Where could I obtain a stock boot.img for my T-Mobile S7 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Where could I find the stock boot.img for this phone? I had rooted it via the modified boot.img(That annoyingly makes the Governor Performance by default, otherwise I'd have no issue keeping this but I can't) and I want the stock boot.img just in case I want to go back to stock to sell this phone or something other then that.
I tried looking for it but I did not find it. I'm sorry if it was simple and I just was blind and didn't where to download it
Model: G930T
Baseband Version: G930TUVU4APK1
Build Number: MMB29M.G930TUVU4APK1

As stated in root method
You need to download trickster mod in app store set the governor to interactive and check mark set kernel on boot
That's the most necessary fix and boom works golden .
Other wise down load the stock Odin tar file and extract it to folder and only flash the stock boot image you'll have to extract it from the whole firmware download .

That wasn't an issue. I know how to do this. My phone is completely functional and normal. However if I were to sell my s7 I would need to have it back to stock because an average person wouldn't know how to do this and shouldn't if not necessary.
But anyway, thank you for the stock image.

THIS METHOD UNROOTS AND GOES BACK TO COMPLETE STOCK. Go to http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model and search up SM-G930T. Download all the files then extract the zip files. Put your phone in download mode and open up Odin on your computer. The folder should have an AP, CP, BL, CSC and HOMECSC file. In Odin, press the corresponding buttons and select the file for that button (ex: AP button, and select the AP file. Flash ALL the files. For the CSC I think the HOMECSC is the T-Mobile CSC which I think affects mobile networks. I just use the regular CSC. Flash and wait for your phone to reboot. It should show the lock with the (Custom) but that should disappear after a reboot or just go to dev options and disable OEM unlock. Just ask if you need assistance.

Did you find a way to get it back to stock. I've tried with odin but I keep getting failed. If you did how did you do it?

Somewhat, yes. I had some S7 boot/recovery files that were laying around (Unidentified but they worked for me) that I obtained from a S7 FRP Unlocking tool (My friend works at a phone shop, so that's how I originally obtained this)
Here are the downloads for the s7 files I used (Boot.img)
Although* My s7 is experiencing issues however the issues started before flashing this boot.img , so it may not be related. But if you do have any issues then it quite obviously is related.

EDIT: I believe that it(the boot.img) is from G930TUVE2APD7

I never had replied to this, sorry. But it didn't work. They don't have my model. They have quite a bit of firmware, they have the firmware from 08/07/2016 but they don't have G930TUVU4APK1(Which is what I need) / G930TUVU2APC8 / G930TUVE2APD7 (T-Mobile) sadly

Didnt know there was an ND5. There wasnt even an ND5 when I downloaded the kernel source code from samsung. And nope, There like 2 knox files in the entire firmwares which is just left behind crap I believe. Absolutely does not give you a knox bootloader and crap tho. Do make sure your tablet is a T230NU model and not just a T230 model.
Thanks a lot for this. So if I'm rooted and want to install system updates I would first backup data to sd card via titanium ,(or to pc?) , then factory restore via settings, Odin with this firmware, install updates, then vroot + terminal supersu, then restore backups.... correct? I'm still trying to figure out what bloatware is safe to remove...a guide on how to clean a out of the box tab 4 7.0 would be greatly appricated....
Will this Root my T230NU?
Hi, I am new to the Android market and I was wondering if this "stock" image will root my Samsung Galaxy 4 T230NU.
I am a formerly iDevice owner and I am quite familiar with Jailbreaking.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hello Ed,
I'm kind of new as well however I can tell you that this process will not root it. In my case, because I updated the software I had to use the stock Rom in order to downgrade and then root it. ShinySide explains the.. Rooting procedure in another post
thanks!

I just used these links to download the firmware and they worked great. Mega took 1/3 as much time to pull from as Sammobile. Thank you Shinyside! You are awesome. If I wasn't a broke college kid I'd would def donate.

