LTE band tool? - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Is there anyway to determine which LTE band the phone is connected? I checked LTE Discovery app, but seems like it is not able to detect. I was able to use this app on my tmo-us LG g4. I am on tmo-us and sometimes I wonder whether I am on band 4 or 12.

I wonder how well this'll work if I'm running a T-mo SIM on my VZW device.

GSM on Droid Ultra

Hey!
I'm planning to buy a Droid Ultra soon and will be using it on a GSM Network.
Since the Droid family is made specifically for Verizon's CDMA network, will it work on my country's GSM networks?
Carriers in my country use the following bands;
950/1800 for 2G, 2100 for 3G and 1800 for LTE.
Droid Ultra/MAXX/Mini are factory unlocked for GSM operation, just requires a SIM card from your provider and possibly adding APN information to get it to work. Whether or not it works in LTE mode depends on which LTE bands your carrier uses, of course, and if it's not supported then the Ultra/MAXX/Mini will fall back to using HSPA+ mode.

Thank you!
Thats all I needed to know.
LTE will not work, everything else will work. I live in Hungary and we use 800/1800/2600 MHz for LTE. It's not supported in the Droid Ultra/Maxx/Mini, but 2G/3G works just fine, except for the 950 MHz band for GSM, it's also not supported, 850/900/1800/1900 is supported.

Just confirming.. Works perfectly fine in México even whit 4G.
Tested whit Telcel.

Yes, for you, it works, but the OP says the operator there uses 1800 MHz for LTE, which is not supported by the phone. I guess your operator uses 1700 MHz for LTE.

Just at because the sim does the phone might not support that band.

Hi Hyelton, thank you for your reply. The phone does too, its listed on the specifications and it picks up the band and the network when I do a manual search for available networks. when trying to connect it connects to the HSPA+ network not LTE. I believe this is a limitation that ATT might have added. I need someone help me remove it.

AT&T would NOT have a limitation on it. If you do a network search and it comes up, and fails to connect something somewhere else is wrong. Make sure you have the correct APN?
The APN settings have been checked and work fine on a note 3 N9005, somethings up with the d850, can someone help with that please
the phone does, the speck says, roaming 1800 on the att site and even the lg specs say it does. the but i think the stock rom on the att d850 some how prevents it, please help

32GB Nvidia Shield LTE as a phone?

I've got the opportunity to purchase a (post recall) Nvidia Shield LTE 32GB unit. With the LTE will this allow me to use it as a phone for calls as well?

If you use WhatsApp over WiFi then yes.
Thank you for the reply. Can I use it to place a call with my AT&T phone number, sim card inserted on Lte? I've heard the international LTE version supports telephony.

LTE exists inside bands 2, 4, 5, 7, and 17 (1900, 1700, 850, 2600, 700), meaning you’re able to roll with AT&T as well as T-Mobile USA LTE inside the United States.

I'm researching how the LTE radios behave on the TMobile firmware as opposed to the stock firmware. Mine sticks to band 66 TMobile at home all the time, whereas my other T mobile branded devices switch bands depending on what room in the house I am at.

I've noticed this as well on DP4. As for your original question, if a TMo variant can flash the International software via MSM tool, I don't see why the International variant can't flash the TMo software using the same tool. You'll obviously lose one SIM slot, though.

I live in Memphis with plenty of cell towers around me and they're 99% of the time locked on to Band 66. I've only occasionally seen Band 2. They said completion was supposed to be done last year, but I've never seen Band 71. I don't know whether it's a DP4 false reading or not but while taking screenies for this post, I just got my best signal strength ever at -70 dBm

At my home location I primarily have three available LTE bands , band 12, 2 and 66 central Florida. On my Samsung device which is TMobile version it switches often between those bands. However on my dm1917 device it sticks on band 66 indefinitely at my home.
Signal strength on all the above bands range from -90 to -119db at my home.
