There is a Honor 8 rollback package file and a full zip Android 6.0 EMUI4.1 file for your FRD-L04. The rollback zip file has a pdf with instructions. Good luck.

Well if you did a full system Wipeout using TWRP recovery I don't think you'll need the rollback file. The rollback is to downgrade your phone from Nougat to Marshmallow. I haven't used it myself but I think it helps you to keep your current data an configuration after downloading downgrading. On the other hand, if you just push the MM update.app file into the microSD's "dload" folder and make the 3-hold-button procedure, it will reformat the whole phone and relock it back to stock recovery and everything. At least that's what happens with my L14 US model when I use the full B162 update.app file.

Just to make sure, is your Honor 8's model FRD-L04C567?
If that it is your model number then go to this link and download that file. That's is the last MM EMUI4.1 full update:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=129430
Remember that you need to extract the UPDATE.APP file and place it into your microSD card's "dload" folder.

When u Rollback u need to flash a FullOTA-MF-PV Firmware or u will end up with a broken cust. Problem is that there is no Full Firmware to download.
There is a L09C432B136 Firmware from paulobrian u can try with.
Cant guarantee it will work but u can try it.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/stock-rom-dload-file-p9-eva-l09-b136-t3382818
Here is the guide he wrote:
When flashing the B136 ROM, make sure you copy all files and folders to your sdcard.
It should look like this on your SD:
Code:
/dload/UPDATE.APP
/dload/dt/default/update_data_dt_default.app
/dload/hw/eu/update_data_hw_eu.app
/dload/hw/normal/update_data_hw_normal.app
If you just flash the UPDATE.APP then you'll end up with a broken /cust partition with incorrect icons, theming not working, etc.
EMUI recovery will flash UPDATE.APP then flash the dt, then hw updates after.

Tnx for answer.
Yes i flashed only update.app and i download it from official huawei site, rollback package too. Update.app have 3.22gb, i don't know how this is not full firmware..
How i can flash b136 if i have b182 now? Rollback package is only from 5.0 nougat..
Another question, how i can install that " update_data_ hw " zip files? This is not update_data_hw.app this is zip files(update_data_hw.zip), and when i extract it i have 2 folders META, and data.. I don't have file with .app there so i don't know can my phone recognize .zip by dload method, and can i only flash that data_hw files now not firmware again?

U should put the update.app from B182 in dload folder on the sd card, and put the dt and hw folder in the same dload folder from the B136 firmware.

B383 is Nougat, if u want to upgrade to Nougat u can use B383.
Use Firmware Finder to upgrade, u must choose FullOTA-MF-PV to upgrade.
Use the Proxy method in the app to upgrade.

You need roll back package for L29. It will be around 90 mb. Put it in dload folder in sdcard. Then go to dialer and type *#*#2846579#*#* and then select software upgrade. It will reboot and will undergo that process or you can do that three finger process. Once it is done you can reboot back to your OS. This time put the B1xx or B3xx firmware in dload folder and try to do that again. It will go back.
In my case I went back from L29C432B560 to L29C432B180 doing this way. I am saying this from my personal experience. Key here is the rollback package from Huawei. It is there in one of the threads or you can google Huawei rollback package. Once you get that you resolve your issue.
Another thing I observed is locked bootloader.
Hope it works out for you.

If that code doesn't work then try the 3 finger rule
After you do with this rollback package
You will once again come back to nougat
You can check the build number if the process is successful.
Then you have to dload again to B180 or B3xx

I had the same problems.
option 1
I downloaded stock B560 zip files
flashed it in TWRP
next I locked the bootloader
now the dload to rollback - worked. buildnumber - changed
then another dload to B180 to go back.
after that I did dload to B190
updated to B560 using system update. then I flashed kangvip B577 and its all good now.
my phone was debranded to L29c432 so I used these files.
you have to get the right set of files for your phone model especially stock firmware.
roll back package from here

locked bootloader and stock recovery did the trick for me.

Need help fixing an Honor 8. Stuck on EMUI 4.0 after failing with custom ROMs

Hello! So I tried flashing a custom ROM to my friends Honor 8 after reading around a bit and such but it ultimately failed and now we're trying to get it back to the default ROM. We found a ROM download but it was for the version FRD-l09C900B120 which was running EMUI4.0 and Android 6.0. I also read that the "C" version he has doesn't receive any further updates, I'm failing to find anything on the correct "C" version anywhere. If anyone could guide me through the installation process for the correct and latest firmware it would be great!
On another note, the build in eRecovery doesn't seem to want to install the update package. It always fails pretty early on after connecting to WiFi, any fix for that would be great. Thanks!
Thanks for any help!
On which ROM was the custom ROM based? You should try to flash the rollback package with dload method and then flash B120 or another EMUI 4.X ROM with same method

The custom ROM was Linageos 14.1, so it wasn't anything EMUI based.
I'm gonna try and manually flash the ROM from an update.app that we downloaded from the app Firmware Finder.

