How to detect using kernel when USB OTG Cable is plugged in inside android usb port?
Related
Hi guys,
I'm pretty new at all this, so I'll just tell you what my problem is:
I bought an OTG cable (by eforcity) - male USB micro to female USB A, and I plugged it into my Droid X. The droid is not recognizing the thumbdrives I've tried. I'm on Android 2.3.3, system version 4.5.605, Stock, Rooted.
So, how do I do USB hosting with that cable? Do I need something more? Do I need a custom Kernel/ ROM on my device to support it?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi,
My xoom cannot mount any flashdrive or external HDD, however the drive was visible in USB host controller ? device was detected but not really connected ..
btw I can use any USB hub, mouse and keyboard together, is this kernel or driver issue ?
How do I mount / umount USB drives via the docks USB host port
or USB adapter host port? In terminal or adb shell just issue the
commands ?
Do I need a otg cable or can I use a mini usb to usb then a female to female connection and work that way. That's what I was using on ics on zarboz kernal. Worked fine with otg helper. But now I cant mount my memory stick
You need a real OTG cable. Once we get the kernelsource Im sure we will get a kernel that will support OTG over a normal cable again
