Mate 9 Lock screen Music Controls? - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

Does anyone have any idea on how to enable music controls from the lockscreen? This is geared more towards apps like Spotify and SoundCloud. Any help would be appreciated.

It's only possible with stock player. But you can show the notification of your music app on the lockscreen

This is an EMUI bug.
Spotify controls will appear to lock screen after it has changed first song screen off.
Meaning that you are playing a song and you have closed your screen. Controls will appear to lock screen when next song starts (screen off)
Really stupid bug and hope Huawei will address this in their next update.

@NikiFue @sobelixtus How would I be able to enable the notification on the lockscreen? Even after the next song starts I get nothing on the screen. It really is a stupid bug

Make sure you have enabled Spotify to show information on lockscreen.
Settings - Applications - Spotify - Notifications - "show lockscreen" must be on.

Thank you, it's definitely a temporary fix as of now. ?

If you listen to music via bluetooth, the workaround for me has been to set the bluetooth in my car as an unlocking device in Smart Unlock. Now, hitting the power button brings up the music player's album art / lockscreen controls (I'm using Google Play music).

Firstly you go into notification settings and set the toggles like in my screenshot, then you open your music app, play a song, go to the end of the song (5 sec. Before end) then lock your phone and wait that the next song starts, now press power and you will see the notification with play/next/previous on the lockscreen
Edit: oh sorry, i've seen someone already told you the solution ?

[Q] iPhone-like music controls

Would it be possible to use a hardware track pad (if equipped) to simulate the same thing the iPhone/iPod touch used to do on a double click, that is bring up music controls with a volume slider, Play/Pause, Next, Previous, Song title and Artist? Sorry If this is wrong section.

Idk if you would be able to use the track pad as it would likely just select what you have up on your screen but I think if someone coded it as a homescreen replacement and used the same workaround other devs have for other homescreen additives and let you select your homescreen in the app they make and then that be the one home press and have the music controls be the double press home... or have it as the long press on search and not have any of the home type stuff
bump.
this is a great idea.
Power Strip? I think you could do exactly what you want with the Power Strip app. Not sure if you can use trackpad click though but you can launch it from anywhere using a double-click home button, or other option, and have it overlay your music app widget on top of whatever screen you're on so you can change tracks and whatnot.

[Q] music lock screen

so i was wondering if a lock screen music player could be ported over to the t.f. like everyone has on the galaxy s phones i like to be able to play music from the lock screen and not have to unlock everytime i want to change a song possibly a flashable .zip file or something that would be awesome thanks
i'm kind of thinking (probably incorrectly) that this is a limitation of 3.x
oh google, you and your half baked products! :\

Could you please post a link of what your are talking about? I have the Epic and don't have the feature, or atleast that I'm aware of....
i have the galaxy s and on there lock screens it integrates controls for the music player, when locked if you activate the screen you pull down on the cd image at the top and controls for the player appear, very good feature tbh

I know PowerAMP offers locksceen controls(Not turned on by default, can be turned on in the menu)
But I just tried to use poweramp on my transformer and while the application opens and finds all my music, it does not play any music. I am using the same music that is on my phone, and I use poweramp on that and my music plays just fine.
It is a paid app, but they offer a 2 week trial before you pay anything. I would give it a try if I were you, maybe it is something on my end that is causing the music files to not play.
Use fly screen for tablets for lock screen controls for any app/widget just like widget locker. Execpt Fly screen for tablets is for tablets
works great, just make sure you dont' have a lock/pattern/pin/password on your TF otherwise you have to unlock your tab 2x
setups a little confusing, but i'll try and help if you need any

No, its a skin placed on Samsung and its integrated to their own music player app, HTC does the same thing. Neither the lock screen or the player's integration have anything to do with google. As stated there are applications that include their own integration but Google's music player does not.

Unfortunately there is a bug in Transformer ROM which prevents PowerAMP from scanning folders. This will be addressed in next PowerAMP update.
Thanks for the report!

