My moto E is having battery problems. I charge my phone to full battery, sometimes during a whole afternoon or night. Then in the morning or at 100% i unplug the usb. The phone then last a while on battery, but suddenly the battery drops to 0% and the phone shuts down. I can't get the phone back on again unless i plug it in with the usb to charge it. Then the battery charges ridiculously fast to 100%, sometimes in just a few minutes. When i check the battery graph it shows that the phone uses battery steadily for a while until there is a sudden and steep drop for no reason whatsoever. This drop occurs randomly sometimes at around 90% charge, sometimes 80%, 70%, 60%... There are no special apps running, and the phone is not even connected to the internet, not by WIFI or the phone network. Why is this happening? I can't leave my house with my new phone without the charger cable, even at 100% battery, because often i end up looking for a computer to charge my phone on after only an hour or two because my phone has shut down!
Can anyone help?

Hi!
I am using CarbonROM 5.1 and I have a problem with the system shutting down at around 30%. The phone does not switch off immediately, but suddenly show 0% battery and shuts down properly. After restarting the phone it stays on for a few seconds and shuts down again. After connecting a charger to the switched off phone the battery level is shown between 20% and 30% and rapidly rises by around 5-15%. And with the charger connected to the phone it stays on. As soon as the battery level is over 35% I can use the phone without the charger... by the time we reach 30% again.
Do I need to replace the battery?
It's a good indication of a bad battery. If you open the device up, you will most likely notice that the battery is slightly swollen.
That happens to LiPo batteries that are about to die/are dead.
They start their death with the sign as you describe it. They can't supply the device with enough current at lover voltages any more (increased internal resistance). This causes the battery to drastically drop in voltage and the device suddenly shuts down due to the too low voltage.
As the title states, that happens sometimes. My phone reaches 5% because i couldn't charge it for whatever reason and i rush to connect it like tonight and as soon as I plugged it in it shut down and showed 1%. Is the battery slowly dying or at least low few %? Sometimes that doesn't happen, sometimes it shuts off even without connecting to charger while really low.
It's not a habit of mine to let it go down that low but sometimes it happens and it worried me.

You need to replace the battery. No other solution for this kind of problem

In time then, now it happens rarely enough but when it starts shutting off at higher % I'll do it.
Just weird that it shuts off when I connect it to charger and the remaining % disappear
It is weird but don't replace your battery yet. Wait for it to die completely because if you'll replace your battery now you will lose water resistance.
Aw man, didn't know about that. Today when I got home it was at 9% and as I connected it it dropped to 4% so it seems I've lost 5% somewhere
Hi everyone, im having a problem with this phone:
1- Charging the phone never reach 100% in one charge, it always stops charing at a random number, for example 70%, no matter how much time i let the phone charging it never goes past that. The solution is unplug and plug again, then it reaches 100%.
2- The number 1 is not a big deal but this is. The phone automatically turn off at a random number again, let say 66%, and i cant turn it on. If i connect the phone to the charger it says 0% battery. Is not like the % freezes at 66% and i use it all day and then turn off. For example, i have the phone at 100%, i start using it and i see the % going down like normal and after an hour or two of using it suddenly turn off and im not able to turn it on again because the battery is at 0%.
I tried:
Hard reset, wiping cache, data.
Hard reset, wiping cache, data and installing the latest stock rom.
New battery.
Different charger.
I have no idea what else to try, anyone have a clue?
Thanks!
I think the battery is broken, also had the problem. Then I bought me one on Ebay for 9,99€ and now everything is good again.
Try using a -known- good cable and charger.
Make sure the port contacts are clean and debris free. Always charge with screen off.
You can also try powering the phone off and see if this alters its charging pattern.
My best guess...
When it auto shuts down again pull the battery and measure its actual voltage to determine if it's at about 6%.
If actual voltage indicates it's at 6%* may be a bad battery (limited capacity) or a hardware failure (shutting the charge cycle down prematurely).
If battery actually has 20% or higher when the phone shuts down) it indicates a hardware failure in the phone.
If battery temp exceeds about 102°F during charging the phone will abort the charge; make sure this isn't the cause. A hot charging battery in a cool room could indicate a battery or hardware failure. If battery temp exceeds 107°F or so in operation the phone may also auto shutdown.
Excessive cold (>32°F) will effect battery capacity severely.
Don't charge a cold Li battery (under 70°F).
Never charge if at or below freezing**.
Li's like a charge temp range of 80-95°F
They prefer frequent, short mid range charge cycles (40-65%) vs topping them off beyond 80%
*hunt down the voltage/% charge for this battery
**can cause Li plating which will permanently degrade the cell
Hey fourm, sorry for the long read but if anyone is technically savvy with batteries or voltages/electrical components please read! this might not be specific to a Fold but any device may suffer from what my device is suffering from.
I have recently had issues with my Galaxy Fold Z2 and it unexpectedly dropping to 0% charge, the first time this happened yesterday i was in an application and was switching from the larger display into the smaller one, upon closing the display the phone shut down and i wasn't able to get anylife out of the phone except a vibration when holding the power button, but nothing on the screen. I had about 35% battery at the time but all of a sudden it was at 0, after putting it on the charger it spring back into life. Today however i experienced an even worse problem... My battery was around 55% and i was connecting my phone to my cars bluetooth and importing contacts to the cars console, suddenly the battery went from 55% down to 9% instantly! i was shocked and took a screenshot of the battery graph showing its gradual decline from 100% to 55% but not to 9% to highlight the sudden drop, the battery status on the top of the notification bar was showing 9% all of a sudden but the graph wasnt just to actually see the drop! after that drop in battery it only took about a 30 seconds for that 9% of battery to jump down to 1% again in an instant fashion, following this only a few seconds later it shut down.I was thinking it could just be a dodgy battery for whatever reason but after trying to charge my phone after this sudden crash from 55%-9%-Flat i was unable to charge it up. The phone would signify that it was charging but not giving me a percentage, it would show the charging animation (the animation you get when phone is off and charging) but would only last for around 3-5 seconds before shutting off again and showing the charging icon again, and then shutting off again and rinse and repeat on a loop without charging but attempting too and resetting every few seconds! So for about an hour i couldnt get it to boot/charger properly and i almost gave up, but i decided to try a different charger, i was using the 25w supplied charger but i switched to a 15w older one and the phone ran the charge animation again however this time it identified the battery was charged at 55% rather that it not showing any charge level and resetting and trying again as it did before, this time it went right to 55% and from here the phone booted up and is working normally again!
Im really not sure whats wrong, im starting a process to send the phone back but i really wish to know whats wrong with my device! if anyone has any clue to this strange behaviour please let me know!

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Questions & Answers
Last night after a couple of hours playing game, i fall asleep accidentally with my game still running.
When i woke up, i saw my phone turn off. I charging my phone then.
When i plug in the cable, the phone start charging at 5%. As for my experience usually when battery drop, it start charging at 0%.
So, it make me think that my phone turn off automatically when battery capacity drop below 5%.
I don't have complain about it. Instead, its a great feature for me who have bad habit.
But i still haven't found how to setting it up.
I want to setting it so my phone will turn off after battery capacity below 10%, not 5%.
So any solution to do that?
