My phone updated to B21 today and now Android Pay no longer works. Pay complains it does not work because it can not verify the version of Android. Prior to the upgrade, pay worked fine.
Anyone else have this problem??

Can confirm I am having android pay issues as well. It was buggy for me on b12 and now on 21 I have yet to get it to notice the NFC terminal. My card is still registered in but that's as far as I got.
Before this last update Pay worked well for me. The key for me is I did not realize the NFC sensor is on the front top of the phone and not the back and you have to unlock with a PIN and not the fingerprint.
All the cards I added before the update are still in pay but they no longer work. The easiest way to test, without the need to be at an NFC terminal, is try to add a new card.
You should get an error message that pay won't work on this phone...
Android Pay has been fixed in the B21 firmware as of about 5pm Eastern today.

So SafetyNet API must of got updated server side...
Android Pay, and other apps like Pokémon Go, use the Google SafetyNet API to verify your device hasn't been rooted or modified in other ways. It does this by creating a hash checksum of your device and verifying it server side against a known "good' hash of the device on the server. If they don't match, SafetyNet triggers a modified response and the app gets an unsafe message. How the app responds to that varies, Pokémon Go won't allow you to play and Android Pay won't let you add cards or make payments, other apps may vary in an unsafe or modified response.

guys where to download B2017G "Build 21"?

I've just spent the past couple of hours trying most of the available apks for Google Wallet. I did manage to get the 1.1r67-v12 version installed and running, however when I go to activate it tells me my hardware is not supported. Supposedly this was a known issue for G3 users on other carriers and Google released a fix for Sprint users. I have yet to find this update available in the form of an APK.
If anybody has access to a Sprint S3, could you please get me the APK?
For those interested, Google for a download link to the 1.1r67-v12 and using root explorer, copy it to both system/app and data/app and then reboot. Make sure the perms are correct (google it, rw--r--r or something similar.
My next steps are to try the build.prop trick in combination with the above apk.
If anybody else has any progress on this, please post below.
Thanks

Wait where did you get this idea? Wasn't NFC one of the key features of the Galaxy s 3? it would seem pretty silly for them to take it out. Then again they locked the boot loader =/

The Verizon page for the GS3 has S-Beam as listed. It wouldn't be listed if it didn't have NFC.
Verizon probably won't allow Google Wallet because they have a competing product, called ISIS. Bummer.
**Warning....wild speculation follows....
From what I can tell there is something missing (might be a bug) in the current version of our OS that isn't letting Google Wallet recognize the NFC device. Sprint had the same issue and apparently there was an update released OTA that fixed the issue for most everybody. If we could somehow get ahold of the before and after image and figure out exactly what was changed, we should be able to emulate they fix on the Verizon phone and get Google Wallet working.
I'm going to keep banging away at it, but there are plenty here way more experienced than I.....so here's hoping somebody else is looking at this.
ok...so the Market Enabler trick doesn't work either.
Obviously Google Wallet recognizes our NFC chip as if I turn it off Wallet will complain that it is off until I turn it on.
I've pulled down the two OTA's that Sprint has pushed out. One of which is supposed to fix the issue on Spring S3's.
Anybody know if its possible to extract the files within the updated boot.img files and apply them somehow post boot since we can't modify the current boot.img on the phone?
If anybody is a dev or knows a dev and they wouldn't mind taking a look at this thread, please let me know.

I fully agree.....however I'm sure there are plenty of people out there with the skills required to do this who aren't working on the boot loader problem.
If I knew more than I do now i'd be working on the bootloader problem myself...however my current lack of skills would only serve to impede progress so instead I'm trying to work on stuff wanted by many others.
+1 on this issue.
I just talked to Verizon who said it was Samsung's fault and I talked to Samsung who said it was Verizon's fault, regarding Google wallet not working. So sick of the nonsense.
Christ our backwoods local little country food store has NFC payments. I'm so sick of this crap this should have been our phone and working. I will not be using any Verizon payment systems, screw them.

Its definetly verizons fault. It works on all other carriers yet only verizons phone has the most problems and also their public support behind ISIS only adds fuel to the fire. I wish Verizon listened to their customers for once and stopped trying to control everything.

