Bricked HTC Desire 820 - Shows in device manager - No USB Debugging - General Questions and Answers

All I know:
- On normal boot its stuck in HTC logo
- When in fastboot and trying to go into recovery it restarts my fastboot menu
- Adb, fastboot and ruu don't detect it
- Shows in device manager as Android USB Device
- Software status: Modified and Relocked
What I tried:
- Connecting to the pc and trying to do anything with adb
- Placing recovery image and rom files on sdcard and switching between HBOOT and Fastboot as its scanns for zip files but after it loads the file and checks it, device gets rebooted and once again stuck on logo
Need help, I'm looking for solution for last 2 days

[Q] Help Revive my Xoom

Hey All,
My Dad's Xoom died over the weekend - 13months after purchase so is not covered by the warranty. He was browsing a site, it came up with a "Internet is not responding - do you want to continue to wait" message and he clicked Wait - after a second the tablet knocked off. It will not come on by pressing Power and only turns on by pressing Power and Vol +
It gets past the Motorolo logo screen and the device starts the boot animation, about 20 seconds into this it freezes and reboots - this continues in a loop. It's been GEDified and was running the last OTA update 4.1.2 - no root etc.
I can get into the stock recovery and performed a factory reset - but the same thing happens. I've also tried Update From USB with an OTG cable but the screen just shows Choose a package to install and under it has /sdcard but nothing else. I have a dummy zip on both the Flash disk and SD card so it's not reading either.
I've also tried to perform update via ADB - when I select it and connect to a PC (Win 7 32bit) it tries to install drivers but I see In Computer Management that it shows under Unknown. ADB Devices returns List of devices message but nothing under it.
I've also selected the fastboot command at boot, tried fastboot devices and the command does see the Xoom.
So my questions
1) Anyone seen anything like this issue before and know how to fix it?
2) Is it best to try to reinstall the ROM? If so, how do you suggest I can see it with ADB?
3) As I have Fastboot command, could I try to install CWM and see if that sees a ZIP on the sdcard - so I can install a new ROM.
Any help much appreciated :good:
so...I've just done a fastboot oem unlock
and then tried to flash the CWM recovery using the fastboot commands - no errors, press reboot and go into Recovery but still getting Android system recovery 3e :crying:

So just to add to this, I found the stock recovery.img, boot.img, userdata.img and system.img and used the fastboot commands to send all to the motorola - all succeeded without error....still the same problem though.
I installed RSD lite and tried a few SBF files but I'm getting an INI error - off to google possible solutions to that now

[Q] Soft Brick. Unable to load via USB (unable to open umslunfile)

I'm unable to connect via USB to my AT&T HTC One S.
It loops through CWM Bootloader.
I can get the HBOOT to come up but I can't factory reset. It does nothing.
How am I supposed to reset CWM or copy any files to flash the device?
Even the RUU flash doesn't work because it can't connect via USB.
When I try to mount the USB it gives me the unable to open ums lunfile error.
also I can't seem to mount the SD card either. This is awesome.
I've read around and tried other solutions but all of them seem to fail at the point where I need to be able to connect the device via USB.
What can I do?
Hah, knew u were using cwm. Never use cwm for this phone, flash twrp and you should be ok flash twrp 2.3.3.1 http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/evita/openrecovery-twrp-2.3.3.1-evita.img
You also mean att htc one x?
This is a problem as I don't know how I'm supposed to flash to twrp?
I use the All in One kit but if it's in CWM it doesn't do anything asnd if it's in the white screen Hboot (bootloader?) it doesn't see the device and nothing happens.
1 - reboot into fastboot mode (when it is powering on, you'll need to hold volume down until the bootloader screen pops up)
2 - connect it to your pc (you'll need the latest drivers and if you have windows 8 - there is some chicanery involved, search xda for help)
3 - if it says "fastboot usb" on the device you are ready to rumble
4 - in the adb/fastboot folder run the following command (replace twrp.img with whatever the name of the recovery is) -> fastboot flash recovery
twrp.img
5 - you should be able to boot into recovery now (navigate with the volume up/down and select with the power button
Is it a one s or a one x because you typed one s

[Q] Alcatel One Touch 983 Fastboot

Trying to connect via Fastboot, device manager recognizes the phone as Mass Storage device so i can't enter into fasboot mode to flash it. I have a wrong Recovery that boots but doesn't make me select any option. Windows 8 also recognizes it as Vodafone Smart II.
I need to know:
- How can i Unbrick this device?
Notes:
- Have Adb drivers, fastboot drives, broadcom drivers, Qualcom drivers
- Have ROM Files
- No acces to operative system (I said its bricked)
- Installed a wrong cwm recovery, its boots into but no Ok button working.

