Hi
I created root method for the last version of samsung J2 Prime G532G - G532GDXU1APL1.
It based on modified stock recovery with custom keys (mine), which allow to install a special zip that signed with those keys.
This method include's a patched boot.img (sepolicy), in order the root work properly. (this is normal system root - not systemless, and from Android 6.0 or samsung 5.1.1 and above need also pathed boot)
The phone must be with G532GDXU1APL1 version, or it wont work.
It can be downloaded from here
G532GDXU1APL1
Instructions:
Download this file, and extract it to some folder.
G532GDXU1APL1_root_by_avicohh
Open odin and flash the .tar file inside the folder (In AP).
This file contains the custom recovery, a patched boot, and an empty cache.img in order the phone will restart to recovery after flashing.
In recovery choose "Apply update from ADB".
Run the .bat script file from the "SuperSU sideload installer" folder.
Wait until it finish, the phone will restart automatically with SuperSU inside.
Good luck!
Credits:
@Chainfire for SuperSU
@osm0sis for AIK
P.S. (for devs)
This method can be modified to another build / device, by patching the sepolicy inside boot.img (see here), and replacing the res / keys file inside the recovery.img with my keys. (Attached)
You can unpack and repack boot and recovery images with this tool. (It recomanded to this on linux in order to keep the files permissions)
The stock recovery doesn't support the standart SuperSU installer bacause it bash script, so i wrote another one in Edify. (this zip should work on any device with android 5.11 - 6.0.1 and armv7)
I am waiting new method root for G532G (G532GDXU1APL1)
Now..
great work ,,thanks bro .......I 'm so happy .....
Manual instruction recovery_custom_keys.7z ??? thank

@avicohh WHY SUPERUSER CANNOT BE READ?
Try with another computer.
I my god it is now ask for password, and i have no z2x box to unlock it :/
So maybe @bolda.mia is wrong.
The reason the device ask for password is because the custom boot is based on G532GDXU1APL1 and you have a newer system version. (I think is something related to storage encryption, I don't know exactly)
That's why I said this method should work only on G532GDXU1APL1.
Anyway, flash the stock version back. I believe it will fix the problem even without wipe.
before root, I already flash to lower version brother

[TUT]Extract kernel "zimage" From boot.img and Convert to .tar and Flash using Odin
[Extremely Noob GUIDE]Since there is no explained and easy Guide to Extract Kernel [zimage] and Ramdisk [Ramdisk] from Boot.img, Then Convert it to zimage.tar and Flash it using Odin
Well here it is step by step:
Note: This Method is used to Extract Kernels form Stock Rom's Boot.img
First you need to install Python, which is round about 17MBs software freely available on python website.
Step 1:Download the attached Python script named "split_boot_img" from attachments down Below, Extract it and copy to the folder created in Step 2.
Step 2:Create a folder with any name you like. I recommend "boot.img extraction".
Step 3: Copy the boot.img, you want to extract, to the folder you created in Step 2.
Step 4: Run the script named "split_boot_img"by double-clicking and see the magic.
Congratulations!!! Here you go. the "zimage" and "ramdisk" files are extracted.
Now the Conversion Part:
Step 1: Download this IZARC software and install it from Here:http://www.izarc.org/download.html
Step 2: Open the folder created in First-Step 2.
Step 3: Right Click the ziamge File Extracted from boot.img. as in Image 1 in attachments.
Step 4: Select add to archive file from IzArc right click options as in Image 1 in attachments.
Step 5: Now scroll the Archiving type to ".tar" as in Image 2 in attachments.
Step 6: Click the Add button as in Image 3 in attachments.
Last Step: Now flash the "zimage" file created in Step 6 Using Odin.
View attachment split_boot_img.zip

Maybe he should have put in that you need to use Python 2.7.9 not 3.x ... Had the same problem.
All steps worked after, but didn't flash it yet, I'll do it today or tomorrow.
Also you should mention IZArc is full of crapware, it open one install and even if I chose to not install stuff, it installed iStart and Search Enginer extensions to my browsers. After, surprise, another install showed up to actually install IZArc ... not I need to de-crap my system

Did the kernel.img actually work for you? I tried this same process as well. It took me 4 hours to clean all the maleware from my laptop. I mad the .Tar file and tried to flash it. it failed completely. I think this OP needs to be removed. More than likely the OP is getting paid for all the downloads he is tricking people into.

