Changing from lte to 3g to 2g - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi
My office has bad signal and as a result my signal drops out quite often. When I put it on 2g the signal is a lot more stable. The issue is that I have to manually change it which is annoying. Is it possible to adjust the threshold that the phone drops to 2g when there is one bar instead of there is no signal at all?

I have an app called widgetsoid and I use the data widget to change to 2g manually when I have wifi as calls are much clearer on 2g.
I change it to 4g only when I need data.

3G control

I live in an area where my 3G signal strength is often 1 bar or below and is weak but my non 3G signal strength is 4 bars and strong.
Is there an app that I can use to set up when 3G cuts out and reverts to normal GSM signal.. I know I can set 3G to auto switch but it only cuts in when it feels like and often this means my phone is limbo with no 3G signal and no auto option to switch over to GSM and will often just drop my signal mid call at home.. or am I asking too much.. cheers..
When your 3G signal becomes weak it should automatically switch to GSM. If switching between the two is causing your phone to drop calls you can lock your phone to GSM only by changing it via the Comm Manager, tap on "change phone settings" and then "Band" on the bottom.
ok. cheers..

[Q] Force 3G only in field test

Hi..i owned a Lumia, but a bit frustrated when network keep switching between 3G and 2G.
i just want to stay only in 3G network..
have anyone test the field test by dialling "##3282"?
in there we can change 3G only.
But i didnt know it worked or not..
so far it doesnt change to 2G..
I too used the same test by dialing ##3282. In addition you have to toggle the ENS to OFF position (don't reboot).
When you choose 3G only. It exactly what it means, 3G only, not 4G (LTE) and NOT 2G either. So it will only connect to 3G and hence you are not getting 2G signal.
I wish there was a speed limit setting so we could avoid LTE rather than pure 3G only. Or choose 3G+2G together.

[Q] Is there a way to set the threshold for toggling between umts and gprs?

Hi!
This one is for simmodded users.
I ask for a way to set the threshold for toggling between uts and prs connections.
Often I experience the following: having uts with fair signal strength (3-4 bars) then, without leaving the same spot outside the q drops the 3g connection and starts a gprs connection (signal strength full).
If I force the uts connection I mostly get the weaker 3g connection reastablished. Problem with this settings: in areas where I won't have no 3g connection I have to manually switch back to auto setting.
So is there a way to modify the time of automatic connection switch, so I may have longer weak 3g connection before I drop to gprs?

I don't know such an app, only the manual way.
Theoretically you could use SmartActions to start an app change to 3G on good locations and change to 2G on bad locations.
However, I don't know such an app for this.
Maybe someone know a better solution.

2g / GSM CALLS Preferred 3g+ DATA

Do anyone know of an app to change the priority of which network to use.
I want VOICE - default to most reliable [2g] and only use something else if 2g unavailable [networks in UK are notoriously bad at cell tower hand off on 3g connections resulting is dropping calls while driving on motorways]
I want DATA - default to highest speed, fall back to lower speeds as normal.
My options are 3g only, 2g only, 3g preferred - not ideal

Someone know any wifi and GSM manager??

Dear friends, some time when I have low 4g signal, I can not receiver calls.
I need some app for setting auto switch from 4G to GSM band, when the 4G is low.
Same problem, I have with wifi. I need some app for setting auto switch from wifi to Data mobile connection, when wifi signal is low.
Someone know any app that I can try for resolve this problems??
Thanks
The firmware has this feature itself.
i.e. it can switch to another network automatically if the current network signal becomes weak.
You should select the network mode as Auto Network Mode for it to function.

Yes, but when the signal is low, the phone don't switch network, because phone see the signal there is, low signal, but there is! But really, when signal is so low, I don't receive calls, my phone number is not available!
I need an app, for setting the minimal signal level, that the phone must change network
