Anyone knows of an aad blocker to use for non rooted phones for chrome?
I use yandex(based on chrome) + addblock for samsung internet browser.
I use adguard
It blocks ads by creating a local vpn. It isn't available in the app store since google removed them. The app can actually block in-app ads as well if you buy the premium version. If you do buy the premium version use their mobile website and change currency to Russian rubels, it is significantly cheaper than other currencies. If all you want is to block browsing ads you don't need premium.
Adguard is ok but the vpn is eating the battery.
No, Adguard doesn't eat the battery. All internet connections go through the VPN, so it appears as if it's a high battery eater. That being said, some older versions did eat battery, but I haven't seen it on mine. I've gotten great SoT.
I give two thumbs up for Adguard. In premium version you can set it up to deny Facebook ads and such. It has a me a lot of bandwidth, but more importantly it has made Chrome fast.
I use AdClear from seven.com.... i tried some adblocker, but this one definitly satisfy me
and is free ...

Why on earth is talkback using that much data when I dont even have the service enabled??
Next up is nova launcher prime. I did grant it permission to collect data but that much in just a month??
Next up is beautiful widgets, again why on earth does a weather app need to use that much data??
Next up is clean master, I dont even use it that much so how could it be using that much data?
The last one is actually the most shocking one "MultiTouch tester" app because I havent even opened that app in like months.
Is it really normal for apps that gather data to do it that much in a month? Not only does it seem a problem with privacy but also with battery life under wifi. Remember all of these apps have many downloads and great ratings on the play store so its not a case of them being shoddy apps.
What is your opinion on all this?
I'd like to invite you all to test free facebook client: Super Light for Facebook
Google Play link: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.atec.superlightforfacebook
It's not as powerful as original client, but it has some other advantages.
very lightweight if you want to save storage space
lack of annyoing processes in background
compatibility with most devices because it uses android build in web browser engine
no address bar like in traditional web browser
you can: browse content, chat, like, upload photos, open links and videos, etc...
both Standard and Pro versions are Ad free
If you need version with more features take a look at Pro release.
App is still under development, so if you got any ideas how to improve it, don't hesitate to comment.
I like the idea. I don't use Facebook too often, although I use an old version of the app for contact sync. But that version doesnt really function for anything else but its low filesize unlike the newest version of the app. That's where an app like this comes in handy. If I should think of any suggestions it would be to hide the scrollbar, which it seems like (on your pics) that it is but on my phone it shows and it adds this weird whitespace:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Also, another thing, does this app cache anything?
FREE USB TETHER ***NO ROOT***
Im sure most of you have heard of this app but some might not.
One of the main reasons i immediately root my phone is to get Free WiFi Tether.
After reverting to STOCK to get the OTA upgrade to KitKat i decided to stay on stock UnRooted for a while
and since i am in constant need of an internet connection when on the road, i found this app to be very useful.
The only downfall is that you need to install something on the computer you want to connect but you can conveniently store this program on your phone.
AND theres an installation wizard that is fool-proof included in the app.
Check it out and hit the thanks button.

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy s5 but I have bloadware on it.
My battery drains extremely fast.
I added a picture with the name etc.
i62 DOT tinypic DOT com SLASH xm8rax DOT jpg
None of those are bloatware, all save two of them are 3rd party apps that were downloaded later. The system apps are Calendar Storage and, I think, Trip Widget. Neither of those two is the problem.
Looks like that game is the culprit. Try using Greenify to force-stop it after you stop playing.
I'll include your image here for you, for everyone else's convenience:

More than bloatware, I've found that there are some Android services that really eat the battery alive. If you don't need them, try disabling Google Now, and most of all disallowing google from tracking your current position. THIS one in particularly can change your battery life.
You have to root, try towelroot and then use appmaster or apkmaster, or if you don't want to delete but you want to have them gone, try using appfrezer, hope I helped

Try to install system app remover
Or stop and turn off the apps you don't want to see in apps manager if you don't want to root it
Is there any decent Gallery app for Android phones? Google Photos is great, but I'm looking for a simple gallery app similar to OEM-based gallery apps from Samsung, OnePlus etc. with no bloatware or annoying popup ads.
Paid or free, which one do you use?
QuickPic
You said it: simple gallery. Look for it on the playstore.
Avoid recent official versions of quickpic.

Don't use Quickpic use Piktures.quickpic was bought by Cheetah Mobile last year. The company immediately started uploading users’ data to their own servers, as evidenced by one Google Plus user who found a raft of new DNS requests that were attributable to the app.