We did not make a twrp backup (In hindsight we should've....)
We don't have twrp on it right not but can be fixed if needed.
We were on the latest update available to the phone which should be latest today as well. (OTA)
Flashing it manually made the phone enter a bootloop. It didn't even start the firmware. Any suggestions?
EDIT: We got into Fastboot. What are our options?
Right now your best option in my opinion is to flash Boot.img, recovery.img,cust.img and system.img that you will extract from the UPDATE.APP of your CURRENT Rom. Then just try the dload method again and again, it may not accept the firmware you try to flash but in this case just try another, but not a lower one because you need the rollback package to do that

Well currently there's a broken firmware on it of FRD-L09C432B943... Or something like that.
I think at this point he's looking at getting a new phone all together.
No matter if the firmware inside isn't working properly, with fastboot you can manually flash each partition that is needed as long as USB debugging is enabled and bootloader unlocked. After flashing these cleans parts you can properly use the dload method , and if you get an error using dload method can you tell me which one is it? At least the device behavior.
I have to sleep, I'll be right back on the morning hope you'll make it this night , if don't , please be more specific and accurate when you describe the errors you faced, that way we will be more efficient when answering

If you flash LineageOS on a phone without OS it won't work just because LineageOS patch the current installed System, if there is no system there is no way it will boot

I can't find any Honor 8 FRD-L09 downloads anywhere on the Huawei sites or Honor sites. They must've removed the downloads just like they did with the Honor 7..

I get that now and I know how to proceed in the future.
On another note, I got a good UPDATE.APP available but it refuses to install using the dload method because the versions are different. Does anyone know which partition the USERDATA.img file goes to?
You don't have to flash each single partition but dude in my opinion it's better to flash the whole UPDATE.APP, just use the rollback package and flash a lower EMUI.
Another thing: I'm currently on honor official site and I can download firmwares, you're searching in the wrong place.

Thank you for that link, I downloaded it and flashed it, I couldn't find it on any other hihonor site but this French one had it.
Again, thank you, it worked flawlessly installing and it updated instantly. You saved me from a lot of worrying and anxiety about breaking my friends phone lol.
I'm really glad to read that dude
thanks for the firmware been looking for it for very long!
btw you just saved another honor 8

dload method, no firmware file for Nougat i download is valid!

I need help! I often softbrick my device, but can be fixed by using official 6.0 update.app However updating back to emui 5 takes way too long. But every firmware i download from huawei firmware finder isn't valid for dload for some reason! Help!
Did you already tried with firmwares listed as "FullOTA-MF-PV" available on hwmt.ru site, section firmware database? The Point Version is a firmware that must work while you're executing a dload method flash, the safest usually.
What's your build number? I'll provide a valid firmware to use with dload method.
BLN-L21C432 but i didnt see any MF-PV for b360+ so i dont think there are... that, or i am blind
Use team mt tool extract update.app from firmware and use Huawei extracter to provide required file

Yeah, latest is B360, EMUI 5. Dload it and then update regularly to latest build, B371.

The biggest one with dload method first of all, then the other two dload too (or flash by TWRP)
TWRP says command unknown, and how am i supposed to flash the second one? (There is no third file) Do i dload big one, then boot to EMUI, then shutdown, extract SD, switch dload folder, and install the second?
Refer to this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73954487&postcount=240
i have also same issue with my honor 6x not working dload installing failed on 5%

Did the failure brick your phone? or the phone just reboots itself normally? are you sure that your firmware is approved first for installtion before you apply it? (you can know this using Firmware Finder by checking if it's approved first or not for installation by Huawei)

Stock firmware

Hello,
I have Honor 8 frd-l09, that was running c432 b521 version of EMUI 8.0. I want to go back to stock but i do not know which files should i download. On pro-teammt website are many donwload link for my model:
... update.zip
... update_full_FRD-L02_hw_eu.zip
... update_full_FRD-L19_hw_eu.zip
... update_data_full_public.zip
... update_full_FRD-L09_hw_eu.zip
Those are all the links when i click "filelist". It is obvious that i do not need to download FRD-L02 and FRD-L19, because i have FRD-L09. Should i download just that one or do i also need "update.zip" and "update_data_full_public.zip"?
Thanks for the answers.

You need update and update_data too
Anyway I suggest to you to use eRecovery, but that will take you to Android 7 and lock back your bootloader

Thanks for the reply.
I downloaded all of them, but i do not know what should i do with them. "update.zip" constains "UPDATE.APP" and also "update_full_FRD-L09_hw_eu-zip" constains UPDATE.APP. I looked at some tutorials and they just put "UPDATE.APP" in the dload and flash it. I have 3 zips and 2 "update.app" files.
Could you help me get to stock and describe what i need to do.
THANKS A LOT!

The problem with huru is that i do not have TWRP recovery, because i am running OpenKirin rom. I wanted to flash twrp but it did not work and now i do not have a recovery. When i boot into recovery i just get Func NO : 11 (reovery image), Error NO : 2 (load failed!).
What could i do?
Thanks for helping me
Hi, you can safely use your erecovery as it will download the stock b562 Oreo firmware. It won't relock your bootloader because you are already on Oreo. It used to lock it when you went back from Oreo to nougat. You can trust me as I have used this method quite a bit of times to save my half bricked phone
