I noticed the flipboard feed is gone on the official Nougat rom, it has been replaced by something called upday. I personally liked it a lot and would like to get it back, but haven't found anything. Does anyone know if there is a way I can get it back? Any help is very appreciated.
Install Flipboard from the play store?

Thanks for your answer. I'm talking about the flipboard briefing panel at the right side of the default launcher. I know I could just download the app, but I got the briefing because it was always a slide away from my home screen and did not have to open a specific app.

Maybe it's a regional thing. I should try flashing the CSC from the previous region I had.

Hi,
Grab it here, install it and create a shortcut to launch it with QuickShortcutMaker or any other similar app.
So far, I haven't found a way to have it replacing upday without rooting but at least I can launch it as a standalone app.

One of my favorite features on stock lollipop was the Samsung live weather lockscreen. It seems this was lost in Marshmallow. Does anyone know how to install it? I would greatly appreciate the help.
I would love to know this as well
Same thing happened to me yesterday after the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update. No more live weather option on the lock screen.
Same here. It seems they've removed it completely. It was my favorite too.
...
I've been looking for a way to get this back or some suitable replacement for this feature and can't find either.
Anyone got any ideas?

Yes, Ive been using it for a while. You need to download the Samsung Good Lock lock screen , It will actually change your UI. . Then enable it, it will give you an option to either use a widget or a stock clock, select either your own weather / time widget or the stock Samsung widget. I use XWidget . then once finished setting your widget before clicking finish, hit the little edit icon to the right of the widget you selected and click the button to "Enable to access the secured lock screen" otherwise it wont update, then click save.

Thank you for this, but I was talking about the Live weather effects that we used to have in our lockscreen. Not a widget

Hello everyone,
since Saturday I got a new Xperia Z5 after using my beloved Galaxy S2 for 4 (or 5?) years.
Honestly, I didn't want a new phone, but it was just too slow and finally didn't function any more.
So now I am personalizing my new Phone, but am really disturbed by the app menu.
Apps on different pages, where I have to scroll and look for an app? What is this? 2010?
I am so used to the list view on TouchWiz and Cyanogenmod.
How do I get that onto my Xperia Z5 Phone?
Here are some screenshots for clarification. (sorry I can't post links yet)
I have this: googledrive.com/host/0B71qahVEwjt5X1RPY2pSVmdPWmc/gridview
(currently using Google Now Launcher, which is at least closer to what I want)
I want this: androidbeat.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/CM13-app-drawer.png
Or what would even be better, but I guess not possible, this: cdn.cultofandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/applistview.jpg
I hope you know what I mean and can help me.
BR,
Rastla
quite easy to do with another launcher. You can do it with nova launcher how you want it.
And wth!? Nothing easier than a Sony ui menu. Almost complete stock Android. You should even have a quick search bar on top, you can move your apps in the app draw where you want them to be etc.
It's all a little more overviewed compared to Samsung, that's one reason I love sony's ui so much

stock sony ui doesn't have a search bar at top (only the google now launcher).
its just that old grid view i know from early android days. i would even go so far, to compare it to windows 98.
it's impractical and definitively not good overviewed imho.
what can be more practical than a simple A-Z list?

I have been using Nova across many versions/devices, including Mate 9 since US release. Today I retried ADW Launcher 2, though I don't know how/why it had anything to do with it.
I noticed my Mate 9 Camera icon was the little green android icon, with app name com.huawei.camera. Hmmm. Same across Huawei, Nova, or ADW launchers
Finding no separate camera app other than that, let's try to take a picture. Nothing. Icon clicks delays a second and stays on the homescreen. Nothing.
Now I can't see any apk or way to update/re-add the app. Can't seem to even have a 3rd party app work.
Help
I would like to help but the only way is to flash full rom, and since that is not possible till now so the only option you have is to use funkyhuawei.
Or give it to your service center if the device still under warranty, they have offline package that can be flash it manually

No, it doesn't work for the US ROM yet. If you want to use it on a US device, you'd have to rebrand.
In the upcoming weeks support for the US version will be added, but we need to wait for Huawei to release a US firmware full update before that can happen.

