Hi there, i just want to have feedback on my TaskOS app.
This application show to the users all the apps he opened and never closed. ( leave applications with HOME key and it will appear. Leave with back key and won't appear.)
The user can scroll between all these apps and launch one by clicking on it or kill it by dragging to the top ( like Palm PRE)
That's a beta, but all the mains features are there.
What do you think of it.
PS: i am looking for ROM developpers that would be able to launch it by long click on the "home" button or trackball/other.
Features
* customizable icon size
* wave effect ( i think i'll remove it)
* confirm killing app or not
* notification to launch easily ( looking for people who know ho to integrate this with long press on home button - trackball)
* more to come...
Will come
* theming the bar
* ignore apps by moving icon to the bottom
Screenshots:
Looks nice but why doesn't it show as many apps as say taskiller?
I'm using a Nexus One btw
For what version of Android is this? Can I run this on my 1.5 device with Sense?

I said it here: this application only kills ACTIVE app's. I don't want to kill other apps.

This version is Android 2.1 on my hero. But yes of course, you can use it on a 1,5 device with sense!
nice thought, i like it!
I'm running 1.6 stock and unfortunately it doesn't show up when
i leave any app with home-key, but i find the idea of holding
home-key pressed in order to show up really nice!
...and yeah, i stopped using *press-here-to-kill-all-tasks*
I kinda like it
some suggestions:
- gestures (like from down to up to open it)
- Lock the slide up feature while scrolling
- Maybe previews of apps (would require lots of mem somehow)?
- click anywhere other than the switcher to close the switcher
- don't display apps twice
BTW: what about making an app launcher like the wave launcher from webOS? shouldnt be too hard and very useful
I like the idea of a Pre app launcher, but I want to say something related to memory may bog things down a little bit.

alright. Nevermind the thumbnails by gestures i mean like a system one so you drag up from the bottom of the screen to open taskOS but i guess that isn't possible unfortunately... maybe use a longpress menu to open it? would be great if a different solution was possible to open the switcher up
see news here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5404622#post5404622 to launch with Home key, but i guess i won't have answers.
I think Google should allow users to make custom shortcuts by clicking on buttons!
Ignore function does not work on some screen sizes!!!!
I'll have a look thursday! Be patient
Could you possible add a memory counter at like the corner somewhere to show how much free ram we have? Also, any way to make this look/work a bit more like the WebOS cards if possible?
As for resolution I notice you have a Hero, so I take it you made the res for Hero(my Eris has the same res as the Hero)?

This isn't entirely true.
Some apps need to be force killed.
Android takes care of this only when the situation is really dire.
Why waste the valuable RAM?
Let's say you use App "X" once a day, but it's a resource (memory + cpu) hungry app, like Maps and derivatives.
Now, this is an app which will figure in the active list, but some of them like remaining in the background. Have 5 of those, and your system will work at a crawl.
Now try killing that app. You can really feel the difference, especially if you're using 7201A based handsets (that's 528Mhz).
Take a look at com.eolwral.osmonitor.
IMO, the best task manager around. And it's free (as well as ad-free).
why not mail the author and share some ideas?
You do have a innovative approach to task management (ui-wise).
i don't know if anyone has the same problems, but since last update i keep getting force closes when trying to kill an app!
edit: dis- and reenabling kill popup fixed the problem. weird.

Thank for the feedback!
You are the only one people that I heard having this problem... Really strange but i am glad that Taskos work again!
Next time, send me the logcat so i will be able to correct the bug!
Yeah, it would be nice if we could use TaskOS by holding home... The normal Android switcher is so useless.
very nice app ... will be essential if you find a way to use as task switcher (longpress home)
could you maybe add the option to hide statusbar icon?
also kinetic scrolling would be very welcome
Inertia in scrolling: seem to be so hard to implement.... You will have to wait.
Long press home: Developpers don't have access to this! I will investigate with Custom ROM developers. Imagine all apps can acces home button and you press it!
Ability to remove statusbar icon: will be done in next update.
I think that I left a bug in previous update. Nobody told me and i just corrected this evening. Sorry for the inconveniance!
Short presentation video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9GUlAf5y8k
So does this software now have the ability to load via the home button?
So i have been working on something for awhile it started on paper and Made an example in Photoshop. the Idea is you open the notification bar and you swipe left and right to move through open applications and swipe up to end them Check out attachment.
PS: I am not a programmer so I cant make this happen I just thought of it..
BTW: can you control applications from the notification bar?? if not then this is worthless...
That would be really, really good. And I like your mock-up concept as well.
Sort of like the new Dolphin HD tab browser.
You should suggest this to one of the Launcher devs.
good..because the notification bar is always on top..will be great for multitasking.
That's why I tried to do in TaskOS ( free on the Market.)
I do not use the notification bar, but a long press on the search button ( if your device doesn't have one, in the settings you can choose camera button and will try to add more)
The screenshot should be working in some custom realease of CyanogenMod..

