This problem I already told author, it seems may take some time to translate database, hope it can be done in July.
maybe, as a fast option, you/he can use Google Translate. it has been done for LBE, and I assume it should also work for this.
May I suggest not to ask everytime if the new code worked or not and make instead a simple button OK. When tuning new device that is not in the list it is uncomfortable to tap button to try new code then look at device then look at phone to tap No and tap again to beam new code and look at device and etc

there is a native button on top, you can search your device model inside, or you can go to cloud tab, search model in other users' DIY remote. The only problem is that database is not fully in English as i mentioned before, because now most of user are from asia, model name is created by them in different language. this problem I already reflected to author, hope them can fixed it soon.

I understand it but I try to make the scheme of tuning when device is not on the list or cloud more simple and user-friendly
works great with my Samsung TV, I could finally remove the WatchON app, this one is enough.

Could somebody say to me what is SLR and IR switch?
Hi,
anyone can recommend any application (if it exists) that would be able to read GPX tracks and give me a view on the watch whether I am on track or not? In best case over a map. Doesn't have to be stand alone. I usually have my phone with me anyway. I just don't want to be pulling out my phone every now and then.
Thanks.
Hey,
I´m interested in the exact same thing. Need it for biking, hiking and more.
Also I was wondering if there is a possibility to sync it with google maps or an other Navigation App on my Phone. Would love to start Maps on my Phone type in my destination and follow it on the watch. So that I don`t have to pull out my Phone again and again if I´m lost in the city for example.
Thanks
I'm interested in this too. Also, I know that Viewranger offer an Android app but not a Tizen compatible one. Does anyone know of a mapping app suitable for hiking etc. (i.e. will work with gpx route files or similar) that is available for Tizen?
I found out something already. Komoot seems to be pretty close. Although it works on Gear S3, it doesn't seem to offer this functionality yet on the watch. Offers it on sister Android application though. I sent them question/request today on this. They seem to be listening to requests from user community so perhaps they listen and act. Maybe it helps if you write them too.

Komoot have advised me that they already have an app compatible with the Gear. This is what they said:
Hi Gareth we already have done that! You can get the Gear app extension you need for the komoot app to communicate with your watch in the Samsung Gear Store. Can you tell me, which phone you are using? Best regards Daniela

I told her I've just ordered my S3 Frontier from Amazon.es and hope to get it next week, so will try their app then and report back.
Of course they have. That's what I mention above ("it works on Gear S3") but it doesn't offer the funcionality we are looking for. You can't see GPX track on watch together with your position (and map underneath it in best case) so you can follow it. I assume it offers just navigation (shows only direction signs) but Komoot doesn't navigate on external GPX tracks.
I got e-mail moment ago from them too saying:
Currently not, but you can post your suggestion in our forum here:

Hi all, I am not sure if anyone managed to get any progress on this but I am happy to inform you that finally there is an application that does what we have been looking for. It is called Gear Navigator (http://mobiteka.pl/index.php/component/k2/item/257-navigator) so feel free to test. There are still some things that can be improved but the essential features are there. I have been running it since beginning of Frebruary and I am very satisfied. Feel free to provide your comments and findings.

With Gear Navigation you can open GPX tracks and you get the map on your watch, better than Komoot in that way. It would be nice if it could work without the phone and without internet, even by just showing the tracks and your position, even without the surrounding map. That would make it more "hiker friendly" for those situations in which you may not have the phone (or need to keep it off to save battery) and you don't have any internet.
I see that the new Gear Navigation Standalone states to have GPX features, but I can't figure out how to upload a GPX to the watch or to the app!
Anyone tried it?
Well, I didn't use it without internet connection yet but I was expecting that the only limitation would be that I won!'t see the actual map but still see the track and my position. Do you say you tried but it doesn't work that way?

You're right, it seems to work even withouth internet. It keeps the map that's in cache, so if you preloaded the area you would even have the map. That's pretty sweet, kind of what the Fenix 5x does for just 800 euros!
That's great news. I was actually cooperating with the Gear Navigator developer and pursuaded him to develop the GPX feature. I did highlight to him that although the feature does what I wanted, the biggest gap I see is the inability to use the app without data connection. I even think the maps from Google are not the best for outdoor activities. He told me he will consider it but I am not very optimistic about it as it would be too much work for him and it seems that the demand is quite small.
Hi,
New owner of a samsung gear, i'm looking for what you discuss about!
Gear navigator is quiet good and seems the better!!! But something missing for me, i would like to import gpx from another place in order to follow it on the map, bit i didn't sucess.
If someone have some advice to do it, it would be great!!
Hi,
It's easy. You just click on the GPX file (in file browser, not GPX Navigator) a choose to open it in Gear Navigator.
R.
Okay, I'm trying to locate this app. Is it "Gear Navigator Standalone"? I only have a Bluetooth model so does this app need a watch with a data connection? Or does it need a phone and does it only work with Samsung phones? I've got a Blackberry Priv which is a BB ANDROID phone.
While the price of $2.99 is not outrageous, I really don't want to spend money if it is not going to work (no refund in the samsung store????).
JurekDJ, when you mention just above, open the file in the file browser, if this on a phone or on the watch - as you may be able to tell, I'm fairly new to the watch.
Any other info would be most helpful.
In the English USER manual for the Mate 9, there is a section describing the SMART CONTROLLER ir remote controller application and how to use it. Its quite clear that for my Mate 9 that this application is NO WHERE to be found. I have this model: (6GB/128 GB Model MHA-AL00 / Build Number: MHA-AL00 C00B137). I have the 2 SIM version sold by a HK seller on eBay.
I was able to find and load the SMART CONTROLLER ir application (apk) for the Huawei P9 from another Huawei site online. There were a couple "wrong version for your device" messages during the install, but the app loaded and seems to function normally.
My questions...
- Has anyone else had this issue?
- Is there a version of this program specific for the Mate 9 I could get my hands on?
- What are others recommending as far as a ir remote control application?
Thanks to all.