So I rooted my Tab 4 7" and then decided to switch to Nexus 7 and sell my Tab 4. Both great devices but the specs and updates draw me to try Nexus after the Tab. Anyway, I went to Sammobile to get the Stock rom and inadvertently ended up with the Nook version. OOOPS. Had to reflash but the second firmware I downloaded from Sammobile (at about 1 hour each, ugh) kept failing. Even after wiping the Cache and resetting I could not flash with Odin. Tried placing the image on the SD and installing in Recovery and still no luck. Then I turned to the ONLY source for self support of Android and found ShinySide with the stuff I needed. Downloaded with the Mega link which took 20+ min instead of an hour and it flashed straight away and my Tab 4 is back to being a Tab 4 instead of a Nook. Just wanted to give props to ShinySide for his efforts on behalf of the community and his patience to put up with noobs even when they do/say silly stuff!
Thank you so much!!
Ive been trying to download this file from all these crappy sites and they keep timing out thank you so much.

HI so i tried installing twrp recovery for my SM-t230NU And it got stuck in bootloop after trying to load custom recovery. Not a single Tar file md5 file worked until i got this rom and USED odin to install it. Odin just kept crashing on me till I got here and used the md5 file provided. It pushed the files while in download mode and rebooted and even still had all my apps and email going.
Again thank you so much and please reply if you have the same device and need help. I thought i bricked my Christmas present.

[GUIDE] How to fix IMEI / DRK issues

This Guide works on both the S7 and S7 Edge.
This also works on other Samsung device including Snapdragon variants as long as you have the correct files for your device.
FIll out my form if you require assistance
S8 users go HERE
This guide is for those of you with EFS issues. This can cause your IMEI and/or Baseband to show Unknown or a bunch of zeros. The guide can also be used to fix DRK errors, but if your Device Root Key (DRK) is corrupt or missing, this guide will fix your IMEI/Baseband but will not fix your DRK error.
The guide gives instructions on how to flash the combination firmware. This installs the factory binary which allows your phone to read your IMEI and DRK. This should then restore your IMEI and DRK and then when you flash stock, the phone will be working as normal. If the Device Root Key (DRK) is corrupt or missing, this guide will only fix the IMEI, the DRK errors will still remain.
I take no responsibility for any issues that arise from following this guide. Do so at your own risk. The smallest mistake can cause a much bigger issue so make sure you know what you are doing and follow every step word for word!
Please note that this will not work for everyone
Some people will still face getting stuck at boot when flashing the combination firmware.
This means you have at some point flashed firmware that is later than the latest combination firmware and unfortunately, it is not possible to fix this by downgrading the firmware to an earlier version.
Before you proceed, you're going to need the following:
A copy of your phones stock firmware saved to your computer. If you do not already have these available on your computer, you can go HERE or you can use this tool to download the latest firmware for your device. Alternatively, you can find your firmware on SamMobile but this can take forever to download with a free account.
[IMPORTANT!] Switch off Factory Reset Protection (FRP) by going into Developer options and turning on 'OEM Unlock'. If you do not see 'Developer Options' under settings, then go to Settings > About Device > Software Info and keep tapping 'Build Number' until it confirms "You are now a developer" then go back to the main Settings screen and you will see Developer options.
if you skip this step, you only have yourself to blame if something goes wrong.
Odin. If you do not have it, download it from here
The Combination Firmware (Factory Binary). Download the combination firmware relevant to your phone (links below) and extract the .rar archive somewhere you will remember.
S7 International [G930F/FD] - (Mirror) [UPDATED 03/11/2017]
S7 Edge International [G935F/FD] - (Mirror) [UPDATED 03/11/2017]
S7 Canada [G930W8] - (Mirror)
S7 Edge Canada [G935W8] - (Mirror)
S7 Edge AT&T [G935A] - (Mirror)
Files for other models available on request via my form