I installed 7.8 today on my lumia 800 and apparently, the app is not available. It says the phone is not up to date, or the app is not available due to carrier/region constraints. Any ideas what to do about this?

you've installed an unreleased OS update and are wondering why apps don't work with it yet...
theres any number of reasons it might not work at this point, lets wait until an official update is released, (zune!) and see if they update the app.
as for the Focus, assuming its unlocked we can make it look like any device / version we can think of

The update is officially out, if you want to install it through nokia care. Nokia representatives confirmed, but i can't be bother to find the posts.
Any new lumia 7.5 model will get the 7.8 update out of the box. Existing ones can get it though care if they don't want to wait. They are currently working on a way of updating existing phones WITHOUT wiping all data.
So, bluetooth share is an issue right now, as many others reported (even in the marketplace comments).

7.8 has not been officially released by anyone regardless of where it is available
it would be most unfortunate that this turned in to a situation similar to when Mango was released, in that folk updated then couldn't get the official update because they didn't release the update from beta updates... meaning they had to wipe the device anyway.
everyone just needs some patience around 7.8, it will be out when MS and the networks say it is, supporting apps will be fixed to work with it when they too get fixed...

Bluetooth share is most likely hidden in the marketplace by nokia.
The app can now be installed, but you need a direct link to the marketplace to do it. It still does not show up in the search or nokia collection.

I've already tried it but it says not available for my phone (HTC HD7).
Market Select helped.

I was fiddling around trying to get Project Fi activated. I set up the account online they sent me the same card and of course it wouldn't activate. It would fail because you have to activate it through the app itself.
Then I remembered when I installed the Magisk module to enable Daydream I started getting Pixel OTAs. So I I thought maybe it's enough to trick Google into activating it and sure as hell It worked. Calls working, text working , data working. The app shows me activate and assigned me a new phone number.
Use at your own risk or not responsible for blah blah blah blah and I don't know if it matters but I'm actually on hydrogen beta 2.
Yes, I realize you don't need to actually download the Magsk module you could manually change the strings yourself. It's just a lot easier with the module.
And if this is a known work around well I didn't know.
This is great news. Thanks for sharing. Never have seen this work around referenced before.
Have you tried something like Signal Spy or entering carrier codes to register on Fi's other USA carrier (US Cellular)?
There's CDMA radios in the 6 but seems to be less hope for a Sprint connection.
I'm quite certain that international connectivity won't be a problem as roaming agreements are based off T-Mobile.

I tried this on OB2 and it doesn't work, which exact module did you use? There are 2 listed in the Magisk.
Does it work on anything other than the T-Mo bands? Also, which specific Magisk module are you referring to? There are two similar daydream apps in their repo.
Hello everyone! I can 100% confirm that this method does indeed work, the build of Daydream was built June 29, 2018 for anyone interested.
You can also activate the Fi card on another phone before popping it into the OnePlus 6. I used my Nexus 6 for that purpose.

This method works as well but it is a little long. Also once you set this up and as long as you don't factory reset your phone (ie wipe data partition) you can reboot your phone and copy over the modified build.prop with the original (Wich will be build.bak) The changes should stick. I assume it is the same with the OP method. Also there is a magisk module for enabling VOLTE. It also enables wifi calling.

