I installed ifont and installed the font I use.
The font is listed in my themes section. I applied.

Actually the stock font is really close to the font I use. That's why I thought it was installed.

That's why I'm telling you, I'm root and you do not change them either ...
I just want to bold the font. There has to be a solution out there.

my mate 9 is rooted and i was able to install and use the fonts in the above link; so it's likely true you need a rooted device to change fonts.

No need for root.
Installed this crazy looking one.
Just testing because my favorite font is similar to the default one and had placebo effect.
Hi , dont know why we cant install font on Emui5, normally its the same thing that Emui4 , no ?
You can change fonts on the Huawei Mate 9 without root. I will post a tutorial how on the Portal.

Ok,i test this Weather on my Wifes LG G2 F320S and it working.
Make a Backup and flash this zip file,i think this works for you

Thanks for reply, one more question i have now.. After successful flashing there will be option to select normal mode and transparent mode of these widgets or it will be entirely change the original one without any selection options?

I've tride the Samsung fonts apk and downloads from play store.
They both come install fine but then come up as not compatible when I try to apply them in the fonts selection setting. Pretty bummed about the fonts issue right now.

No. The best you can do is selecting one of the preset for columns/rows.

Last option is third party launcher..
Do anybody got ad blocker and Xpose installer to work? And if where are the files?
It won't work without write access to system. There isn't proper root available for this phone yet

I do have the mate 9 in moonlight silver US version. I just recently unrooted with SuperSu and flashed stock recovery due to not having proper root so we can write to system. I also have a one+ 3t because I do enjoy flashing Roms and kernels, so I have to mate 9 put away until we can do such.

I'm with you bro. Almost shelved my Note 4 which is like the device that will never die with great devs, but the Mate 9, even with partial root to at least use Titanium gets me by with Nova and a few other added apps. (It One 3T is a non-sloucher I can see being a prime device to work and play). I have to admit it is the first phone I have used as a daily without real root since Android 3.x.

It is a great device but I've been rooting and modding since the first T-Mobile G1. I tried to go at it just as is but the itch just got me back. Lol. I'm keeping a close eye on the mate 9 forums like everyday checking to see about progress. If we could get AOSP on this beast I'd be too happy.

Way cool. And the superuser.zip is the item mentioned in the OP, or did you find a way to substitute? I think our biggest hang up was the encrypted partition along with the access controls are the file level (but I'm a big novice on the dev type work.)

Has anybody using a custom font on their phone seen that apps like Zooper widget or games like Real Racing aren't working properly. Zooper widget and real racing are unable to display many logos and signs properly and r instead displaying letters. Can anybody help me solve this problem?

I had the same issue on skype and some other apps after using custom fonts

I reverted back to stock font
I can confirm this as well. Currently using custom font and photo editing apps with adding text feature won't display actual font when selecting them. Any font I choose will only show the current font.

Turns out I mistakenly reverted to stock font. So yes, custom font will still create issue with other apps unfortunately.

I faced that . My telegram app dint show bold text untill i did a factory reset.

Yea ikr. I still use a custom font though since the stock font on EMUI 5 is too big. And I don't like changing my DPI as I like it as is.
