Aosp keyboard for oneplus one oxygenos 5.1.1? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone send me links to aosp keyboards. Everyone I try isn't working. I'm forced to use swift or Google keyboard... Which IMHO both suck. I like aosp but can't find one that works

Best free keyboard?

I was super happy with Better Keyboard on my Galaxy S but one day it automatically updated to a new version and now it will only work if I buy it. If I knew this was going to happen I would have never updated it. I even tried looking for the older version online but I could not find it.
So I was wondering what is the best FREE keyboard alternative out there? I don't use swipe but I do need the keyboard to be able to use accents (like ç, á, ô and so forth). Any suggestions?
I use thickbuttons its free..
i use gingerbread keyboard. Very good keyboard, highly customizable!
I've read that the only thing that doesn't work after the Swiftkey trial ends is the prediction? Is this right? If so I'm going to stick with it. I've just downloaded the trial and it's really great.

Swiftkey stops working after 30 days. They're sticklers about that.
If you like typing, I suggest the Gingerbread keyboard or the HTC IME that you can download from the nexus forums.
Swype is also available online. Google it.
hy. I use the HTC ime mod. today i try the swiftkey free, and the prediction of this keyboard are fantastic!
but htc ime have a key for the emotic, and use special char is easier.
there isn't a keyboard with the layeault of htc ime mod and prediction of swiftkey right?
Gingerbread keyboard is really nice.
I had Swype installed by default on my Defy and it was the first thing I installed when I got my Nexus S. I love it.

I miss ICS keyboard

I really liked the ICS keyboard. I guess that was a sense one. Wish we could get it on JB.
Loved swype and google voice all in one!
I have swype now, but liked having google voice text and not the swype one....
Try IME Mod, there is a thread at the apps and themes forum. But I think it doesn't have the Swype thing. It's a mod of an older version of the HTC keyboard. Correct me if I'm wrong
hello, i'm new here and i think for the keyboard you can find one that suit you on googleplay
like swift 3

[Q] Stock keyboard app

I am using a custom rom and I am glad because I hated all the bloatware in the stock rom but the one thing I miss is that "keyboard" app that when you are typing on the qwerty it generated a little bar of suggestions based on what you had typed. First question can you install that on a custom rom or is it like the circles widget and will only work with stock and if it will work can anyone point me to someplace I can download the apk?
Well I think SwiftKey has similar "suggestions" with what you are looking for...? I'm not sure if any will work with the physical keyboard tho.
I know there are other keyboards with predictive text features but the stock keyboard for the photon Q you dont have to have an onscreen qwerty keyboard on the screen to use it. When the phone is open it appears as just a small sliver at the bottom of the screen enhancing the physical qwerty.
Thank you very very much arrrghhh I decided to check out swiftkey despite you saying you did not think it had the specific feature I was asking for and it turns out it does. So for anyone else with a custom rom that misses the stock qwerty companion swiftkey does everything the stock app does and honestly for anyone using stock i highly suggest swiftkey as a replacement anyway.

[Q]Port Sense 5 Keyboard for CM Roms?

I tried a Sense 5 Rom today but had to go back to CM 10.2. However, I did fall in love with the Sense 5 keyboard, because for me it's the most accurate keyboard I've ever used (never missed a key after typing many words, which I cannot do with any other keyboard). It's such a pity that the keyboard cannot work directly with copy and paste of of the .apk. Would anyone be kind enough to port this keyboard to CM? Thanks.
Short answer. No.
Long answer. Every aspect of Sense is tied heavily into the Sense framework so you can't just port it to a non-sense ROM. Is it possible? Probably, but the effort required to somehow introduce all Sense framework into an aosp ROM would be too great. It just isn't going to happen.
As an alternative I'd strongly recommend the Swype keyboard. I've used pretty much every keyboard that's available for Android and Swype is the best, hands down. A lot of people like Swiftkey, and that's probably the second best keyboard, but the word recognition and prediction is terrible.
Sent from my Evita.

A pity for you, but its intended that way by HTC, as its very logical that they would want to protect their intellectual property and their work. Therefore, all Sense apps are tied closely to the Sense framework, and its very laborious to port them.
As timmaaa says, its technically "possible" to port Sense elements to AOSP. But its too much work for not a lot of interest, that its simply not going to happen. For the most part, folks that like Sense features use Sense ROM; and those that don't use AOSP.

3rd Party keyboard issues

So currently I am on 2BOGE release on my 920F and I am having an issue with every keyboard but the stock samsung one. Google keyboard, Swiftkey, and all others I have tried will crash when trying to start, they won't close properly, and just a myriad of other issues since the update.
Does anyone know what's going on? The stock keyboard works fine, I just don't like it.
Stick with stock.

And this is what you call support ladies and gentlemen. Stock keyboard is not very good. Hence why it's an issue with me.
I'm using Swiftkey and I noticed that aswell that the stock one always comes up imediately when you want to write something and Swiftkey has a small lag.
This maybe an android OS issue - I had this on my Oneplus one and Sony Z3C. Probably because the stock keyboard is treated as system app, but the 3rd party ones only as user apps?