No, it failed also. Yes, it should be removed.
Ended up using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446269 but for a strage reason Odin would not like it when I moved the .tar archive from a folder to an other from that method (I keep my pc organized), had to create the tar, flash it from that folder, then... deleted it because after I couldn't use it anymore.

Flashing any modified boot / kernel / recovery trips Knox, doesn't matter what method you use. Sometimes even stock trips Knox as some users said.
What i did was take a stock rom from SamMobile that was 'hackable' through TowelRoot, extracted the kernel with WinRar, made the kernel flashable in Odin using that tool, flashed it via Odin, rooted device with TR, then used same steps to download, extract, make kernel bootable to restore my original kernel. Knox stayed 0x0 on i9195.
You can try reading about Heimdall. Supose you can flash without Odin and without converting. It would make your life easier, but for me it didn't work (didn't start on Win 64bit, i think i needed another MS visual c++ , a dependency of Heimdall).
ps.: the tool to create flashable archives would't work for me just by double-clicking, so I had to open an command prompt - CMD with admin rights, go to the directory where i had the tool and type ImgToTar.MD5.bat . Just put everything in C:\tool including recovery.img / boot.img or kernel.img then go start-> type in search box CMD -> right-click on the result and Run as admin -> in the black box type the next text followed by Enter key:
cd /
cd tool
ImgToTar.MD5.bat
I hope it works, i need it for the same reason of you, flashing an older kernel to root with towelroot keeping knox 0x0 at the end of this process

I don't have GEM-701L so I can't be sure the following method will work. I took the method from GEM-703L owners but it worked on my own GEM-702L so if you want to try do it at your own risk and make sure you've your full backups including the stock RECOVERY.img of your GEM-701L current ROM.
1) Download "X2_TWRP_CN_kangvip.rar" from https://yadi.sk/d/5YI63uiAhz5UD/Recovery/TWRP
2) Go into bootloader - check and ensure that your bootloader is UNLOCKED.
3) Make sure you've a backup of your stock RECOVERY.img of your GEM-701L ROM
4) After your bootloader is unlocked, using fastboot enter "fastboot flash recovery twrp_cn.img" where the "twrp_cn.img" is from the .RAR file you downloaded in (1) above
5) Reboot the phone
6) Copy the "Beta-SuperSU-v2.49.zip" file into the root of your phone's internal SD
7) Reboot into custom recovery mode and install the zip file in (6) above
8) If successful, after reboot your phone is already rooted.

Unfortunately if you wish to root then you can't avoid affecting some part of the stock ROM.
totally agreed, actually I want to root just to force the preferred network to LTE only which is not available in android 5.0, while you can select LTE only in mate 7 (4.4.2 as well 5.1.1 )
This method isn't working for the 701 (tried it today).
I assume, the 701-owner need another TRWP-Image
Has somebody a backupded recovery.img from a stock 701?

Which part isn't working ? The custom recovery or the SuperSU install ?
You can extract the stock 701 recovery.IMG from the stock 701 ROM file.
The custom recovery part. I'm able to install, but it isn't possible to boot into recovery (it reboots again).
Thank you for the info about extracting the recovery.img from the stock 701 rom file... i will give it a try.

You may wish to try another alternative custome recovery by "cofface". He specifically created it for X2 (GEM-703L) for Android 5.0.5. This is not the same as the kangVIP custom recovery but I myself was able to reboot into it for GEM-702L but not sure whether it can work on your GEM-701L.

With my other mobile with TWRP I was able to interpret the buttons I had to press... Root is working now!
Curious: It wasn' t necessary to do a wipe, factory reset or something like that.
Unlocking the bootloader, installing TWRP is working anyway.

