About fast charging - Xiaomi Mi 4C

i noticed that quick charge on mi4c charging rapidly until 100% unlike most other phone that support quick charge it will start charging slowly at specific percentage .
will it bad for our phone?
and i use the fast charging adaptor most of the time, will it harm the battery?
thanks

If you use the power brick that comes with the device, I don't think it will and probably another bricks which supports quickcharge 2.0

[Q] Which is better for the battery trickle or mains?

I tend to charge my transformer by leaving it plugged into my pc via usb for most of the day.
Does anyone know if this is bad for the battery compared to using mains to charge?
Obviously with the transformer it takes a very long time to fully charge via usb so it is plugged in for hours and hours.
The battery is a Lithium Polymer (Lipo) so it doesnt have a memory like the old Nicads and its even better than NiMH or Li-ion. Newer Lipos can be charged at upwards of 2-3C. There is no benefit from trickle charging these batteries. The internal charging circuit wont allow it to happen anyway. Once the battery hits 4.2v per cell it will stop the charge. So to answer your question; no it doesnt matter which you use to charge it. Might as well use the main charger and have it done faster.
Interesting, but do we know the transformer uses the newer battery and could you provide a reference to the info for this newer type of li-ion battery?
Well in this case the 2-3C charging is irrelevant since we have no way of charging it that fast anyway since the TF has some sort of internal charging circuit. I was just trying to make the point that the main charger is not nearly putting out enough current to cause the battery any harm or for that matter a shorter life than the USB would. Looking at the AC charger it says 15v 1.2A so it should charge at about 2.5 times faster than a typical USB port if it were putting out 15v (it doesnt...it only puts out 5v 500mA). Im actually surprised that at 5v it manages to charge it at all....guess thats why it has to be off and sit there for 2 days.

I had the general impression that slower charging of batteries is usually better. You usually don't get something for nothing. If the newer batteries are different that great but where did you read this?

[Q] Anyone know of an app or method to trigger Fast Charging?

I know Adaptive Fast Charging doesn't kick in unless the battery is very low - less than 20%, I believe. And, yes, I have the 15 watt charger(s) that supports AFC/QC2.0
Does anyone know of a way, or if it's even possible, to trigger the phone to kick in fast charging at low, but not painfully low, rates?
Hi
My S6 always charges at the quickest speed possible because when I connect my Samsung Charger the phone tells me I have connected the fast charger and I know it is charging quickly because if I use another charger the time for a full charge will increase significantly. Are you using the official fast charger?
Yes, I've always experimented with the high-power charger that came with the phone.
Fast charging will speed up or slow down automatically based on how charged the battery is. The emptier the battery, the faster it will charge. This charge will slow down gradually as the battery fills up. I don't think there's a way to facilitate this, and even if there was, it probably would not be recommended to do as it might damage the battery.
Fast Charging is a concept, that comes into play when you are connected to the USB port of your PC. Typically when connected in MTP mode (or PTP FWIW), Phone charges slowly in order to prevent damage to the usb port. Certain kernels can permit fast charge provided your laptop has fastcharge usb.
For Wall charging, Rapidcharge technology does exist but requires original samsung charger. With any other OEM charger, it'd be a matter of luck since it'd need to have that 11th pin on the microusb.
Everything else that @Japultra is correct.
I'm almost too embarrassed to admit this, but it was the micro USB cord that wasn't letting my phone avail itself of the high-power adapters. I came across a thicker USB cable and, thinking/hoping that thicker cable also translated to higher gauge conducts, decided to try it out with my phone that was at 65%. Yup. The phone now indicated "fast charging".
I appreciate your forbearance, folks!

So the original cable that came with the s6 wasn't working for you?

Fast charging bugs

I have a strange problem about fast charging after marshmallow update
When I plug my phone it's say fast charging but it's not
I noticed that's battery charge like slow and phone is cooler
When I plugged the charger and put it on again my device charge a Real Fast charge battery is real charging device get warm
I tried to charge when phone is off and every thing is OK
But I always have this problem when I use my s6 and I have to notice device temperature so I plug charge on and off if the fast charging is FAKE
Sorry for my bad English

Slow Charging!

My 1.5 year olf Q6 is charging very slowly. The battery backup is still 1 day. But the charging rate is very slowly. It shows 3hrs+ for a full charge! What can I do?

get a minimum 2 Amps charger, this phone supports quickcharging (at least thats what i see, and what others said). the stock cable is fine but you might have to try another cable if your charger is already a quickcharge compatible. i can charge from 0 to full in about an hour with 2 amps, you might get better result with a better charger brick but i can't confirm.
I have a V30+ charging brick. That's QC 3.0 Will it work? EDIT: just tried it. It doesn't work. My phone has never shown Fast charging. It just shows charging. The stock brick is 5V1.2amps.
Which brick do you have?

i forgot to tell you it won't show anything that tells you its on quickcharging, the only thing that shows is the faster charge estimation, please try again and observe. my charger brick is a samsung adaptive fast charging with 2amps maximum rating, your charger should be better than mine. borrow another fast charge compatible brick if necessary, and also cable quality matters. else, welp might be hardware issues...
Tried a fresh cable and the stock charger. The old original cable was the culprit for the slow charging time. Charging time has come back to original fast levels. But it's the same with the V30+ charging brick. Don't have another phone that's QC. But will try if I get an opportunity
I'm using Battery saver in Maximum mode (with VIbration enabled) + Comfort View (highest level) with Grayscale. With moderate usage, it takes two days to drain the battery after fully. Though I recharge it at end of every day for an hour for the battery durability. I've also replaced Home with 'ap15 launcher which for me has proved lightest and most practical one.
My lg q6 canadian variant came with fast charging. It's region dependent. Though i don't know if you had fast charge on your variant
Same as my DSK unit. Charging slowly for about 5-6 hour with original wall charger

Cannot get Fast charging (15w) but can get Super Fast Charging

I have a note 20u 5g SM-N9860. While tinkering with charging options, I turned on Fast charging and disabled other options. However, when I connect stock charger and cable, it stays on CABLE CHARGING. When I turn on Super Fast Charging, it charges in Super Fast Charging mode.
Is anyone having this problem of not getting Fast Charging mode to work?
I think it depends on the charger. I don't think a super fast charger will just do fast charging. Super fast or just regular. At least that's been my experience.
Using my pixel chargers on the note it does just do fast charging, because that's all the charger is capable of.
There is an option to enable fast charging. There are two different options for fast charging and Super fast charging. Most probably that option is turned off. It is off by default.
I've experienced the same thing. You need to understand electrical currents and how the plug you putting your adaptor inside. To make it simple, use a charger that has usb a to usb c (old ones) for fast charging (samsung branded in my experience). This phone was designed to handle super fast charging anyway, why not use it?
None of the charge options make any sense to me on the N20U. Example , using an old samsung 18W brick charger. On slow charging it peaks to over 2000mA or over , on fast charging it peaks to around 2800mA. Using Accubattery to see value whilst charging. Using a 10W apple brick charger it charges are around 1000mA however.
This behavior was present across three different N20U devices.
Easiest way is to look at the charge indicator.
Around 1% a minute is snail charging.
Around 2% a minute is fast charging.
