Missing functions on my N920T? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hello, I bought a N920T unlocked (wifi tether seems to work good too) and I live in Europe. I'm having a couple of "issues". Apart from missing the BAND 8 for WCDMA which I was aware of, I'm running into a couple of "troubles". I'm on N920TUVU4DPK6.
1) TEXT TO SPEECH. I can set my native language, Italian, but I can download the Normal Quality pack only. The only one High Quality pack available in the list is Korean. I can force download Italian HQ from Galaxy Apps but then I can't enable it. What's up?
2) S-VOICE. Fully working in Italian too but it shows me weather in Fahrenheit degrees. No available option in Settings to change weather settings. I'd really like to see Celsius. Stock weather Widget is working fine... Any tips?
3) SAMSUNG CLOUD is unable to backup. Tried it a lot of times but an error occurs. Always. No problem on Note 4 (when they released the fix, some day ago). No fix on Note 5 and no Samsung Cloud? (Used Smart Switch for now)
Just matter of curiosity:
4) No emoji suggetions in Note 5 keyboard? Missing it from Note 4.
5) No way to read (text to voice) notifications, caller id, messages, alarm names as used to do with Note 4?
6) This was really WEIRD. When i bought it (pre-owned) I was litterally stuck on a very old fw. COK one if I recall good. I tried to update using OTA and Smart Switch but it stated that my phone was up-to-date. No OTA available outside US?
I flashed N920TUVU4DPK6 using Odin and everything went good. Checked system status and it's Official. Checked Knox counter with Knox Status from playstore and it's not tripped. So can't figure why I can't just update using OTA or Smart Switch. It sounds so strange to me.
Thank you and happy new year!

Also in Europe and have a stock 0×0 Knox note 5 and always received otas

[Q] Twitter Trend Edge App Region

So I'm really happy with my Note Edge, and ordered one from a reputable online retailer two weeks ago and received a French phone - but as I'm in the UK, the phone is designed for any EU country, so for example all instructions are in English, French and other EU languages. When setting up my phone, I of course made sure that everything was set up in English and that location was set up as UK.
BUT - the Twitter app for the Edge screen for some reason thinks I'm in France, and on launching the app it starts for 1-2 seconds in English but then starts to show French trends. I have tried everything - installing the full Twitter app and logging on, turning on my location, turning the Twitter Edge app off and on..etc - but to no avail. I emailed Samsung who told me they don't provide support for 3rd party apps, even though the Twitter Trend app came pre-installed, cannot be uninstalled, and is one of the key apps used by Samsung to showcase the phone. The only thing I haven't tried is to do a factory reset, which is such a hassle to do considering how long it took me to customise every minute detail of the phone.
It would be much-appreciated if anyone has any suggestions, and basically I think that somewhere on the phone it is telling the app that I am in France. If the Twitter Trend Edge screen app had its own settings that would be easy - but it doesn't and everywhere else I can find the location has been set to UK.

I used to have this issue with my phone showing twitter trends in Korean as mine is the Korean model and I'm in London.
I noticed turning on the 'location' fixed that problem but then again, some other times even with the location turned on it would change the language back to Korean...
Try this if you already haven't and see if it works.

Thanks - already tried it and tried it again but still no luck. Who should provide support in this case, Samsung or Twitter?

Huawei P8 Max Model DAV-702L, problems

What I bought in Japan and I am having problems of synchronization and notification. Emails arrive more tade that in my Note 4. The watssapp, it often does not reach when it is in standby mode. The contacts are no longer synchronized with watsapp with frequency...I'm using It in Spain, I have good LTE coverage, but I'm disappointed with the problems of Huawei. Someone has installed a rom new? Any solution? Thank you.
Rooted?
No rooted, is new, only one week.
Are the Protected in System Manager?
I have tried it all. I don't get notifications from twitter or watsapp. It does not update the temperature in the weather widget. Not updated the widget of the calendar...The only thing that works more or less well is gmail, although in my Note 4 to arrive before the notifications. I have reset several times on the phone, restoring to factory settings, but no...I have called Huawei Europe but I say that the be bought in japan I do not give support...
Root, freeze/delete Huawei-System-Manager and your notification problem will be solved.
I wanted to do it, but he seen that the procedure that explains XDA Developers is for model DAV 701 and 703. Would serve to my model , the Dav-702?

How to remove Vodafone preparing apps notifications?