I'm using the same version as you and I have the app ir remote control.... It's working good but the learning function doesn't work almost all the time.... So don't worry download Anymote ir remote control and you will be very happy...
But you have to know that YES there is an app for ir remote
I think you can download it from Hiapp too if someone gives you the specific name from hiapp manage category... I can because I have deleted it
Thank you!

Thank you for the great tips!
Seems like the after market remote control apps are a better bet!
By the way...do you have the options to do WiFi calling on your phone? In the English manual its says its there, but its not present on my build.

I personally disagree that a different IR app is better. The learning function doesn't work very well, but once you get it working, you can have it control anything. I've got my Mate 9 controlling my lighting, my TV (it's a strange brand so none of the apps know the codes for it, so I needed to use the learning function) and my air conditioner. It's pretty great.

Why to get tired trying and trying... You delete this app and you install Anymote with learning function that works great
Is Anymote able to learn? Trying the free version, but it's telling me learning is not supported on my Porche Design Mate 9. Or do you mean Anymote Home?
The built-in IR app is working decently anyways, I just programmed it to control my pretty much unknown room Ventilator/Light and it seems to work just fine, first time I'm able to get a phone to control it, never found it in any app's database. Not the most fancy or flexible thing I've ever seen, but it gets the job done. As long as your real remote is sending a decent signal, it looks like the learning is pretty consistent.

Hey,
Does anybody know how to send data to the MFD (Multi Function Display)? I have a Corsa D. I get a "Welcome!!!" when it starts up.
I've tried decompiling a few apps (MTCCanbus, PCRadio) to see how they do it but it's pretty convoluted since you don't get the original variables and class names when decompiling.
Edit:
Just adding some useful resources to help me in my endeavors.

I think someone may have done it in the very similar MTCB/C headuntis a few years back. You would also have to know all the code for your car's CAN Bus system as well I think

Yes, it exists, but you need to find it and work out how to make it say what you want, I think it has been done to some extent for VWs, but I cant remember where, so youve got 3 years of MTCB forum to search through including the massive megathread that existed for 18 months before we got our own forum.

Sure. In MTCMusic, you'd override the SendCanbusinfo(int, int) method in com.microntek.music/MusicActivity to broadcast the com.microntek.canbusdisplay intent action with extra time set to something other than the current playing time.
Of course this would only work for MTCMusic. If you wanted to use a 3rd-party media player, you could construct the same broadcast intent and pass the same info.

any update?
hello.
i have read and search for hours about "sending data to MFD" but im finaly not found what im lookink for.
my car is a Seat exeo/audi A4 b6
hu is xtrons PB78AA4P (gs) mit @Malaysk Rom android 8
i'am looking for the folders "com.microntek.music/MusicActivity" but i cant find them on my device. (i have searched in every folder)
how can i access this feature?
i want to write a feature to make a "custom welcome message" on the MFD and the next feature is to show the title of the current track is played instead of the playtime.
should i use xposed or make them with an .apk?
Following this. Also the radio RDS station name to be displayed on the MFD will be a great feature.Mine display only the station frequency on MFD display.( VW Passat )
Hi,
I bought a P20 few days ago and it's perfect except for.... it dos not read QR/Bar code in Banks apps... I posted it in some Facebook groups and other people expressed the same problem... pls, someone know what happens?
I have this issue in google pay app. Camera doesnt recognise bar codes when scanning loyality cards.
But no one confirmed me this issue till now. Thanks. This is the next thing arter VLC, Asphalt that doesnt work in huawei phones
And i checked on my friends huawei p20 lite that hers phone recognise barcodes.
What rom do you have?
I'm using the original EMUI 8.1.0 (EML-L29 8.1.0.130(C605).
It's a big inconvenient... once every time that i need to pay something i need to type all the barcode
I heard that Huawei will sell smartphones here in Brazil on the next quarter... here we use a lot this barcode function inside bank's apps... so, i thing that it need to be fixed fast...
Tks for your attention my friend.
