NEW feature that improves Audio - MX Player

Hello
first i want to say Thank You for this awesome App
that changes my life !!!!!
i have purchased MX Player Pro i think this is absolutely worth to buy this App 2x
My Question:
I Wanted to ask if is possible to add
a Important feature to MX Player/Pro.
Feature: add a information bar to the
Audio which shows which line uses
How many kbps and which Codec
Example:
Spectre.007.mkv
Audio #1 EN DTS 7.1 at 3380kbps
Audio #2 TR AC3 2.0 at 430kbps
Audio #3 DE DTS 5.1 at 2230kbps
This feature Displays 4 important
information.
1. language of the line
2. Audio Codec of the line
3. the Channel of the line
4. Bitrate of the line
This would make easier to choose
the right line in MKV or any Video
that has multiple Audio lines
Hope its possible for your Awesome
Team to add this feature with the next
update i wish you a Nice Day
Best regards
Osman

Videocam illusion

Hi,
I'm the developer of Videocam illusion app. I have just checked a problem with SE X10 audio recording speed (supports only 48.000 Hz recording). I will release a fix ASAP.
Regards,
Mobileillusion
EDIT 2:
I have just released version 1.5 of "Videocam illusion". I hope the audio recording problem of the previous version was fixed for the Xperia X10.
I have upload the apk, but I would prefer that you download it (and rate if you like) from the Android Market:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.androidillusion.videocamillusion
Thanks for your support!
What's new on version 1.5
- New user interface
- Optimized video player
- New retro filter: Chicago
- Animated mask: 8mm
- More filters/effects/masks: color, blur & white border
- Adjustable filters & effects
- Front camera support (Android 2.3+ required)
- Zoom (if supported)
- Ready for Tablet
EDIT: Here the SE X10 bugfix release (with 48 KHz recording)
Thanks, I guess most of us have been wondering why the sound sounds like chipmunk/accelerated and so does the video.
excuse my English. take this opportunity to ask if there a way to increase the recording frames. In fact, when I started recording 15 fps, but after a few seconds down to 5-6 .... tanks
Hi,
Thanks for your application encd for your replay ....
I just wonder if it would be possible to have the video encoded not only in MOV but in MP4 and/or 3gp formats in order to be also enclosed in MMS ?
Regards
Hi again,
thanks for the feedback. I have changed the recording freq to 44.100 Hz.
Could you tell me if now is working propertly?
About the questions...
The app records MOV files (MJPEG format). I have developed the MJPEG encoder/decoder. The frame rate drops while recording because each frame must be encoded. I think I could speed up a little, but not a lot.
About MP4/3GP format Android Multimedia API doesn't support direct frame encoding to video. :-(
I'm working on a MP4 encoder, but right now speed sucks. I will try to optimize.
Regards,
Mobileillusion
Hi
I will test it in few minutes and let you know what are my impression
Regards
Is this the latest version? I just download videocam illusion from market today...it show version 1.o..
Getting between 7-13fps only 640x480
Sound still abit chipmunky but it's better than before. Hopefully you can update it again
Hi,
the atached file is a "SE X10 bugfix" version (1.0.1). I will release a new version in the Market with audio recording freq selector (not only 44.100 Hz) the next week.
Feel free to let us test out your pre-release and provide feedback to you
Dev, thank you for working on this. Much appreciated

it is only a 44.100 Hz recording patch free version. I will update the Market versions (free/pro) with frequency selection ASAP.
Thanks for all the feedback!!!
X10 is screaming "i'm aliveeeee!!!!!"
thanks bro!
Well, you said Android's framework for 3rd party apps doesn't support direct frame encoding. Right?
Then what about using superuser to get over this framework?
All firmwares here are pre-rooted, so this wouldn't be a problem.

Hi Adolf1994,
you're right, direct frame video encoding is not available for 3rd party apps.
I have to investigate the Android source code to see how to directly access the encoder. If anyone can help me would be fine.

Much better, but it still takes the sound up a bit, maybe go up to 44.1Khz? Unless thats what was making it go up. Then i guess take it down.