Yes this is Chinese custom recovery.
Go to: https://yadi.sk/d/5YI63uiAhz5UD/Recovery/TWRP/theme
download 1 of the 3 zip files (1 will do you choose your preferred theme color)
rename this as ui.zip
In your internal SD there is a folder TWRP. Create a subfolder named "theme" and place the ui.zip inside "theme" subfolder.
When you next reboot into TWRP you should see English menus.
Great.
With the first file it looks like this
but it's ok for me. One nasty thing: with this design you can't see a swype-to-unlock-button in recovery. But with a little searching you are able to unlock it.
Thanks a lot, this helps a lot of german x2 owner!

How to root samsung j max [sm-t285yd] ???
Pls help...!!!
Plz help me... I can't root my Samsung {t285yd} J max.
:crying:
i also want to root this device. i try all things like king root, towel root everything but no luck.. devloper plz help us to root this device.
Nothing Work
I have been working on a root for this device for the last 6 months. The only place I have made any headway was CF Auto-root. I'm not able to post links yet so just search cf auto root. On the page type sm-t285yd and two options will pop up. Choose one and look for your firmware build. I have not been able to root as of yet, even with this site. It gives you boot/recovery/cf auto-root package. Most of the problems I have faced are due to not being able to get to the recovery once it is flashed in Odin. I will be searching for answers and root until I find one. Of course, I will post it here when I finally break my phone.
Some Light in the Tunnel
I have made some headway with Magisk. I have never used any of the software associated with Magisk, but it seems at least for now, it will do the trick. I will dive into it further tonight and try to post an update shortly.

In order to flash Magisk you need to have a custom recovery right?. So may I know how you did it?.
You don't need a custom recovery for Magisk. From here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445) you follow the odin steps.
there are two ways to install, first was "via custom recovery" and the other "via Magisk Manager v14.0+"
This method does not require root or custom recovery.
you'll need a stock boot image you can extract from tar or md5
Here are the instructions from XDA not my work "By topjohnwu, Recognized Developer / Recognized Contributor on 3rd October 2016, 06:00 PM"
"This method does not need root, and also does not require a custom recovery.
However, you MUST have a stock boot image dump beforehand, and also be able to flash the patched boot image, either through fastboot/download mode or ODIN
Install the latest Magisk Manager
If you're planning to flash the patched boot image through ODIN, go to Settings > Update Settings > Patched Boot Output Format, and select .img.tar. For normal users leave it as the default .img
Press Install > Install > Patch Boot Image File, and select your stock boot image file
Magisk Manager will now patch your boot image, and store it in [Internal Storage]/MagiskManager/patched_boot.img[.tar]
Flash the patched boot image to your device and reboot. Voilà!
Check whether Magisk Manager is installed and the version matches the latest one in the OP
If for some reason Magisk Manager isn't installed/upgraded automatically, please install it manually"
Hope this helps!

Samsung Galaxy tab J SM-T285YD Dual Sim ROOTED
Hello everyone, this is my first post on XDA, I hope I won't be boring anyone. But it seems that there is no complete guide or tutorial to root the SM-T285YD. I will post here what I did to root it, I followed the lead of some of the other users in this thread and some from other sources.
My device is the SM-T285YD Dual Sim. Here is what I did;
I checked which rom I had installed on my device, it was stock rom from Taiwan, ****T285YDZTU0APL2, android version 5.1.1
I googled for the rom and found it somewhere, it wasn't difficult. I went with Magisk. The instructions were: copy the rom to your device. Here comes the problem, the rom is 2GB it will take up the little free storage left on your internal. So I copied it to my SD card instead. Next instruction, install the magisk apk, version 7. Go to settings in magisk and change the output format to what you intent to use to flash it with after you're done. You have two options; *.img or *.tar. I intended to use Odin to flash when I was done, so I chose *.tar.
When you open Magisk, it will tell you it is not installed, so click install, after which two options appear. Choose "patch rom", select the downloaded rom you saved to your sd card and wait. It will produce a patched boot image in *.img or *.tar file of about 8MB and saves it in your download folder in your internal storage. It may save it in the Magisk folder, just look for it once it is done patching. Copy this patched boot file back to your PC and put the tablet in download mode, then flash it, I had a tar and flashed it with odin 3.10.6
A problem that occurred with me was, although I copied the stock rom I downloaded to the SD card, I still didn't have enough space on my internal storage for Magisk to do it's job, so I had to delete EVERYTHING I could. Flashing went lightning fast and the reboot only took a minute or so longer than normal. ROOTED!!!
Good luck everybody. Hope it helps.
(I edited the text here to make it hopefully clearer and easier to understand, some people didn't quite get it, hope it is clearer now. Of course, as always, if you're not sure about it, or new to it, leave it alone. There is always the risk to brick your device)
It should work if you do it right. Good luck!
This doesn't help.
What didn't work, exactly?