Now you have all the files you need, follow the guide below to repair your S7.
There are 2 methods.
The first method (Method 1) is quick and can solve most issues. Especially DRK errors.
The second method (Method 2) is to use if Method 1 does not work. This guide requires more work and therefore takes a little longer.
Method 1
Boot into recovery and wipe data.
Put your phone straight into Download Mode (do not reboot or boot up the system between wiping data and booting to download mode). To do this, you can use recovery to reboot to Download mode. Alternatively, switch off your phone and hold 'Power' + 'Volume Down' + 'Home' until it boots to download mode. Then connect the phone to your computer with your USB cable.
Open Odin, press the 'AP' button and select the Combination tar/md5 file you downloaded/extracted earlier. Then press the 'Start' button. (If you have any errors while flashing, first make sure you are using the correct firmware for your phone. If it is still throwing errors, remove the ".md5" from the end of the file name and try again).
When Odin has completed flashing the combination file, it should boot into the Factory Binary. You may get a message asking you to reboot. Click reboot (If you do not get prompted to reboot, do a reboot manually).
When it has booted back up. Press the 'IME' button at the bottom of the screen and type *#06#. You should now see your IMEI has restored.
Now restore the stock firmware using the firmware you downloaded earlier. (If you're not sure how, follow this guide)
You should now have a restored IMEI. If not, this means your efs is damaged. Therefore, you will need to follow Method 2 below.
Method 2
You will need to start on a rooted device. If you are not rooted, follow this guide to root your phone or flash CF Auto Root in Odin.
Before you continue, it is extremely important that you backup your EFS partition, even if it is corrupt. You can backup the EFS partition using THIS APP. If you skip this step, you only have yourself to blame if something goes wrong and you have no backup to restore.
Download Root Explorer (Paid) or Root Browser (Free). Open 'Root Explorer' or 'Root Browser' (whichever you installed) and browse to the /efs folder located in the root of the device.
Inside the /efs folder, delete everything EXCEPT the 'FactoryApp' and 'prov_data' folders.
Reboot. Make sure it does a full reboot. When the phone boots back up, you may some errors or unusual settings, this is normal and nothing to worry about.

Still Getting a DRK error?
If you are still getting a DRK error then you probably have a corrupt or missing Device Root Key (DRK). Unfortunately, this cannot be fixed without a JTag box (which aren't cheap). However, you can continue to use the phone as normal by flashing the no-verity zip in TWRP. You can then go ahead and use your phone as normal. Unfortunately, you will no longer be able to receive OTA updates. All updates will need to be made through ODIN and the no verity zip will need to be flashed every time a new firmware is flashed. However, you can still use custom roms as normal. Other than OTA updates, the DRK issue will have no effect on the use of the phone. You can still update via Smart Switch but will need to install TWRP and flash the no verity zip after every update.
If you would like any assistance in fixing your issue such as Method 1 & 2 do not work for you or if you have a different model than what is listed in this guide, please complete THIS FORM and I will try to get back to you ASAP (unfortunately I cannot always respond)
Many thanks to everyone that has donated!!
If you would like to donate, you can do so by clicking here
As you can imagine, finding fixes and assisting people takes a lot of my time so it's always great to receive a donation. Thank you.

What else can this factory binary do? Can it restore the original CSC? I had an AFG CSC phone and after playing around with different roms, when I go back to the original firmware (although it is a multi CSC), it chooses XSG rather than AFG no matter what I do.

What I meant is that when you say you now have a different CSC, how did you know this.
This firmware basically just feels the phone where to read the imei, baseband, and other info. This does not include the CSC.
PM me for my email address and then if you email me a backup of your EFS, I will have a look and restore your CSC for you.

I see. Phone info won't show the original csc without root.
But how do you explain that despite using the appropriate firmware with odin, it always defaults to xsg rather than the original afg from the multi csc firmware?

Because you flashed another region firmware, wipe data -> All original csc will get remove. You flash back and will only get default csc. If you rooted, you can change to afg csc
Thank you CuBz90 for your great work.
I flashed the superman rom but selected the wrong CSC.
I always backup my EFS in internal storage, but today I accidently wiped my entire internal storage. LOL
I have tried your method but unfortunately my imei is still missing, I'm totally frustrating. I will follow your thread. hope some expert can figure this out.
To everyone that has PM'd me, please bare with me. I have received a hell of a lot of PM's and I am trying to get through them all. Don't worry, I will definately reply and help you as best as I can.
Please make sure you are on your original stock firmware before trying this method. I notice a lot of people have PM'ed about CSC, I will PM you with info on how to revert this but please follow my steps exactly how I write them, a lot of people have PM'ed me to say "it's not working" but I have later found they are not following my steps exactly how I say and instead are taking shortcuts. Tried to root, failed, total noon here.