Hi Realorasz,
I have checked the problem and you're right. I think 8000 Hz works better (with no speed up), but also 48 KHz.
I will release a "quick version" soon.
Thanks!
PS: I'm right now also working on a full resolution image viewer "Gallery illusion HD" that supports big "jpgs" and displays pictures with no quality loss. Now is in public beta and can be download free on the Android Market. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Good to know
Hopefully make full use of the 720p camcorder once you're able to fully use the encorder, hopefully the ROM devs here can help you out.

[Q] Improve audio quality when recording video.

Hi, I open this thread to ask a simple question.
I'm using stock 4.0.3 Android version with Simple Kernel 1.0 and with Voodoo Sound/Colors enabled in kernel. I noticed that video with the stock camera app are recorded using a 16kHz sampling rate and have 96kbps bitrate with AAC codec.
I wonder if there is a way to change the audio format of the recorded audio (e.g. 44.1kHz/128kbps) in order to take full advantage of the new audio drivers. I mean, now thanks to Supercurio's work the audio path is well handled by the system using the features of the Wolfson audio chipset, why waste that signal quality by using a low quality encoding? (16KHz/96 kbps AAC is not so suitable for music recording...)
With external apps such as Tapatalk I can record loseless WAV using 44Khz sample rate, how to embed this functionality in the stock camera app?
(if this is the wrong section i ask moderators to move the thread, though I think this is a pretty interesting matter to talk about)

Why do you reserve posts in every thread instead of giving suggestions?!
@op there isn't an option available in the stock one. You can however use third party apps or such things to get it.

I'm continuing this thread because it's main question remains still unsolved. How to record video with decent audio endcoding quality (as said 44kHz/16bit good bitrate)? 3rd party app? What apps are we talking about?

I have also been searching the internet about this for what feels like EVER!
I have been a tape-a-talk user for over one year and have tried several ROMs and video recording apps.
Only one that I know of (lgcamera) allows you to change the audio recording attributes (up to 48000Hz and AAC 320kbps). It also includes AMR and AMR_WB (but AMR is just '3gp', right?). However, even at the highest AAC settings, I still can't record video with high quality audio (I checked by uploading my vids to a pc and right clicking properties - the audio bitrate is only 103kbps & is 16 bit)
I wrote to the developer (just yesterday) and I sent him some clips and he reckons that it is a hardware issue. He also said that "WAV can be record by software encoder, and AAC is a hardware encoder", which explained my question that you also asked re tape-a-talk being able to record in crystal clear WAV.
I am still not happy with this answer, because it makes no sense to me that you can record in high quality audio (WAV) yet not in a lossy format at high qualities (eg 256 kbps AAC).
- I'm on a Nexus S (rooted). Stock ICS 4.0.4, Matr1x Kernel V20 (with VOODOO sound, settings for oversampling etc all cranked up)
---------- Post added at 10:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:45 AM ----------
I just found this, which is to do with latency, but I am not sure if this will improve recording capabilities...
So - any luck?
Found anything new re your OP?

[MOD] 2.3.6/7 Video Recording audio improvement -- WIP

Hi everyone
when you record a video on your original SGS 4G camera, your audio sampling is :
66 kbps bit rate.
16 KHz sample rate.
which is pretty lame...
If you ever tried to record live shows or concerts, you probably noticed audio is awful on recorded video...
Introducing Video Recording audio improvement MOD
found and very well explained by rafalense (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10980448&postcount=268).
Performed on SGS 4G camera by me. So, now recorded audio sampling is :
118 kbps bit rate.
32 KHz sample rate.
file size change is barely noticed.
Still camera is not modified.
I took, as a basis, the Team Acid modified camera - done by DSexton702.
So it is capable of taking pictures when battery is low and also by using the power button.
This is still in beta as :
1. Currently Audio-Video is out of sync. I need to check if this can be fixed by changing Video sampling rate....
In the meanwhile, you can fix this on PC very easily.
2. This mod does not use the media profile xml for greater video frame rate.
I actually put the original file back. I found the result to be not supported by all players and having some side effects like visual waves (and much larger file size).
3. Actually I examined DSexton702 media profile and it defines some various audio sample rates but always create 16KHz at the end.
If someone here has the knowledge in A/V synchronization or a good setup that works - please let me know so i will fix it.
Thanks.
CWM Flashable files to download (Camcorder mod and original camcorder to revert back) :
You can use this to sync A/V - http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/download.html
Awesome work! Thanks.
Glad to have u aboard thanks for this man this is well needed!!!!!
Now having AntonX kernel supporting Vodoo Sound - I will test audio HiFi record option enabled on video recording and update.
Would love to see this become final. You certainly are right about the audio during concert recording. All we hear is pure bass... Thank you for working on a much needed video recording mod.