Thank you very much for the quick heads up. Will grab credits, but will go cameraless hopefully will be a new one with Alexa etc.
Just curious, do any other apps work that use the camera?
If so, could you use a third party camera app temporarily?

There shouldn't way that app was deleted because it should be a system file. Did you check under system>app to see if it's there? If not do a factory reset, it should show up.
It is deleted
I'm having this exact problem...any solution please?
factory reset didn't help...tried

I am loving this feature and I did not realize it was a part of the latest update. I got my S8 yesterday so I didn't have much time to play around before an update showed up which I installed straight away. It's great if you are playing games without the fullscreen setting on as it makes games seem bigger by itself.
I have the same build. ATT carrier US device. No hide navbar feature for me...
it's good but what would be better is if it remembered your choice for different apps. There are some apps like instagram which I'm always needing the back button. Other like BBC News which i'm reading longer stories so don't 'need it
And they shouldn't have killed the colour picker option for the nav bar. That's horrible

Was there anything else on this update?
I had gotten the feature, then I tried to use Custom Navigation Bar app, and even after uninstalling the app the feature doesn't come back. I wanna cry =(
After update to latest update Bixby vision can only see text , no image or webpage .
I am on 950FD stock
Please any help
In some apps it works buggy, for example in snapchat when you take a picture the bottom part of the screen shows cam recording. But it is a cool feature

If you use SamsungSans font the icons remains in huge size. Change to the default font and test.
Yes i am using it , it has a strange lag that i didnt experienced on original s7 edge nougat launcher , but on the good side the scrolling in menu and app drawer is smooth.
I tried changing font and nothing. I mean maybe I got used to nova, and these icons are big to me. I have theme from this forum, s8 dark, thaf requires theme store to be disabled. Maybe that is a problem?
Also, there is no option to remove widget from home screen, and no hard press to uninstall apps???

Here is no lag on home screen, working perfectly. Try clear data on Touchwiz application (remember this restore all shortcuts and pastes to default).

I did that already , its not usual lag , it appears when closing apps in recents and scrolling home screens , and really is weird and looks like a bug or optimisation problem , it happens sometimes but not all the time , but app drawer opening and scrolling in menu is smoother and i can live with it , remember that we are using unsupported launcher so problems could happen even as far as phone not booting up or stuck at boot , also if any problem happens to our phone and we go to claim warranty at samsung , they will deny warranty as we are using unsupported software , happened with my friend who was using nova launcher.
Thanks mate

Guys, anyone can give hints regarding this rectangle appearing in folder view after installing this updated launcher. It was not there before updating to this launcher. And yes i already did clear cache and data, but this rectangular line still there.
The latest version of TouchWiz home available at
Apkmirror number 6.1.55.0 without any bugs or problems
I installed at my galaxy s7 edge August Security Patch no root

I had never seen to lose the warranty for installing an application authorized by the Play Store. If it was any installed by being rooted or something, I'd understand.

Bro i can confirm this , samsung pakistan sucks , my friend's phone got in a bootloop and hanged on startup , so he got in samsung care in lahore and they said its due to unsupported software installation and they didnt fixed it , he never knew a single thing about techs or rooting , he said he just installed nova launcher , after that i got his phone and did a factory reset and when i checked it wasn't rooted and knox warranty void was 0x0 , so after resetting i advised him to go in another service centre for his screen problems , and then they did repair with no issues , so these things may not happen in other countries due to strict customer protection laws , but i will advise anyone before going in service center always do a factory reset.
So no one else notices the extra and annoying padding at the top and by the dock when using any version of the S8 launcher on the S7 Edge? It's basically a deal breaker for me. If anyone has figured out how to get rid of the wasted empty space I'm all ears. I'm not rooted and on stock.