Putting something like this in place of long pressing the home button would be the best way I would think.
I like the idea *!*!
possible? Maybe. I think of the interaction of seepu+ as an interaction example, but I don't even wasn't to think about the memory that would suck up.
Do you plan on having all the apps in memory up there? Cause that's gonnna be alot of swiping to find what you need.
Also you already have the hold down home button. That's accessible even with the notification bar hidden (various browsers, apps hide the not. bar).
I really don't get the desire to have thumbnails on handhelds for what the activity is doing. 1) they will always bee too small to use by glancin 2) you know what your switching to, before you even bring up the recent apps function. 3) There is very little "visual" activities done on a phone that warrant a "preview" in order to choose which you want to pick.
All of you could also try Power Strip and Quick Desk for great multitasking usage with the search and homescreen buttons
ITS a CONCEPT not going to happen by me...
yes, multitaslk view is more important
i like your idea of thumbnail view of each programs running in the background. it allows us to look through all running programs, instead of small icons
If it is possible, it can be shown either using the search or home button
Good concept, but I'd be thinking of using the icon of the software instead of screen preview. Better for privacy...

Hi there!
Check out my new app
Google Play ID
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fossor.wheellauncher
Wheel Launcher is a side panel that sits on top of everything on your device. Wheel Launcher does not interfere with your main launcher, but provides a fast way to reach your favorite apps and shortcuts - just press the semitransparent icon. You can hide the icon by dragging it off the screen. Wheel Launcher allows you to add any shortcut that is provided by your apps, like direct dial any of your contacts or settings shortcut, like battery, sound, Wi-Fi and so on.
Wheel Launcher is in early stages of it's development, so if you have anything to ask, suggest or if you found a bug - do not hesitate to drop me an email.
Features
• Fancy circle design
• Basic shortcuts to some common apps - dial, gallery, email, messaging, camera, drawer
• Support for any app on your device
• Support for any shortcut on your device
• Theme support, not much at this point, but there will be more
• Left/Right sided
I will appreciate, if someone with 4.3 - 4.4 can send me a crash report. :fingers-crossed: Those emulators can't be trusted.
Doesn't crash on 4.4.2
Crashed 4.1.2

Ok I just updated from play store and it's fixed now. Thanks! You've done a great job. It's a really useful and good looking app.
But I'm short on memory and this takes around 30MB of RAM so it's just a luxury I can't keep
But anyone with good amount of memory go for this app

Thanx man! Are you on xxhdpi, cause on my xhdpi the app takes 17MB when it's closed.
There could be more crashes, cause someone said the app wont even start for him. So if someone experiencing the same, i would love to see the log. :cyclops:

Ok since you mentioned 17 MB I gave it another try. And yes without any theme on it's 16/17 MB on xhdpi. Last night I used it with the black theme on so it spiked to 30 MB.
And I already have a Sidebar which takes around 15MB and it serves me well.. So don't get me wrong your app is beautiful and very cool, but I hate the memory constrains I have to deal with
But I'm glad I helped you fix a bug with the log.
Hope people love your app like I did. Regards
It's not crashing on 4.4.2 for me. Great job!
Made some bug fixes and new theme available:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fossor.wheellauncher.androidwhitetheme
Full version with folder support and unlimited number of items is available
Two major updates
1. Added a new white theme.
2. You can now change the position of an item on the main wheel and inside folders
Suggestions
First, just wanted to say that I really like the look of this. Running this on AICP 4.4.2 on a HTC One. Couple of quick suggestions/questions: First, is there a way to turn this on/off and/or a setting to enable on boot? Is there a way to change the position/size of the trigger area?
On a side note, I've used an app called circle launcher (pretty much since it was first released) as a widget on my homescreen to launch my most used apps (about 15 or so). I've really like this because with the launcher icon being transparent, it provides an easy way to launch apps without messing with my layout (no matter what layout i'm using). Have you considered creating this as a widget and/or being able to launch this as a short cut? I could see maybe using this as a custom nav bar button or something similar.

Hi there, thanx and I glad you like it. You can hide the icon by dragging it off screen or by pressing "hide" button on the notification (the app will return when you unlock the device or press "show"). Currently there is no autostart after boot, but it is on the to do list. There is no size changes on the trigger area, but you can change the position by dragging it up or down (it is always floating) and/or by changing side (left or right)
As for a fully transparent trigger area - I saw a lot of feedback (on other similar apps) when users wanted to have a visual representation of this area, so I made it with a flag icon. If there will be more requests to make trigger area fully transparent, perhaps i will add this option too.
And here is some video:
youtube.com/watch?v=uIWDlf1Dai8
New update on both versions:
You can now change icons on a main wheel. Supports most of the icon packs.
Another update:
Trigger now can be set as a rectangular shape in addition to the icon. It can be of any size, color and opacity, up to fully transparent.

