Honor 6X Snapchat - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

Hey guys im looking forward to buying the honor 6x, but ive heard some reviews that it has bad quality pics and video on snapchat. Is it true can someone who has this phone and uses snapchat confirm?
Also what other phones would you recommend looking at in the same price range.
Thanks

That maybe due to Snapchat not being fully supported for use on the Honor 6X. However if you wait, Snapchat may release a update for it.

Well you may be right, i had the galaxy s6 and the pics are much worse using snapchat than using the stock camera app.
Now i broke my s6 and the price to fix it is the same price of the honor 6x. Do you think i should buy the phone or fix my s6?

Depends on how badly your SGS6 is broken. If it's totalled then yeah I would get the Honor 6X. However you could get the Honor 8, which is a much more powerful device for a bit more.

Yea my s6 screen is all cracked and not turning on anymore the repair shop told me it costs 200$ to fix it and put a new display so i was debating if i would buy the honor 6x for 250$ instead.

In that case I would just get a Honor 8 or 6X and sell your broken SGS6 for parts. That way you could at least recoup some of your losses. Did the repair shop's quote state that they will replace the entire front panel?

Yea the entire front panel should be changed. I was thinking to sell it for parts but also i have all the data in the phone and couldnt delete it because of the broken screen

I guess you could take your device to a Samsung Service Center and ask them to wipe it for you. As they probably have the equipment to do it easily.

White patches on screen

I've had my phone for less than 2 months and some small white patches have appeared on the screen. It's as though the battery is pushing the back of the screen. They're only visible when there's a white background. Does anyone else have this or know a fix? I'm guessing it's a hardware problem so I'll have to go through Huawei's exchange procedure which I'm not looking forward to.
Attached is a picture of the problem, although it's not my phone.
I have this issue too, is not a really big deal but is very annoing in a high class phone...
Same here. A bit annoying and largely visible on a white background. I'm starting to think that this phone is not a high class phone other that the price. Too many faults starting to occur...

I got mine if a seller on buisness seller on eBay that does say 1yr seller warrenty. I've emailed them awaiting reply. In the mean time I rang huawei and they won't repair it they said its a Asia device not UK which I'm a bit confused as my device was sealed with a 3 pin uk plug so I presumed it will have UK warrenty. Well I think I'll cut my loses and sell it soon with or without repairing it and go for a device with better warranty support.

Yup i have the same problem with my phone as well. i started noticing them after 2 months of use. I will take my phone to the repair centre and see what the problem may be.
Could you please let us know what they think of it and mostly does the warranty apply here.
I'm going abroad for 2 weeks so I'll get in touch with them when I get back.
Ok. I might take this phone back to the shop where I bought it and let them worry about it. It's a pity because after flashing to lollipop it's so good...

Keep us updated :good:
Got a reply (emailed them yesterday with picture of the white spots) from local Huawei service about the white marks and it seems that they will fix the screen within the warranty. I'll take the phone there tomorrow...but as usual it will take week or so to come back... so fingers crossed
Hi,
I face the same problem on my Mate 7 on end of december (i have it in the begenning of november) send it to repair (4 weeks) it change the phone completly (it also stuck at bootloader).
Two month after this the same problem happen again, I send it again (4 weeks) this time he have change the screen only.
I think the size of the screen (and surely the building quality of this phone) make it really sensitive to light pressure (in a pocket etc...).
I cross fingers to don't have this problem again.
Sold mine couldn't cope with it no more, I couldn't get warranty on it here in the UK as apparently mine was for Asia.

Surprisingly, although a new phone, same LTE problem, doesn't occur as often as in the old one but still there. Installed lollipop beta and the problem's gone.

What is the difference btw M7 and P8 ?
Not a great deal, bit quicker, much better camera, better build , very slim, nicer screen, 3gb ram standard, I love my p8 its size is nice but if they could just sqeeze in a 5.5" not 5.2 it would be 10/10 from me but instead its a 8/10 as battery isn't too great

Best way to get Chinese vesion of Mate 9 repaired when in US.

Hi. Like many, I bought a Chinese version of Mate 9 (MHA-AL00) because it has superior specs. Unfortunately, the phone was dropped and I now have a small crack in screen and scratch on bottom side near speakers. What is the best way to get this repaired? Is there any place in the US that will service this phone? I contacted Huawei in US and they won't touch it. I asked if they could order the parts and have it fixed. I will pay for it and they said the phone is too different for them to repair. The reasoning escapes me here... Any help here would be appreciated! Thanks!