Hey everyone
I just heard about Huawei been a bit more relaxed about rooting their Mate 30 Pro.
At First I was like that is AWESOME, the idea of been able to use the Mate 30 Pro with pixel experience (my favourite custom Rom) sounds amazing.... best Pixel stock experience on a beast like Mate 30 would be epic.
Then I found a strange taste in my mouth. There would still be some draw backs. Thought I would list some concerns and people could answer some of those concerns.
(Note....each concern/question has a solution or comment I think about the issue.....this is just my view and not to be taken as the only view)
1. Lack of full potential from cameras on the back?
I know some custom ROM camera apps are pretty good l, but to really experience the best from the camera's you would have to have some access to l the Mate 30 Pro stock camera app package to allow.
A thought I had is that Huawei could make a APK that's a bit like Goodlock and this app would allow you to download the stock camera app and other stock apps that people may use on their Huawei devices.
2. LTE and 5G??
I can remember using my Samsung S7E with Pixel Experience but one of the draw backs was that I could get 4G but I didn't get the extra features like LTE, wifi calling, HD call quality ect. If this remained the case then this would be a major draw back to a 2019 flagship device.
Maybe Huawei could needed coding and solutions directly to custom Rom developers....or allow then to be a open source so every ROM devloper had access these features.
3. General Custom ROM glitches and bugs
We are all used to our ROMs having strange behaviours every now and ad gain but do we want these bugs on our £800+ smartphone that we use eveqersryday.
This solution seems obvious Huawei need to work closely with custom Rom developers and helping them Iron these issues out.
4. Some apps dont work on custom Roms no matter what.
Back to my S7e I was able to almost all of the apps on my phone thanks to magisk manager but some apps still had issues. My samsung gear app would pair with my gearfit 2 no matter what. It downloaded but it would not find any devices. I found a fix but that caused my Google to stop working, so had to put it back. This happened with other apps as well.
The only solution I can think of is app developers would have to made aware that mate 30 users could be using rooted devices with Huawei's blessing and ensure there apps work on rooted versions of the phone.
5. Is Warranty still safe.
If Huawei are actually cool with us rooting our P30 Pro then they need to put their money where their mouth is and allow this activity with their manufactures warranty, private insurance companies need to follow suit as well.
Huawei could give us manufactures warranty but with the condition that if possible we have to flash the stock firmware of the device before sending it out.
That's it....that's just s few of my thoughts and possible solutions and would love to hear what you guys think and if you have any worries or questions of your own? Maybe if we make enough noise Huawei will notice us and take our ideas and answer our questions themselves.
(Make it easier....put which number comment your answering to so we all have a better idea what's going on)
Keep it friendly guys remember these are mine and others thoughts.... none of us are implying that these thoughts are right.
By the way... I am a Note 9 user but I am really excited of the potential of Huawei been the ultimate custom ROM brand.
Official Pixel Experience is pretty much nill on Huawei Devices. I see the Honor 10 has
again been dropped.
When the Ban is lifted Huawei will lock the bootloader again no doubt.
they have changed their mind, they will not unlock the BL for the Mate 30.
the only place this device will sell well is China, they are screwed pretty much everywhere else.
I just bought one in shanghai yesterday. Its a very neat and fast phone. especially the 40w charging is cool. you can watch percentages go up...
I asked for the 5G version but i was told its not availbale and should come November. I was wondering though if its already built in and just needs a software patch... like back then when Nvidia was reducing performace on Graphic cards by disabling shaders by firmware...

You could find out the specs from their website and check if the LTE bands covers T-Mobiles. It works on Bell's network though.

Most likely a review unit like others have had, release software dosnt have OEM unlock option in developers, if something comes of the int. Version we may be able to get rebranding but has yet to be seen
He commented about it being a devkit under the comment by Markus Haier here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5pxYxPSbl_s and said he was going to make a video on it but still nothing.
@o012 Well my P30-Pro (VOG-L09) has OEM unlocking under developer options but haven't tried unlocking.
All works in canada except certain banking apps google backup netflix google pay androis assistant needs to be rebooted everytime. Rest all works fine including google photo backup
Has anyone installed a custom ROM and TWRP to it yet.
Could a Gapps package help the issues? Gapps include all the google services and system setting to keep google stable and updating.
Think Gapps could be installed via the phones built in bootloader??.

I live in the US and have the T-Mobile OnePlus 8, Google pay works consistently well for me too.
No problem also for me in France IN2013

There is a serious proplem at Oneplus 8 phone with Google pay and other apps payment. The card is registered and ready to use. When you hold the phone to the terminal it takes a number of seconds for the blue tick to appear by which time the terminal doesn't process the payment.
Is this Hardware or Software issue? Its humiliating when someone go to pay and the phone payment (NFC and apps payment) cannot be made and you don't have any other payment method (physical card or cash money) Pls help..

Is your phone rooted?..from what I understand Google Pay won't work if there is root.
Use Google Pay daily, with my T-Mo OP8
Honestly, I've found pay to be hit or miss depending on the phone and the card scanner. It works on my op8 pretty reliably even with root. You have to use magisk hide if rooted.
I tried to use Google Pay last week, and it wouldn't do anything. I thought maybe I hadn't finished enabling my card for Google Pay since getting the OP8. I checked today and discovered NFC was turned off. [emoji2357]