I'm in the US and bought a 930F international unlocked version. I'm running on Cricket and phone works perfectly except for one little annoyance...
About once every 5 minutes I get a notification saying Vodafone: preparing Vodafone apps. The notification lasts for a few seconds then goes away. I could normally ignore this but when I'm playing games on the Gear VR the notification appears front and center floating in space for a few seconds every five minutes.
I believe the phone is from Italy as that was the initial default language, and I presume Vodafone was the original carrier.
Is there away to stop this notification appearing, preferably without rooting?
Having the same message on my German phone which is also Vodafone branded. I guess the only way would be to removing the system app because it wouldn't let you deactivate it.
So afaik the only option would be root. This and also ads are the only reason for me to root this phone (which I haven't done yet ?)
If you have the 930F/935F. Visit http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G930F/ or http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G935F/ and download an unbranded ROM and flash it using odin.
I prefer UK or UAE ROMs. You can use samsung pay with those ROMs.
This won't trip knox and you don't need to root to flash official ROMs.

Android Nougat and the Gear S2, does it work?

Hi all,
I wanted to let you guys know that the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic both work on Android 7.0 Nougat
I'm using a Oneplus One running 7.0.
The point I tried to connect the watch my phone denied it and told be connection couldn't be made.
After turning the Bluetooth on and off again I was able to connect my Gear S2 with my phone (Probably a ROM bug)
[Improvements]
Everything seems to work fine and I even saw improvements.
Since Android Nougat I am able to see pictures of whatsapp messages, I wasn't able to do that on Marshmallow.
[Bugs]
There is 1 bug, I'm not sure if it's my ROM or the compatibility.
When I browse through my quick launch apps I see the messaging app, the app to send and receive Sms with.
I never saw this app on Marshmallow and it worked!
The app isn't available in the application list, only in the quick launch widget.
Too bad, after adding the app the widget will reset itself or the messaging app disappear from the quick launch widget after a certain time.
You can re-add it and use it, it's just an annoying bug.
[So, does it work?]
Yes, The S2 as well as the apps you need (S health included) works fine, no problems at all so far.
And if I will find one, I will post it here.
Hi, is your device encrypted? I'm planning on buying the s2..but grew hesitant after reading that encrypted phones are having synchronization issues.
(Btw i'm on nexus 6p)
Thanks.
How about phone calls? I have this weird bug that whenever i get a phone call, the names would show up on the gear....but on the phone, only numbers... like i dont have the person thats calling in my contacts.
And my phone wont display names until I delete samsung apps that connects to my phone.
Are you getting the same thing too?
I have the V20 (now with android 7)

Watchmaker (App) Issues

Hey guys,
So I recently downloaded the new Watchmaker app that was released for Tizen (finally), but I'm running into some issues and was wondering if you guys were experiencing the same problems or have any fixes.
The problems are basically to do with the sensors.. So for all of the watch faces, my steps are showing as 0, the weather is showing as default (something like 6 degrees with 95% POP), and heart rate doesn't update as it should. For the heart rate, if I reload the watch face, it updates with the newest heart rate (I think), but the steps and weather are stuck at default (0 for steps).
Mostly everything else works (battery, stop watch, time, etc...), but for some reason the steps and weather won't update. I have checked to see that the scripts were correct..
For heart rate it's {shr}, for steps it's {ssc}, weather is {wtd}.
So, anyone experiencing these issues or have any fixes? I'm definitely out of ideas.
Thanks
Wait for an update. It's still new and buggy for now.
Sensors don't work reliably for me either, it's an app issue as noted, steps are way off.

Where did you see that...I'm running the newest beta of the watch WM app, and steps still don't work.

I read something about it over on the developers Google+ page.
It mentioned being updated and submitted to Google for approval so should be due about Wednesday.

Thanks, I hang out over there and all I've seen from Alex Curran (WM team) on things addressed in updates is below, which doesn't include a fix for reading sensors/getting accurate step data. However (some good news here) Alex did said today in a post on G+ that Tizen 3.0 (not released yet) will provide access to the watch sensors from native Tizen 3rd party apps. For some reason (known only so Samsung), currently only web apps (like the Facer app) have access to the step sensor, and WM (being a native Tizen app) can't access the watch's step sensor (at least not until Tizen 3.0 is released).
So hopefully Samsung will release Tizen 3.0 soon!
WM watch up stuff in progress...Have you seen anything else?
Two days ago, from Alex:

