Error message

Google dialer cannot install to mate separately. Problem is not apk, but framework and this part you cannot install when you not have root access and you must install with dialer and contacts from Google.

Without knowing what device you have and based on the info you gave here's my advice.
Try other root file managers to replace the nodded settings apk with the original and fix permissions, then reboot.
If you have tried all root file managers with no luck you may need to flash a custom recovery like twrp and use the built in file manager to do this, then use the fix permission option in twrp
One thing that was brought to my attention was whether you properly compiled the apk. Here's the link to the apk tool with instructions on how to properly use it.

[Completed] [Q] Hangouts editing error

i have decompiled hangouts apk and changed the /res/raw/hangout_audio_call_incoming_ringtone.mp3 which changed the ringtone for incoming voice calls to a custom one... then i successfully recompiled it and signed it (all using androidmulitool)
after installing whenever i open the app as it tries signing in it crashes and if i try to restore the data with titanium backup (so it will be signed in) it will just crash on opening saying "unfortunately hangouts app has stopped"
anyone know what i'm doing wrong or how to fix this ?

Hangouts requires signature to be the org signature, not for you to sign it.
Many threads concerning theming. But the easiest is to copy the changes back into the org apk using 7Zip etc.

1. Compile with Org signature
2. Push to system/app folder
3. Set correct premissions, reboot or
4. Flash it..

[HELP] Restore the stock gallery app

Hi,
I removed/uninstalled the stock gallery app. Even though I have google photo installed, I got an error message when I try to access gallery by clicking the gallery icon in the samsung stock camera app. I also could not set the wallpaper for the lock screen, as when I click the gallery icon in the setting screen, it gave me similar error message saying "app not installed". Could someone tell me how I could restore the stock gallery app, or change the default app to google photo (preferred option)? Thanks in advance for your help!!
If you can find the gallery .apk then install it. If not, then reflash with stock 5.1.1 ROM via odin.
I assume you are rooted since you managed to delete the gallery app.
So if you installed a custom rom, grab the apk from the zip file or reflash the rom.
If you are on stock do this aswell

Google Pixel Dialer?

I'm trying to get the Google Pixel Dialer to work on the Honor 8. I can get the Google Contacts to work just fine, but the dialer will not install. I can grab it from APK mirror.com but again it will not install. Does anyone know why this is?
It needs to be a patched version of the app, by default it's only allowed to be installed on pixel/nexus phones. Here is the version I am using.

This is because Google later altered the dialer (rebuild it as a system app) in order to be compatible only with pixel (and nexus) phones. You can either install google phone as a system app (zip) via custom recovery (if you have unlocked bootloader and twrp installed) or grab the last working dialer apk and install it normally ( http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...oogle-phone-3-01-08_rc8-android-apk-download/).

Changing Default Messaging App

Is this possible? When I change the default message app, it simply reverts back to the built-in one.
I have an RMX2071.
As a side-question, do the current rooting options only apply to the RMX2076? When I try to install the DeepTesting X50.apk, I get an error that there is a signature conflict.
Thanks for any help!