It does not work, after flashing when I restart the tablet a red text appears in the left corner saying "KERNEL SEANDROID IS NOT ENFORCING" and it stucks on there. I tried to restart it lots of times also did a factory reset but nothing is working.
Hey, This is my first post, hope it goes well
What happened was,
-->I installed a custom rom(LineageOS) with the help of twrp recovery installed from xda(link below) and I have succesfully installed the rom and also intalled root with it
-->Later, after further use of the new rom, ,it was uncomfortable. It was not as fast and compactable as the original rom so I decided to revert back to the official and original rom.
-->But This is where I made a big mistake, I was to try to clear the data and try if the custom rom fixed but instead, I wiped up the whole rom and no backup!!!
-->Now, I cannot go into recovery mode, bootloader and whichever vol+ and vo- and power, all combinations boot me to twrp.
-->luckyly, the adb sideload is working and it is not detected in the lenovo downloader software for me to flash.
Any help? Please help me.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for replying.
I tried what you've mentioned but no luck.
BTW, I did not find the stock rom zip anywhere, so I am using the lineage os custom ROM.
It boots me back into the twrp.(100% done)

That's an ADB issue.
ADB sideload's progress indicator only shows 100% if transferred size is 2.2 times of ZIP-file size.
Hi, I have waited till 100%

What files are present there? You may have to extract them to get an .img file
I have a rar file which I extracted, there is no folder present.
These are the files present

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply
I'm unable to download the file
It takes me to this tab
Checked it: Link given above is working as expected.
Hi,
I think you did not get me.
You can watch the video below for your reference.

Correct.
Search for suitable Stock ROM at your own.
I've searched for over 3 days but no luck.
All I get is the rar file and inside that, firmware folder, drivers and software for flashing it.
If I get the tab into bootloader, I can flash but it does not allow me to go into boot loader, stock recovery.
All it does is to take me back to TWRP.
I have aldready installed around 7-9 stock roms but no zip file with meta inf folder, boot.img, system.img and the other required files.
Please Help
So I searched the WEB for tablet's Stock ROM and found it within seconds.

You flash it either via ADB Sideload method or via Lenovo Downloader Tool.
Hi,
Even I had found the same one.
But how do I flash it via adb sideload?
The problem is, in the zip file, there is drives, firmware and another folder.
Thanks for replying
Hello Samsuns A02s users,
I know this forum section is for Samsung A02s but I did not found Samsung A03s forum here on XDA. But you can still try installing this apps on your A02s.
Here are the Stock Apps extracted from Samsung A03s stock firmware SM-A037F_INS_A037FXXU1AUJ2_fac.zip. (SM-A037F)
For faster downloads I have uploaded files to Google Drive.

Google banned the access to files due to abusive downloads and removed the files.
To prevent unnecessary downloads I have restricted downloads. Please request for download if you want it.
If anyone want I will upload it to Mega as well.
Hi!
I hope not to bother you, I'm new here and since there isn't a A03s specific forum, maybe I could find some help here.
I have an A03s (SM-A037M) and I want to root it, but as far I know there isn't a TWRP for this model yet and I have never tried other ways. Surfing Google, I have found some tutorials, but I'm not sure how trustworthy they are.
Do you have this device too? If so, have you root it? Hope you can point me on the right direction.
Thank you in advance!

You could root by flashing your Patched ap file with Odin.
I know of someone who is building a TWRP.
I built a kernel for him but I'm not sure if it boots