Do you want your phone fixed, or have genuine parts? I've not seen genuine Huawei parts outside an authorized Huawei repair shop. My replacement screen works though and looks mostly like the original did. Outer frame can be found there as well probably, but I haven't looked yet.

Well, both actually! I want the phone fixed using genuine parts. Currently a Chinese friend is kindly contacting Huawei in China to see if I can mail it to an authorized repair shop there. Unfortunately Huawei US won't touch my phone. I don't understand why Huawei US can't just order the parts from China and fix it for me in US. I can't believe the variants are that different structurally and I'm willing to pay the cost.

Different region have different policy for their phone if there no different why they need to be sell on different model and version as International or Chinese / Asia / Europe. When you buy the chinese version you should know it will not cover any warranty beside Huawei china. Yea because you save few dollars for buying the chinese version and you want to enjoy the full international version benefit? You get what you pay is that hard to understand?

Hi. I think the misunderstanding is on your part. I bought the Chinese version because it has better specs than the one one sold in US. More ram and more memory. Better meets my needs. Not because it is cheaper. Btw, it was more expensive. Second, I fully understand that warranty does not cover Chinese version outside of China. I have been in contact with merchant that sold phone and they can send it to have it repaired by manufacturer. Just want to avoid having to send phone back to China. Would prefer to have official parts mailed to me and have repaired here in US. But to be clear, I am not asking for repair that is covered by warranty. I am asking about a repair that I will fully pay for. Is that hard to understand?

Hi. Your question is the point of this thread! Hopefully we will have an answer we are happy with. I'm still checking on possibilities. I originally bought my phone from Geekbuying. They have offered to send it back to manufacturer for repairs. So you might consider contacting the merchant you bought it from. I am still waiting to hear from my Chinese friend. Once I know more I'll post what I learned.

Honor V10, Bluetooth and OIS

Got an Honor View 10 from John Lewis yesterday and was lucky I pulled the trigger yesterday because the price went up from £339 to £449 overnight. I haven't opened it but just wondering whether not having OIS is going to be a permanent thing and also is Bluetooth going to be updated to 5.0 if it isn't a hardware issue?
anyway Honor have answered me, Bluetooth is permanently on 4.2 as its a hardware issue. The OIS stuff they have forwarded to their R&D department.
same here, got it for 339£, have it unopened while I contemplate what to do next. johnlewis has an amazing 35 days return policy.
no eis update is a sure return for me
Who cares about eis... I make awesome videos just the same.
And they come out just fine.
I'm loving mine
Even put my s8+ in the desk drawer
It's like talking to parakeets
Squak Squak.. No eis Squak whaaa
Sooner or later it will be fixed
Go on spend 1000 sterling pounds dollars.
I'm laughing and making awesome videos

nolia what about yours one?
Ois so far has posed no problems for me, just have to remember that decent lighting is required for quick response of the camera, other then that the dual shooter is fantastic imo.
Can I ask the difference between Bluetooth 4.2 and 5.

bluetooth 5 allows you to connect 2 devices simultaneously e.g you can connect 2 bluetooth speakers and stream music to both of them. In 4.2 its one or the other, it will show there is 2 bluetooth headphones/speakers but you have to chose 1.

Please let me know if you decide to open yours, will do the same. I wish it comes with the EU plug it would work better for my ends.
p.s.
congrats on the deal, I was keeping an eye on amazon at £369.99 until it run out of stock.
Following day CPW had it on the website at £339.99 for 2 days, I was literally ordering it when the price went up to £449.99 I think it was.
Johnlewis luckily had it in stock at £339.99 and I pulled the trigger. I knew JL was going to amend the price and bam it did the following day, following CPW 's foodsteps eheheh.

Oneplus 7 8/256GB worth it for 609€ on Amazon?

As the title say I'm probably buying the non pro version due to the huge price difference (140€), what do you guys think? Ah I'm coming from a OnePlus 6, yesterday unfortunately I've discovered that the type c is kind loose and now the cable slips away if I slightly move the device...