Allow me to introduce my app here:
<<I created my apps mainly based on "C"onvenience and "C"ustomization. that's what my app's name "C" stands for>>
C Notice:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ccs.notice&ah=dTx4mbmLYrMc6lw9MjuDlXRLp7A
Receive floating notifications from selected applications and keep track of everything that is important to you, all without needing to access your phone's status bar and directly from the lock screen. Experience a very clean & simple floating window design with a unique colored header display. Upon receiving a new notification C Notice displays a visual reminder of the individual application in the form of a floating icon. All notification icons float on top of any other application and can therefore be accessed and interacted with at any time you want, until dismissed. Make additional use of swipe gestures on icons to trigger quick actions (open, expand, dismiss,...) and interact with notifications of all kind with ease.

really nice app !
But would be nice to have the option : not showing notification over lock screen.....
Hey OP I just got done buying the pro key and leaving you 5* on Play Store...came over here to tell you that I am seriously in love with your app.
It really used to be such a pain in the ass accessing the status bar/notification panel on my OnePlus One, my fingers are not long enough to just swipe it without having to move my whole hand, and your app has solved this problem. Besides that, the ability to see my notifications floating windows without having to open the entire app saves so much time. This is definitely one of my favorite apps so thanks again, and anyone who sees this but has not installed the app yet, go check it out, it's great!!!
(BTW I'm on Mahdi ROM 4.4.4, stock kernel, tons of Xposed modules and scripts running and haven't experienced any compatibility issues w/ this app)

Love the app, been looking for something with the bubble part of the Halo functions
Been working with it last two weeks or so, found a bug, or what I think is a bug - play store notifications gets auto cleared.

I love this app, I missed halo but liked having MW and PW that stock based Samsung ROMs give and this gives me a halo feel. Could it be possible to have a feature that if you do have Pen Window, when you click the notification the app would open in a pen window? Even if you made it a premium feature I'd pay for that.
I've been using C Notice and C Locker for a few days. Both have great potential, both well worth to buy the premium version.
Focusing on C Notice, it can be a very viable replacement for Floatification. As I've read and experienced, the dev for Floatification is not all that responsive and it's been buggy. Searching for a more capable replacement is what led me to C Notice.
A few requests:
1) Allow the notice/popup to directly delete (for example, Gmail) messages, and directly reply on those apps that have those functions in the notification bar.
2) Have a separate setting for timeout for lockscreen and unlocked. This is how I want to use it: Lockscreen--the display DOES NOT turn on automatically, but when I turn on the screen, I want to see the notifications. After a period, I want the notification to timeout and go away--this is so that the screen will automatically turn off. As you know, if C Notice stays on the lock screen, the display won't turn off. This is useful if I bumped my phone and the screen turned on. This way, it will turn off automatically after a few seconds.
While I am using the phone--I want C Notice to appear and not timeout until I act on it. When I am in the application that initiated the notification, though, I do not want C Notice to pop up (very simlar to a function available in Floatification).
If the above two are implemented, C Notice can completely replace Floatification.
3) For future consideration--to allow seperate Gmail and Hangouts notification--allow the selection of specific Gmail accounts and lables and specific Hangouts accounts for notification.
I'd gladly pay several times the current premium price....
Thanks for your work.
I had C Notice on my Samsung 3 and, so I thought, it would ring back at set times for reminders that I had not dismissed. Now, in my Note 5 I cannot find the option. Have I lost my mind?
How do I Uninstall c notice
Can You make the same style of round notification i cnotice as in the clocker? Now on cloker I can watch a preview of sms email etc. and have the contact photo on notify icon. On cnotice I have the number of unread notifications but not on cloker.
Please make same options in both of Your apps.
Is it possible to enable/disable this app from for example Tasker?
Regards Peter
Could you add quick reply feature like in Floatify?

Hi guys, and thank you for all of the informative posts in this forum. I recently traded my 4a for a Flip 3, and find myself really missing so many elements of the pure Android 11 experience. Any advice on how to get a little functionality back?
- Multitasking pane behavior: the window switcher button automatically flips to the previous app instead of just bringing up the app tray. Additionally, my beloved Screenshot and Select tray buttons are gone - I just started getting used to using the picture copy functionality.
- Dialer: I installed the Google Phone app and have it set as my default calling app, but incoming calls still don't have the Decline / Screen / Accept red/blue/green buttons.
- Settings shade menu: I'd like the brightness control to appear at the very top of the pulldown. Really, I just want stock Android everywhere.
- App tray: flick up to get to your apps, but then have to flick sideways to page through them? Ridiculous.
Any advice would be appreciated. I hate the idea of bloating my phone with a ton of apps to customize the experience, but it seems like there's no way to run a stock Android launcher in place of OneUI.
You could try Good Lock on Galaxy store.

Only works on Pixel phones: exclusive feature.
Don't want to come across as a jack ass but sounds like you need to switch back to pixel phones. Or like one other person said try good luck from Samsung store.

Give some of the Samsung features a try. You are talking the difference of a single click to return to the previous app and there are only about 10 ways to take a screenshot, ranging from gestures to keys.

There are 1000 custom apps for this stuff, but you only need one of each. Once you find ones you are satisfied with, it's not incredibly hard to hide the stock ones away and forget they exist

If you want a truly stock experience, unlock the bootloader and build a generic version. Samsung hands you all the tools and instructions.
As for advice, I suggest actually trying the phone before trying to make it a Pixel. It isn't. It never will be. If you prefer Pixel, stick with Pixel.