Hey guys, today I tried to root my t-mobile s7 from a random YouTube video I found. After flashing a file from Odin, my phone got stuck in a boot loop.
I did a factory reset from recovery and the phone started up fine.
Now here's my problem, after doing a reset, the first thing I noticed was that while I was booting up the phone. It showed the usual Samsung Galaxy S7, followed by an unlocked padlock with the words "Custom" under it.
2nd issue. My phone just looks a lot different than when I originally bought it. It is also very sluggish, experiencing a lot of lag.
I've looked up how to go back to stock firmware but I'm not sure which one to use.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm currently on the PG1 firmware.
It appears you still have the eng kernal... You can just re-run the root.bat and install SuperSu, or if you want complete stock follow the steps below:
*Also Before you try this turn it off and let it charge for 45 min-1 hour or so...*
1. Volume Down + Power + Home to put it in download mode
2. Then press Volume Up to continue past the warning screen even if nothing is displayed.
3. Grab The Latest Version of Odin here
4. Then Download The Stock Firmware, in this case you will need whichever version you have (if you do not remember you can just download the latest available firmware) Download Firmware and then extract it. (If you have 5 different files in the zip go to step 8)
5. Then install Samsung device drivers(if not already).
6. Start Odin, Plug in the S7, Load in the tar.md5 in the AP/PDA and uncheck Auto Reboot and Repartition.
7. Let the phone restart... VIOLA!!!
8. Alternatively if the zip has 5 files... They should all start with the corresponding buttons in Odin For Example:
AP_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
BL_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_TMB_G930TTMB3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
HOME_CSC_TMB_G930TTMB3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
After they are entered into Odin you hit start and after a few minutes ... It should be fixed....
Let me know if you have any further questions or issues...
The custom is normal since you flashed a modified kernel.
Follow this instructions here for rooting / unrooting.
Most of these applies to Tmobile S7, expect specific ones mentioned for Verizon.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
Thanks man, I'm gonna try to finish rooting. I thought my phone was just screwing up and the first part of the rooting process failed, since the bootloader.
I also tried sammobile and the download won't start.
If I were to download an earlier firmware, would I be able to update it to the most recent one?
Is it possible to revert to stock without wiping data?

AP_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
BL_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_G930TUVS3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_TMB_G930TTMB3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
HOME_CSC_TMB_G930TTMB3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546176_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
After they are entered into Odin you hit start and after a few minutes ... It should be fixed....

What is the difference between the csc and the home csc files and which is the correct one. I don't see a home tab in odin

You can just use CSC and not the CSC Home.
Quick question, I bought a used s7 edge off Craigslist and when it's asking me to log in with another guys email. I tried contacting the guy I bought it from but he hasn't texted me back yet. Can I root it and install another rom on it to bypass the lollipop lock? Thanks guys.

Wait did you try rooting the s7 or s7 edge... (Or is the s7 edge completely unrelated to the brick)

[Odin] [Official] [Stock] APK1 TMobile..TMB_G935TTMB4APK1

Here is a zip file of the current stock tmobile rom. TMB_G935TTMB4APK1
The zip contains 4 files:
1. BL
2. AP
3. CP
4. CSC
This way you can choose what you want to flash.
Here it is >>>>>> TMB_G935TTMB4APK1
Here is just the modem >>>>>>>>APK1 MODEM
Make sure when using odin you put the files in the correct slots..
BL = BL (bootloader and/or kernel)
AP = AP ( main software with all stock apps)
CP = CP ( modems)
CSC = CSC ( customer service version, Sales code data, Pit File)
easy. Now remeber that if you flash the BL (bootloader) you might not be able to revert back to a previous version. Use at you own risk. I am not responsible if you mess your phone up or destory the world.
This is here to help out.. I might be new to this S7 EDGE forum, but iam not new to the Samsung Galaxy family of phones and other forums on here..
can u please provide google drive link for it????
thanks in advance

This is not a modified stock rom. This is bone stock, just broken down into 5 parts so you can choose what you want to install onto your phone. Most dev use just the ap and modified it. This lets you just update the ap, cp without loading the latest bl so you dont lose root.
As with any latest update from T-Mobile, be careful what you update as you might lose root and not be able to downgrade to a previous rom.. This is mainly due to the update to the BL file..

Yes I am aware of that because I am not on T-Mobile firmware, so I coulnt check the changelog from my device. I either couldnt find the changelog on T-Mobile website
No disrespect to Op but I would not download and flash files unless it was from a legit source

No disrespect?? These files were pulled from smart switch which is from sammy direct. The is no reason for me to post something that is not legit.. So if this is not legit why are you here on xda, and then post links to other sites. That to me does not sound legit.. If you dont like it and dont trust it, leave and dont download it.. Plain and simple..
Lets stay on topic here....................