[APP][3+] Sleep Timer (Music&Screen Off)

Hello XDA!
My Name is Arthur and i recentaly released a powerfull sleep timer.
Sleep Timer (Music&Screen Off) is a sleep timer for your screen in general, and music in particular.
The app lets you set a timer and when the timer expires, it will sleep the device and turn off any music that is playing.
Putting the device to sleep means that perhaps you fell asleep using an app that keeps your device awake but if a timer is enabled, it will sleep your device and save precious battery.
It works just like a Sleep Timer on TV
Sleep Timer softly lowers the volume and then turns your music off. If you have watched a stream Sleep Timer can also turn your screen off.
Simple design and easy to use
Select how long you want the music or stream to play, press Start and Sleep Timer will appear in the notificationbar.
You can extend the length or cancel the timer directly from the notification message.
Google Play Link
I hope you like it!
Update 1.1.0 is here!
Reworked UI (new animations and functions) based on userfeedback
Support for more musicplayer
Could you please add apk in OP. That would be great. Strike that not really interested, too many permissions for a sleep timer.
From the screenshots app looks awfully similar to Simple sleep timer, [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2595326 ]
I mean even your app icon has a similar shadow effect. And, your notification message is an exact replica.
Also, your app is 2.2Mb while Simple sleep timer is only 144K.
So, it is not clear how your app is better.

Please read the description in the google play store. I explained all permissions and why they are necessary.
Like i can't turn your WiFi off if i dont have the permission to do it.
Yes, the timer may look similar because we bouth use a circle seekbar and there are even more apps with circle seekbars and also with shadows in the icon but we are all still very different in our functions. If you just need a "turn off music" and nothing more sleep timer then you should use the Simple Sleep Timer but if you want to turn off your screen and also need more functions then you need someting like this.
You are right, the filesize is too big. I missed to remove some graphics, will correct that in the next update.

Help with notifications and volume changing

Hello guys,
I'm wondering if is there a way to stop the sound volume changing made by notifications.
I'm explaining better: in any mode, with or without sounds or vibrations, when I'm listening to music or watching some stuff and I received a notifications, for example by WhatsApp or email, the sound becomes lower for a couple of seconds and then return to his previous volume. That's very annoying.
Do you know if there's a way to stop this behavior?

Go to Settings\Sound and Vibrations\ and look for Ascending Ringtone. This setting starts sounds low and raises them as it continues

I've tried it, didn't work, it keeps interruptions
To completely stop notifications from interrupting, you have to disable the notification related to the app.
Settings\Status bar and notification\Manage notification. Select your app and go through available settings. Experiment until you find what you're looking for.
Yes I've tried all the settings, nothing changed. Don't know if it's a bug.
Vivo with Oreo 8.1 does not support separate ringing/sound volume alarm form sound alarm notification.
You have to wait until Pie version arrive that add that useful separation.
Here's how sounds volume works on Pie.

Easiest way is to enable the silent mode from control manager while anytime you are watching videos and don't want the notifications disturb you.
Hope this helps!

Confused by notification sounds under vibration mode

Hi, my Pixel 3a is making a sound whenever there is a notification, although I have set the phone to vibrate (even in the do-not-disturb mode!). I have used Android phones for the past eight years, so I think I am pretty familiar with all the little things with Android, but I am just confused to hell about what is going on. I checked a few settings, and they look okay to me (which means that it would behave "normally" on my old phone). I have media volume set to non zero, but that should not matter as I understand.
I think if I turn off app notification sound in individual app's notification settings it should work, but obviously it is a daunting task that I do not want to bother.
I wonder if you can offer some advice. Thank you.

Yeah this confuses me as well. The only way i found was to tap the notifcation symbol again so it turns to the bell with the line through it. But then theres no vibrate either

I still have the notification sounds under the mute mode (and was again waken by a sound at 5am this morning). I suspected this may have something to do with Google Assistant, and while I am not 100% sure about it, I tried something and it worked for me: I turned off "notification access" (Apps & notifications > special app access, or via search) of "Google" and some other apps, tried to trigger notifications, and the phone vibrated/stayed silent as expected. I turned them back on, and everything still works fine. Hope they do not com back.
You may want to give that a try.
EDIT: DO NOT turn the access back on -- it may fail after you reconnect to your Bluetooth headset.

There is a thread for it now:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixe..._bug/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Since these notification channels were implemented, the whole way of the notifications being served got upside down and confusing. R&D forgot at 7.0 already that android is a phone os, some people don't have time to granularly tune each and every app and set the sound and vibrate and other bs.
Same here, Facebook's notifications can come with a weird sound even if I cut off any sound...
