Better volume - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

I have a rooted Pixel and was wondering if there is a mod to turn up the volume on all alerts, ringtones and while watch movies. The alerts are really low and I cant hear them sometimes.

you could try tasker (or any other automation app) to automate the process.
set it so that when you open the app for movies, it will automatically set your alerts to the desired volume

[App] Sync app launch

Hello,
I'm searching for an app that could launch another app when you launch an app
I would call that "sync app launch"
Inside this app: you can choose to launch app2 (and app3 if you want) when app1 is launched by user
If app close can be syncing too it would be great
Typical example:
When I launch a GPS app, I would like the radar detector app to be launched at the same time, and closed when I close GPS app
Does someone know something like this?
Thanks!

I agree with tasker. not easy to learn but has endless possibilities some aren't even seen in more intuitive gui based apps. tasker is by far the most useful app out there, you definitely get way more than you originally expect
+1 for tasker
wooo impressive app thanks!

Gear S2 with Wink Smarthome

Hello All,
I'm considering buying the Gear S2. I love almost everything about it. However, I just got a Wink hub for my home(to turn on lights and fans and such on a schedule/by a trigger/from my smartphone). In the app, there's the option to create a shortcut for an Android Wear device. Does anybody know if there's a way for the Wink hub shortcuts to work with tizen? I know that Pebble has an app to make it work, but I can't find a way into the Gear S2 appstore to look for a similar app on Tizen. Thanks!
TaskS2
Really roundabout way but the watch has tasker integration with the app TaskS2. A quick google search says its possible to control wink via tasker. Other option is use the tasker autoremote plugin to control wink via ifttt. I've got no problems controlling my nest with the tasker app

Looks like that's the best option. Having looked at the way the Wink shortcuts work on Android wear, I feel like the Tasker approach will actually be better than the wink shortcuts themselves... Thanks for the help! Just ordered my Gear S2 with the $100 off deal on Adorama.

I needed to control my Hub as well and found a very simple app called Wearable Widget. Simply download the Play store app for your device and then the companion app from the Samsung store. It allows you to control any widget from your watch including The Wink Hub.

Awesome! I was actually having some reliability issues with Tasker. The task would execute fine when I activated it with my phone, but when I activated it with my watch it'd get stuck halfway through. This app looks great. Thanks for the response!

Can I set watch volume(s) (ringer, notifications, etc.) based on schedule or GPS?

I set my phone volumes based on GPS w/tasker. At work reduced volume, outside of work, back to normal. I do this based on GPS location, could also do it based on day of week/time if I wanted tol.
Is there a way to do this on the watch as well? E.g., set Notifications, ringer, etc., to medium when at work (based on GPS or day of week/time) and to loud in other times/locations?
A lot of views and no responses...starting to look like this isn't possible...
Try to search for IFTTT app. IFTTT (If This Than That) is a type of apps which can serve you purpose (action upon condition). I don't know is this type of apps exists for Tizen OS.

Thanks for your reply. There is an existing IFTTT Gear app option (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dj0fr_Uk-M8), but it's about controlling the phone or other devices, but not the watch itself, and there are no IFTTT channels/services for Tizen/Samsung smartwatches. There is an Android Wear IFTTT Service, but that only exposes some relatively basic messaging and notification options.
More on the IFTTT in case anyone's interested:
"Your Gear S2 is about to become a lot more useful. By using TaskS2 with Tasker and Ifttt, you can do all of these things on your watch in just one tap:
+ Control your phone remotely.
+ Trigger actions related to Internet services like Facebook, Twitter, Evernote, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive ...etc.
+ Control your smart-home devices like Philips Hue, Nest, Lutron, LIFX, Honeywell, Comfy, Wemo ...
Full list here (250+ services): https://ifttt.com/channels"
A native Tizen app is going to be released shortly by a user/developer in the Samsung SmartThings forum, so I'm going to use that for SmartHome control (currently using a combination of Tasker and SharpTools).