Probably an inexpensive fix. Won't you need to get it fixed if you plan on selling the phone at some stage?
I'd get it repaired and wait for the 7t.
Might find the 7pro gets heavily discounted soon too.
I've got the 7pro and it is fantastic! The 90hz screen is unlike anything I've ever used on a smartphone. Not sure the 7/7t will have a 90hz display.

NO!
Oneplus 7 is worth buying in China, because you spend 200€ less money (about 400€ for a new 8/256GB) and you keep Oneplus official warranty for 1 year.
Ok you lose just 1 year, but the price is the same as a Mi 9T Pro
Or if you are lucky enough (just as me), you could find in Amazon Warehouse Deals, an OP7 used in perfect condition, paying the same as a new one in China market, but with a perfect phone and Amazon warranty (and you can give it back if it is not good enough for you).
I found a French OP7: same as the others OP, but in France it is mandatory to include earphones into the package (usb-c earphones worth 20€ in Oneplus shopping page)
I ordered the OP7 with 256Gb/8GB Ram for 390€ at Gearbest during flashsale. Pretty good deal in my opinion ? I hope the delivery doesn't take too long...

I ordered my OnePlus 7 8/256 from Aliexpress for $440 so no, Amazon's current price of 600 euros is not a good deal.
For that kind of money you would get the 7 Pro on Aliexpress.
No, this device not worth such money!
I have it for 3 month already and no single custom rom, I would wait little bit for release of 7t pro and buy the 7 pro version.
Have you tried maybe the usb plugs from ali like quick connect..

I personally advise to purchase the OP7. It's my best best phone so far (dual speakers, same ufs3, same main camera...).
But... I've paid 381€ for the 8/256 chinese version in a much nicer red colour. There's no important difference between global and chinese versions (charger plug, instructions language...). You've even got 1 year official warranty!
Joan Tur (OP7)
Do you guys recommend buying the OnePlus 7 now? I can get a pre-owned 6GB with 10 months warranty with insurance remaining. Around 75% of that price I can get a 6T with a few months warranty remaining. Also I can't afford a 7T. Which phone do you guys recommend?
Tbh I wouldnt get either phone
Theres a lot more phones coming out this year with better specs

New Pixel C battery and keyboards

Assuming it's ok to share items for sale here???
I purchased this battery from eBay a few mos ago: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-High-Q...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
And then broke my Pixel-C screen before I could install it
The seller is in China and has reduced his price to $28. I paid $35 for mine.
I'll sell if for $25 including shipping to any location in the US. Pls let me know if you're interested.
I also have a near-new Pixel C metal keyboard that is in perfect condition and a leather folio keyboard in excellent condition.
Will sell each for $25 (including shipping)
If you want both keyboards and the battery, I'll sell for $60 including shipping.
Can send photos to any prospective buyers who want them.
I installed one of these batteries, they're legit. Hard to install but doable!

Like I said in your thread, the hardest and sketchiest part is getting the screen off, that job is already half done for you. The actual connectors inside the device are pretty easy to deal with if you've ever repaired a tablet/phone.

Yeah i messed up the screen not worth trying to fix anymore I also screwed up the volume switch trying to clean it out after glue got in it from the last time i tried to glue the screen back on.
So at this point I'm trying to figure out the best upgrade tablet to buy that has good rom or LineageOS support going forward any suggestion's ?
Or I could just buy another Pixel C selling super cheap on ebay but thats no fun

I know Samsung is having some decent deals on their tablets. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is available for a decent price if you are able to trade in a newish phone, or tablet, but even without the trade-in its still at somewhat reasonable price for performance.
I did not want an iPad or a Samsung tablet so I went for a Pixel C, I dont regret the decision but I do wish there was something else Android. I dont like the idea of either an expensive Samsung that probably will be difficult or impossible to install another rom on, or some complete trash no name from Amazon.

After researching around theres not to many options or companies making tablets seems the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and the Galaxy Tab S5e are the only 2 with rom or LineageOS support that I can find. The S5e seems to be a bit more powerful offering a 6mb ram version and has official LineageOS support the Tab S6 Lite is the cheaper budget tablet but offers the pen and offering only Unofficial LineageOS.
I'd love to be able to upgrade and get the new Galaxy Tab S7 or S7+ the top of the line tablets out now but no rom support out at all from what I see ?
The Pixel C is a bit old release date was 2015 I could just buy another one super cheap on ebay but think maybe its time to get something newer at this point?
Any one have any other suggestions ?
