this phone.
The GPS indicator is normal. It only shows when an app is using GPS for your location. Otherwise it doesn't show.
G2X CM7
It doesn't sound like a lemon to me either. I bought mine in April and my phone had a few reboots while charging overnight and two freezes in the first month. It has been OK since then, although I did not do anything about it (and I'm still on Froyo). The only thing I do is that I reboot my phone manually once in 7-10 days because the phone starts to lag. I believe this is normal for all smartphones including iPhone...or am I wrong?
Oh, forgot to mention when I hit the power button to wake the phone and go to the lock screen, I briefly see the last screen I was in before the phone went into sleep mode. Total lack of QA in my opinion... Will a rom fix this?
And yes Man of La Mancha, the iphone would get somewhat glitchy, but a reboot always took care of it. I didn't really have to reboot it too often, maybe once every 2 weeks or so.

The lockscreen issue is a known bug. CM7, or any ROM with 2.3.4+ doesn't have that problem.

My phone`s display is turning on solely

Hello to everyone,
I have a problem that makes me angry every day regarding my Motorola Droid 2 Global, even if I love very much this phone. My phone`s display is turning on solely. This fact makes my phone`s battery to drain very fast. Thus, my phone lasts one day and some hours. My phone`s display is every time at 45%-55% as consumption. I mention that I have 2.3.4 Android Version and 4.5.629 System Version. So, from all I know, this Android version doesn`t have in pocket detection. I saw already that a lot of people have this problem.
Thank you very much for your help!
All the best!
Any idea ???
not sure what you mean, solely?
It won't turn off?
I would wipe cache and/or data, start over
Hello,
Yes...I am locking my phone (my display turns off) and after a time my dispay is turning on without any action from me and after that it turns off. Unfortunately this fact happens not a single time. Thus my battery is drainning very fast.
The D2G does in fact have in-pocket detection, but in my experience it does not work very well.
Is it possible that the keyboard is sliding open, even just a few millimeters, inside your pocket? I find that happens with mine occasionally, and it doesn't have to open very far at all to turn the screen on.
Hello,
I did a Factory Data Reset. Now I maintain my D2G under observation. Apparently, now, all seems to be ok. On the other hand, my phone display is at 30% as consumption.