Yeah.. would be awesome.
Thanks for the work, itzik2sh.
Edit : guys working with Voodoo sound (with supporting kernel)
need to run the Voodoo sound app and choose 'Recording Preset' - then change default to 'Loud environment - with DRC'
This should improve the recording level of loud shows.
Hi
Did anyone here test this MOD with live concert recording ?
If it doesn't help than I'll drop all further work.
I thought this problem is SGS 4G unique, but it turns out it exists on all Sammy phones,
even Nexus and SGS 2. See this bounty thread for SGS 2 :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1172048
and this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=896826
I'll try to ask AntonX to take a look or maybe ask supercurio on kernel implementation...
I also tried installing LGCamera from the market, which supposingly has an audio gain control, but it fails to launch and I had to uninstall it.
Nice improvement

After voodoo digital recording, video and audio are repacked and converted to the device analog sampling rates, that this tweak changes (but also unsyncs)...
So if you have the time and effort, I'd appreciate if you share your experience with us all.

[Q][Resolved] MX player and HEVC/H265 codec

when this app will support a 4K videos?
thanks:laugh:
The app can already play 4K video and HEVC. MX Player uses ffmpeg as a base decoder, so whatever ffmpeg can play, MX can play. Of course, 4K and HEVC support isn't optimal by anyone right now, so don't expect stellar results.
Expect hardware-decode of HEVC/X265

When I play a 1080p vedio of HEVC/X265 movie with mxplayer 1.7.32, the player just only can play it using software decode, and the playing is very slowly.
I try to enable hw/+ mode but it failed to play.
So, expect that hard-decode can implement quickly~~~~
Hardware and/or hardware+ decode is not possible until manufacturers make chipsets that support HEVC. Those won't come for at least another year.
You can find a planned production timetable by Qualcomm here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57336946&postcount=119
Well, I have Qualcomm 801 that should support HEVC decoding (at 1080p), but it doesn't work. MX can't use HW(+) on HEVC videos, and it's not even in the list that I can get using Android API (MediaCodecList).
It seems that even if you have chipset with HEVC support you still may need to wait for manufacturer to get it supported. So player developers can't do anything about it.
Indeed, thank you vivan for the clarification!

I tried this, but it made no difference. The video playback is still slow, and periodically the sound stops playing for a few seconds while the video catches up.

Yeah you're right it wasn't it
but i think it's supposed to be like this , i mean if you pay attention movies go slow when it's not that important , like when a conversation is going on it's good and when it ends and it shows for example "a house from a distance" it goes slow , you know what I meann ?!!!

perfect... I change the number of core to use, so it finally work with H265 HVEC codec
If didnt work, try in MX player play with settings there, for example what works for me (lenovo tab yoga 3 pro) was: limit CPU core to 8, YUV colours, and use tricks for faster play -> any one from these not set = video playback fail, all of them = absolute superb (even in battery saving mode); so keep trying, the hope is there
I tried everything above mentioned. I have OnePlus 2 and a custom RR 6.0 ROM, version of Android is 8.1. HEVC (×265) lag in mxplayer or any other player in my phone. So please someone give me solution for this. My phone has a SD 810 and SD 810 support HEVC but mxplayer doesn't use HW or HW+ at all it only use SW. So any developer develop any app that use HW to play ×265 or just they use software decoder for that.

This is my first reasonable post , i'll be soon opening up youtube channel for app reviews , This is KsK . Comment below if this Working / NOT working and your views about the Idea. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing. It's awesome!
Thanks, I had the SCR app and even wanted to record a screen video with the internel audio selected, then extract the audio with other apps, but your idea works well with less time consuming, great idea. Just fyi, you need to update the link to the SCR app, the one mentioned is not available in the PlayStore anymore.

Not intending to bump unnaturally, but does it record a video along with it too? Or is it just the audio?
Is it supporting recording during every conversation over a phone?
and also need to store conversation files into Android storage area. is it possible?