You misunderstand.
There is HOME CSC and CSC. If he used the wrong one originally, it will wipe the data and will not give the standard T-Mobile data service symbol.

need more info? what file did you flash?
I flashed ap without any errors.
Thanks OP, your CP file worked beautifully.
What is the difference between some of the OTA having TMB vs TUVU in their versions? Is it some sort of region identifier? My original OTA update was the TUVU version and I'm wondering if it makes a difference in using the CP file from the TMB variant, etc.
Thanks in advance guys!
Hey all. I didn't know you can't root the APK1 firmware. I updated my phone for 3 to there be firmware but didn't like battery performance so I flash back to the TMB G935U API3 firmware, that battery performance is much better than T-Mobile firmware. I like the white page and less bloatware.

Also it's very easy to FLASH BACK TO THE G935U FIRMWARE, just put the files in order and click 5 1/2 minutes you finish.
Just wondering if someone could upload the CP File only.....I'd hate to just download the whole 2GB just to get a small .bin file.

sounds like your device tried to update to an older firmware than what was already on it. Not a huge problem. Just go to www.sammobile.com/firmwares and use either Frija or Samfirm to download the firmware (they bypass the throttled speed that samfirm.com chokes us to death with). The files are huge and if you dont use one of those tools, itll likely take the better part of an hour to download them.
Anyways, once you have that file, unzip it, launch Odin, put your phone in download mode, connect it to your pc and put the proper files in their respective fields in Odin. There will be 2 CSC file types in the firmware package and you can choose whichever one you want, but CSC will factory reset it, HOME_CSC will not factory reset it and itll not wipe all your data. Id use the HOME_CSC first and if it doesnt work, then you will have to resort to the CSC file and start fresh.
lemme know if any of that doesnt make sense or whatnot

depends on which CSC file you use. HOME_CSC wont factory reset it, CSC will. When you are flashing files in Odin, youll have to load up 4 files into Odin, the .zip files have 5 within them. 2 CSC files and 1 of each of the others. CSC is when you want to drop a nuke, HOME_CSC is when you just need to use C4 instead

there is zero way to have zero risk when talking about digital storage.
download this
to download this unzip it and put it in a folder where you can find it
and then download this unzip it and install it. Itll prompt you with a CMD dialog box, just select yes and let it do its thing. Might need to grant admin permissions
and then go get this
put your phone into download mode (power it off, hold volume dn + pwr until it warns you that installing a custom OS can blah blah and tell it to continue)
launch Odin and put the respective files in the 4 respective place holders within Odin making sure that of the two CSC files, that you select HOME_CSC and not CSC.
^^^^^^^ this part is CRITICAL ^^^^^^^^^
once all the 4 files are loaded and ready to go (the HOME_CSC will take a few minutes from the time you select it, which will make you think you did something wrong. You didnt, its over a gig for that file, it takes a bit to load it up) hit start, let it flash and your phone should return from the grave

And what are the four files called also someone told me i should open up the phone and clone the flash chip so when i do the method you told me it will boot up nornally and all my data will still be there? And i will have to put in my password that i had before is there anyway to backup the entire. Flash chip to the laptop just in case?

dude, youre all good. matter of fact, you caught my incorrect link, for which i apologize.
the 4 files are called "bootloader" "CSC" "PDA" and "Phone" (phone could also be CP for "cell phone")
here is the link for the W version https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g...e/SM-A530W/XAC/download/A530WVLS9CSL1/313555/
cloning your phone is a sure fire way to make sure you dont lose anything, but by flashing the HOME_CSC along with the other files will reinstall Android on your phone but leave all the personal data.
I dont think youll have to put your password in anything in order to clone it, but i dont know on that one. @TheMadScientist what do you think on that one, or the process i laid out in general?
OP, now ya gone and done it!! you made me call in the mad scientist!!

Try flashing just the bootloader in odin only. Unlick nand erase. The 4 files are as follows so ya know
CSC (Consumer Software Customization): It is specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding and APN setting.PIT (Partition Information Table):You only need it if you screw up your partition table or if the firmware specifically requires it because of a change in the partition table layout.BL (Bootloader):*As its name implies, this option is used to flash the Bootloader of the device.AP (Application Processor or PDA):Android.CP (Core Processor):*We call it Modem.
---------- Post added at 11:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:37 AM ----------
As a last note. Your device has a bit 8 bootloader and whatever was flashed is bit 7. Thats that error