Using Tasker with Watchmaker

Ok, this seems like a stupid question but I see from the watchmaker description, it has support for Tasker. I have also seen some people taking about using Tasker integration with watchmaker. I am new to watch maker and playing around with some faces I downloaded. Just curious, how do you do this? Do I need to download a plug in? Also, are there any tutorials that have been written either on XDA or elsewhere? I seem to be having a problem finding it while searching.
It's probably staring at me in the face so sorry I advance if it is.
Obviously, need Tasker on your phone and actions set up.
Load WatchMaker on your phone and companion app on watch.
Get a watch face (facerepo is a good place). Download and then import into WatchMaker on your phone using the arrow button on the my faces section.
Scroll down and look for the option to duplicate the watch face. (If you want to save a clean copy of the original.)
Then open the duplicate and scroll down and choose 'customize.' Select an existing object on the watch face, or add one. Then scroll down to the Tap action option, select that, select the Tasker option from the list of options, and that will allow you to choose a tasker action to execute when you tap that object on the face on your phone.
Back up using the back arrow in the upper left corner of the app (save is automatic). Then make sure that the WatchMaker is set as your watch face on the watch. Then use the load option in WatchMaker on your phone to transfer the watchface to the watch.
Tap the object in the watch face and tasker action is executed.

I know there is no tasker for the S3. The watchmaker app has integration of the tasker app. It supposedly allows you to trigger tasker tasks from the watch face.

It does, as I noted above.
There is also a Tasker app for the S3 called TaskS2, that works very well.
And another option is via the Trigger app.

True, but TaskS2 only lets you run profiles stored on the phone. No control over the watch itself.

Correct. But that is much better than no tasker support at all.

Any way to block games from opening the Play Store?

I play certain games using BlueStacks because they won't run on my rooted device, no matter how well-hidden Magisk is.
Epic Seven is one of said games.
Problem is, because I can't use root AND play that game, I can't use a lot of mods. And while there's no-root ad-blocking methods, I don't want to block every ad, either. There's one of those "watch an ad, get an in-game reward" thing they do every day, five times per day. It gives 20 energy per ad, but a couple weeks ago, suddenly said ads started opening the Play Store when the ad finishes, which kicks the game to the background and interrupts things. It's VERY annoying and obtrusive, something that I'm actually dismayed to see.
Danmachi Memoria Freese does this garbage, too.
So is there anything I can do about this? I just want to keep said ads from opening the &#%$ing Play Store, not block the ads themselves.
You can set up parental controls
On the device you want parental controls on, open the Play Store app .
In the top left corner, tap Menu Settings. Parental controls.
Turn on Parental controls.
Create a PIN.
Tap the type of content you want to filter.
Choose how to filter or restrict access.
I hope you got your answer!!

Which do you recommend? Will it prevent updates? Will it keep the damn games from launching it after every ad?

I don't think you understood my question.
Karma Firewall is an adfree VNP firewall that uses very little battery. On Pie and below has logging as well. It's a great app with zero issues.
It's easy enough to toggle it or a specific app on/off as needed.
The game still attempts to open the Play Store, and I still have to click a bunch of times to dismiss it. So it seems a firewall isn't the best solution.
Depending on what version of Android you are on you can clear the defaults of the Google Play Store so that it won't open up the Play Store when you click on a Google Play Store from anywhere in Android.
The steps to do this vary by which version (skin and Android version) your phone/tablet is running. Generally you have to:
Open Settings
Applications
Application Manager
Find the Google Play Store and remove defaults for opening web links
This approach will however still bring up the Google Play Store on your web browser.
Isn't there any other way?
It's getting to the point where I don't even want to play these anymore. Or at least not watch the ads and forgo the rewards, because they are that annoying.

No one? This is ridiculous. They're now not only opening the Play Store, but switching out of the game, TO the Play Store entirely, instead of opening it in the background AND showing a "pop-up" of said store page in-game, too. These are obstructive and intrusive as hell, and I'm going to raise hell about this since apparently Google's allowing this garbage.

Ah, sorry, I though the "/s" indicated sarcasm clearly.
I am aware of what they are, I was just joking about how rare "true" offline games are these days.