Watchmaker doesn't seem to like custom roms on rooted Samsung devices (KLTEDV with custom Nougat rom). I can get it on the phone but when trying to install the companion app to the watch (Gear S3) the phone crashes. All my other companion apps install without issue from phone to watch, it's just Watchmaker that doesn't want to play the game? Yes I do know that I can always go back to a stock rom but it just seems a bit unusual that this app is the odd one out amongst the rest?
I was able to install Watchmaker on my Gear S2 with a Samsung Note 3 on custom Kitkat rom (SlimROM). My issues so far are that I can't update the app on the Gear S2 (even though it states "installed" in the notification, I only see the installation icon looping indefinitely on the Gear Store on my phone) and Watchmaker can't update weather status anymore...
I'm having similar issues with my Gear S3 and Watchmaker.
I can build faces and scripts that run and update great in the app, but then don't function properly once loaded on the S3.
Examples: Temperature units are always displayed as C regardless of setting in both app and watch.
Temps and weather info don't udate on the watch. They just display whatever value they had when I pushed the face from my phone to the S3.
Timezone handling is off, even on my phone. Trying to set something as simple as UTC is horrific. And having a clock that displays the time at home when I'm traveling doesn't work no matter how I've defined the time zones. Very frustrating.
Ok...most of my issues seem to be resolved now. One problem was my phone somehow got stuck in a manual time zone mode. Fixed now. Took a couple of sending the eatch face to my watch but suddenly started displaying other timezones properly.
Ditto for weather status.
Only remaining problem was temps are still in Celcius, but some trivial math worked around that.

My watch maker can't seem to find my gear s3. even after i reboot and do all the suggestions.
Hello guys! I've changed my smartphone and I've re-installed watchmaker, and now, I can't find a way to make the phone's battery level more frequent refresh.. I don't remember.. Thanks
WM S3 gear step counter
Dear friends,
WM obviously can not show steps from gear S3, using the sensor built in. Nevertheless there is a workaround using data from S-Health app. Now my question : step value on my gear shows 9012 steps, counter on s-health app shows equal value of 9012 steps,
but on watchface from WM it shows 14827 steps. Using {ssc} command for this value.
Does anybody has an idea where this value comes from, or how to setup that both values are equal.
By the way, setting for
Settings: Watch
Steps source for Gear S2/S3 (Samsung Health on Phone (Strategy 1)
Thanks for support

It's the S-Health app on your phone since it's showing your combined steps from both phone and S3. I tried changing this in the S-Health app to stop counting steps on the phone and that did work, but now it seems to have stopped the S-Health auto-sync of getting the steps from the S3. When I launch the S-Health app on my phone, then it syncs them. I tried changing it back to combined and turned the phones step count back on to try and get auto-sync back, but it didn't fix it. Anyway, I'm now stuck with no autosync of steps from the S3 for my troubles.
If you want to try this as your, pardon the pun, mileage may vary, here we go, but note that this could put you in the same no auto-sync between S-Health and the S3 situation that I'm in now.
Open the S-Health app on your phone, select Steps to get to the steps main screen, select the hamburger menu and then select View your Step Count Data, select the mobile phone, now select the hamburger menu and you'll see how to stop the phone from counting steps. Then select the hamburger menu and select View your Step Count Data and set it to the S3 or All Steps since it's the phones S-Health step count is disabled.

Sad... since this thread started.. this app STILL has problems..for me at least
I had a similar problem with the steps recorded by phone and gear. After I managed to filter only the steps from gear (in a custom app) I found out that the synchronization between the phone and gear is very bad. Even the steps count changes in the gear, the SHealth on my phone still displays the old value. If I disconnect and reconnect the gear it updates the value. Not reliable for a company app.
Thoughts?
Can't install companion app on Gear S3
Strange
I have Watchmaker on my Galaxy S8+ but when I try to install the companion app on my Gear S3 I receive an error msg saying that this app is not available any longer for purchase, or that it's not supported in my country or device.
I purchased the full version and have it installed on my phone.

Use SDB (Smart Development Bridge) from your computer to install the tpk file.
1) To use the SDB in a target device, set the device to the SDB mode by going to Settings > More system settings > Developer options > USB debugging in the device menu.
2) Turn on wifi (not auto) on your watch and make sure the watch is connected to the same wifi as your pc.
3) Use sdb connect and sdb install commands to perform the install. More details about SDB here: https://developer.tizen.org/dev-guide/2.4/org.tizen.devtools/html/common_tools/smart_dev_bridge.htm
