I downloaded the iOS gear app for my iPhone a while ago. The article above suggests there's a new update to the watch itself which is rolling out now.
I saw that story too but still no update showing up in the app for the watch. I would like to see the performance improvements but I want to know when should we see the update and what version will we be on.
The update is for Europe and is the one the US received last month.

Yup. I always check Twitter to see if there are any official reports, because websites regularly put up clickbait stories like saw at the END of December, "Samsung announces ANOTHER new smartwatch!" (Referring to the Gear S3 of course)
This article confirms what TScott said:
http://www.express.co.uk/life-style...ung-gear-s3-frontier-update-firmware-features
"Samsung began rolling out the update, which provides a number of stability and performance improvements, last month in the United States, but users in the UK have had to wait until now to upgrade."

Now this just means that we have to wait 6 more months for verizon to let it go!
Yeah for now its only the I9300 international hardware , Verizon has their own schedule, rumored to be Nov. 22. Verizon is always late, usually months late.
Now that 4.4 source is being released, they are just now rolling out 4.3. So chances are we wont see an official 4.4 for the S3 and this will be it's last release. They'll most likely use 4.4 to get people to upgrade to new handsets.

To be fair, Verizon started pushing 4.3 for the S4 right on time. It was also the first US carrier to do so.

I believe they did that just so they could sell the SmartWatch to existing customers since that update gave the S4 compatibility with the watch.

There is a thread for 4.3 discussion and the schedule that manufacturers are following to get Gear compatibility to phones before the Holidays
Saw this news few days ago. Hopefully sooner all Note 3 model can have this feature.
T-Mobile USA's Samsung Galaxy Note 3 got its KitKat update in early March, but the phablet is now receiving an additional update, which adds a couple of Galaxy S5 features. The initial Android 4.4.2 update had a software version N900TUVUCNB4, while this new one is N900TUVUDNE6.

Kids mode is nice, for the ones whom need it.
But the download booster sounds just silly to me, in most country there's a limit on MB's on 3/4G networks.
Or is it just me that my home network is way faster than the 4G counterpart...
ps "Download booster" only combines the 3/4G network and wifi for higher speeds.

Any tested on Note 3 International ?
I have the classic non-4g version of the Gear S2 (SM-R732) and I'm still on R732XXU2BPA4. I have been seeing news and posts about updates (R732XXU2CPB7 and R732XXU2CPC5) for the past month, but still have yet to receive either update. I chatted with Samsung and they told me my serial is invalid (despite buying the watch directly from them). So I'm curious, is there something wrong with my watch or have these updates not rolled out to everyone yet?
I also have original classic non-4g and am still on BPA4 as well. I live in the U.S. In fact I only got this update some weeks ago.

Thanks for this confirmation. I was beginning to think I was the only one. I suspect the update for the US classic non-4g version just hasn't been rolled out yet.

Same here! Thanks for the updates.
Wow. Awesome. It enabled Samsung Pay, said absolutely no one.
My Galaxy Apps app just updated too (new interface, no new content akaik). Let's hope that all these updates are about more than tweaks (e.g., airplane mode), and are laying the foundation for some bigger additions, like Samsung Pay or iOS compatibility.
Someone should do a poll: when do you think Samsung Pay for the Gear S2 will come out? In two weeks? In December, 2016? Or will they decide it's too hard and give up, i.e., never?

Didn't the T-Mobile version just get an update that said something about Samsung Pay? I don't think it was officially enabled, but I suspect Samsung put the update on the watch in place and they just have to unlock it via the phone app now?
I swear the update for my s2 sport at&t 3g just got an update like 2 weeks ago that said samsung pay was part of the update? Still nothing on watch about samsung pay and neither in pay settings on phone.
Mine was updated to r720xxu2cpc5 yesterday. I don't know why mine begins with 720 instead of 730. And after the update my gear s2 isn't even lasting a day. I charged it full in the morning and at 6pm battery was dead. I usually only leave bluetooth on, turning off the wifi. I hope they'll fix it soon. Or maybe my watch has hardware issue?

Yours begin with 720 instead of 730 because you have the Bluetooth version of the watch instead of the 3g/4g version

You could now find Galaxy S7 edge running Android 7.0 on Geekbench listings.
Get the list of such URLs here, and the screenshot.
Would Samsung be able to release the Nougat update before the end of this month?
Even if not, next month is a sure Nougat release month for our S7.

No OEM have EVER released it less than 3 months before Nexus and Samsung is not known for being faster either. When did we get Marsmallow on last years flagships? Q1/Q2.. March, right?

I really believe we could see way faster update this time around.
As the log article lays it out, some Samsung employee said the Note 7 Nougat update would come 2-3 months after its launch, and given that Galaxy S7 ad S7 Edge would get it before the Note 7, it should be due in October. And seeing them devices at Geekbench, I feel very positive.
This year, even a company like Huawei has a Nougat firmware leak for its P9, even before the Nougat OTA rolled out for Nexus devices. Google has definitely shared the Nougat code with major OEMs earlier than usual, I think.
HTC too has upped with game, promising updates for OneA9, OneM9 and HTC 10, before the end of this -- the special thing about the announcement being 'all carriers included' in the 31st December timeline.
So, I'm hoping Samsung is able enough!
What do you say?
I know Google has lately been both publicly and privately "shaming" and aggressively encouraging OEMs and carriers to speed up their update process. This relationship started with more timely security updates and from what I've read is translating over to faster system updates.
I believe unlocked versions will see 7.0 by mid October, and carrier versions by mid November.

Hahahahahaha LOL!!!!!!!!
Both the phones and android os have matured a lot these days; S7 edge with marshmallow on it is already near perfect; I myself don't get excited for the updates as often in the old days; have not even rooted this phone and Rom flashing is not something I'm doing a lot; so I prefer to wait for a polished nougat Rom instead of a rushed one.
Edit: For about ten years I've changed my phone every year as a power user, now for the first time I've been using this device for about five months and am quite happy about it; I'm not planning to change it until the end of twenty four months period if something with a big development does not come.

LG put Lollipop and Marshmallow just days/ a few weeks after nexus on G3 and G4 last year/the year before. So it's possible but samsung won't do it cause they don't need to hurry. See what it did to the note 7 rushing it on the market just to be there a few weeks before apple...
I'm 100% sure that we'll see update in february, just like this year. It's Samsung after all, don't forget it.
Good hope it fixes the stupid android os drain. In back on the og firmware of my s7 edge APB5 as it gives best performance and battery life. Samsung better not f up android 7.0

Yes! In s7 we get only Samsung's apps notification. In the update , others app like whatsapp , Google apps and all the others will be able to put notification on aod too!
Or is it dead and samsung only cares for s3 now ??
Knowing how Samsung works and is profit-orientated there's little to no chance we will see any Tizen 3 upgrade for our Gear S2 devices...
Tizen 3 is not expected in 2017...
No idea if "surprice" in 2018... but I think no...

okay thanks for answers, i asume we will not get it then, ;( its a good watch only con for me is the battery life that could be better, i guess i will buy the s3 next year perhaps when the price has gone down a bit.. for now the s2 will have to do.
