Yea it seems gmail never fails to give me my email notifications right on time, right when I receive mail I get a notification no more then 2 minutes later. But yahoo seems to never update and I get my email like 30 min to a hour later. So this must be droid telling me if I don't have gmail I won't get my notifications on time. Very bias of the android OS. And it sends nobody has a sure

Both GMail and Exchange mail support the feature called Push Email -- it pushes into your phone's inbox as soon as the mail server receives the email.
How do you setup your Yahoo email? I guess you used the POP3 email access which is pretty dumb and doesn't support push email (your phone has to check the mail server every so often to see if there is mail there.
There should be a Yahoo mail app created by Yahoo that also supports push email. You have to use that app in order to get the push email from Yahoo.
Hotmail now also supports push email via Exchange email support. So, no new email app needed.
I have one of my yahoo accounts set up on the yahoo app, but it only allows for one account as far as I know

Then, call Yahoo and ask them to support multiple accounts. Yahoo, Gmail and hotmail all use properitary protocols for their email in addition to support the old POP3 protocol. Gmail and Hotmail have the added advantage of supporting Exchange ActiveSync. So, in order to take advantage of advanced feature like push email, you will need the native client from the respective email provider or use Exchange ActiveSync if there is support for it. It is not any kind of bais in Andriod OS. It is the fault of Yahoo falling way behind the technology curve. POP3 protocol is created like 20 to 30 years ago. Back then, emails often take days to reach the destination.
BTW, the phone's built-in email client only supports 2 Exchange accounts max. I know Gmail client supports multiple gmail accounts as well but not sure how many accounts it can support.
Yahoo does have an app, whether it's any good is a different story. I have tried both, the email app and the messenger app and they are very laggy, almost rendering the phone useless. Then again ymmv

As per my knowledge There is only mail client which support pushmail for all of three you mention. B'coz you may find many for gmail, but yahoo is concern there is only two real push mail client is available. One is yahoo mail(from yahoo itself). But this is for yahoo only. If you want single client for all of three, just find 'seven Beta '
latest version of seven (7.54) having widget support too.

- you can pause / schedule for push mail
- Auto pause with certain condition e.g power < 15% / roaming

I'm looking for an email app that can handle multiple email accounts and push notifications. I want to have access to my yahoo mail, gmail, personal website mail, and work exchange mail.
SEVEN worked great, but isn't perfect. They have since pulled their app from the beta for android and don't seem to be supporting it anymore (at least not to the beta community anymore).
K9 - I read the yahoo push notifications work for some but not others. I'm trying it now but so far 1 test yahoo email didn't get pushed. I haven't had time to play with this anymore yet and only tried that 1 test.
Maildroid killed my batter in no time, so trying to avoid that - unless they've fixed that issue.
It also needs to support Android 2.3 since I'm using the Evo 3d.
One feature i'd like, but don't have to have is the ability to turn on/off the exchange email at will or set quiet hours specifically to that account and not all mail.

Atleast for yahoo push mail thr is only two option, one is seven and other is yahoo mail. but yahoo mail is only for yahoo services. As per my knowledge rest using schedule pull rather thn real push mail. B'coz yahoo not having Idle IMAP facility.
thanks for clearing that up. Yes i do have the latest from Seven. i'll just stick with that. The only problem I have with it is not being able to stop work mail receiving separate from the others. I can use something else for that mail though.
Well I don't have push support for IMAP accounts but I do have push support for Exchange accounts. POP3 does not support push in any way, shape, or fashion in case you didn't know. newton is really the best email app aver, it's very simple, great design, lightweight, and free. You can subscribe to a premium features, but even without them the app is just amazing. It's used to be called cloudmagic.

Read it. My favorite (Alto) is not secure!
K9 mail is not good enough. Aqua mail is limited to 2 accounts in free version. Mail Droid contains ads. What's left is [email protected] mail which is new to my ear. Tried it and [email protected] mail seems fantastic. A lot of features and customization. And secure too.
I'll use it side by side with Alto for next few days before I decide which one is better.

It's a good mail app but now it forces pay premium to use, unless it is not load new emails! 50$ for 1 year, too expensive to use with premium feature. I must uninstall it after 2 year using. It's a stupid Newton Mail development team.

I always prefer Gmail and recommend to others. It is free and very easy to use. One of the best things is to login to multiple accounts on a single browser at a time.

Apart from that, you can also use NoxApp+, which can not only run multiple accounts for emails but also for many other apps like whatsapp. facebook, or even games, without even switching or quitting!!

In some europ. countries using g-mail is not permitted without written permission of your partners: E-mail addresses and the mails itself are sensitive personal data and must not be stored on servers outside the EU without permissions of all who it may concern...

I'm currently using Spike (formerly Hopmail) for my Gmail(s) and Swing Mail for my Outlook. Both have very good conversation UI and reliable push notifications. Swing Mail has another plus : it can handle Twitter DM with push notifications