Entering TWRP instead of Recovery Mode (Doogee S60)

Hi There!
I'm exeriencing a wierd problem:
On my rooted Doogee S60, i was able to enter the built in recovery mode (and from there the fastboot mode) with Vol+ and Power.
Since i've installed a twrp recovery.img, pressing Vol+ and Power will launch the TWRP UI (wich i cant use, because my touchscreen is disabled).
Normal boot won't work eighter - i flashed a corrupted system.img file as it looks like (ooops). There is also the message at the Boot Screen saying:
"Orange State - Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted. Your device will boot in 5 seconds"
... although these 5 seconds won't countdown and the device won't boot.
If i enter the TWRP, i can still access the ADB mode. So i can sideload stuff on the device, even the sd card is shown on pc. But the command
adb reboot fastloader
will reboot the phone, but not load the fastloader/fastboot - as it stucks at boot screen (orange state).
Any other ideas to access fastboot, due to flash the recovery.img again with the original to fix?
... or simple question: did i brick it?
thx in advance
Command
Code:
adb reboot fastloader
doesn't exist.

Hi introjoe,
Are you doing? i have the doogee s60 but i just cant root it :'( can you tell me please how did you do it, or the files you use for it? i allready tried but, when i reset and enter fastboot mode, my pc simply dont recognize it.
I want to upgrade the android system to 9 or 10, thats why im doing all o this.
Thanks in advance.
@doryan666
i wasnt able to root the device in the end unfortunately.
i tried using an unofficial twrp, but i was stuck at the main boot screen
i t seems to need some bootloader-activation-code to enter the bootloader to install a new os.
the command line would look like
adb reboot bootloader "CODE"
the activation code has not been released yet by doogee ... and most probably never will be.
sorry to say but i dont think android upgrad will be possible with this device

Oneplus 6 in Fastboot Loop

Hi,
i'm facing the problem that my phone only starts in "FastBoot Mode" at least i guess that's the mode.
OnePlus 6 with root.
It happened after i rebooted after installing an OTA Update and installing a Magisk Manager Update.
I used the method described here. The last few times it worked perfectly.
But now the only thing that happens when i try to boot the phone is a screen that says
FastBoot Mode
PRODUCT_NAME - sdm845
VARIANT - SDM UFS
BOOTLOADER VERSION -
BASEBAND VERSION -
SERIAL NUMBER - d8a34971
SECURE BOOT - yes
DEVICE STATE - unlocked
with the volume button i can select "START, Restart bootloader, Recovery Mode and Power off"
but nothing happens when i select e.g. Recovery Mode, or simply START.
The phone shows the boot logo for a second, then I'm back at the screen with "FastBoot Mode"
I installed the USB-drivers for the device and can find it with my PC when i type "fastboot devices" in the command prompt.
But that's pretty much all. I don't know how to continue.
I would be very glad if i could keep my data, is there a way to save my phone and if not how do i install the normal OS again?
I really hope someone can help me here.
Edit:
When I type "adb devices" it says "List of devices attached" but there is no entry.
USB-Debugging is on, since the Root-process i didn't touch the developer options
So should be the USB mode for file transfer (MTP)
I'm not sure if i checked the "always allow from this computer" setting
So following this guide the only thing i can't do is checking the prompt for USB-debugging since i can't boot the OS.
Is there anoter way to get a adb connection?
[ROM][STOCK][FASTBOOT][OP6] Stock Fastboot ROMs for OnePlus 6
Things are changing with the advent of project treble and seamless updates. OnePlus will no longer release ROMs flashable via stock recovery (with twrp is possible but not recommended). The updates will be done on the slot not used for example...
forum.xda-developers.com
For everyone that can't connect to the device via ADB but fastboot, this does the trick.
Thank you guys!
