For Letv le1 pro if you have TWRP installed you won't be able to update via OTA automatically. It will fail and it is a real pain to always download the full rom package and flash. Moreover an OTA update notification will pop up continuously which is really annoying.
Here I will tell how to update via TWRP by doing a small modification to the OTA package.
Things Needed:
Winrar
Notepad ++
Steps
1. At first download the OTA package but don't reboot to install it
2. Copy the update zip from the ota update folder of you phone to your pc
3. Open the update.zip file but don't extract it. Just open it via winrar
4. In winrar window navigate to META-INF>com>google>android>updater-script
5. Double click on updater script and open it with Notepad ++
6. In Notepad++ window delete everything from row 8 up to the above line of "# radio update task" like the image sample below
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-mgR2LkvkEtQjVSU0tsNWdXRjQ/view?usp=sharing
7. Save it and close winrar
8. Copy this zip file to your phone and you will able to flash it via TWRP.
thank u for this helpful tutorial
hi @ante0
after a week of using oreo,i've downgraded to C185B187.
oreo has some issues like draining battery, weird "undetected root" error after installing busybox in /system/xbin (u have to make a new folder in system first, then install busybox) and over heating even when the phone is in charge and fully charged already...
now i need those root files that u gave me before for b182 !
Need a boot image (and can u explain what this image does? )
(also how to make one )
and SuperSU-v2.82-SR5
SuperSU 2.82 SR5 if you decrypt: https://download.chainfire.eu/1220/SuperSU/SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip
SuperSU 2.82 SR5 if you stay encrypted: https://mega.nz/#!ZTBQXZra!JHUocH9oMEApULxfLYm9VO5UPhjHNMGLymkXDY_ihhI
Boot MHA-L29C185B187: https://mega.nz/#!IL4gxCaL!_O0B1rm-eys5Ta8CnD5BfXsyLTGM3RXdtZ09v7kWUk4
Or you could just make a backup of your current boot image using TWRP.
If you want to do it yourself in the future:
Download your current firmware from http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/
Extract update.app from downloaded update.zip, download Huawei Update Extractor (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454)
Open update.app in Huawei Update Extractor, rightclick on what you want to extract and select "Extract Selected".
This image can only be flashed using fastboot (at least when I extract it). You can unpack and repack using Android Image Kitchen to make a TWRP flashable image.
What boot is... It's the ramdisk and kernel.

Basically it tells your phone how to boot xD

It's just stock boot. SuperSU works fine with it when you're on B182+.
It's only useful if you want to flash back stock boot, to maybe switch to Magisk or if SuperSU doesn't want to update.
I did modify the SuperSU "for_encrypted", I just changed "KEEPENCRYPTED=false" to "true". It just tells the installer to not remove the encryption tag so it stays encrypted.
Edit: one reason to modify boot is to "pre-root", but it's not needed for Mate 9. Another is to remove encryption or verity manually.
Hello,
I get a notification that I can update my P20 Pro from .131 version to .152 version.
The update has around 700MB, the problem is that when my update gets downloaded and when I reboot the device it reboots the device in to a TWRP where I get an error 9 with an information that the update has failed to install.
What can I do?
Should I remove TWRP, would that help?
I really want that update since I have very bad SOT (4 hours of SOT max )
Thank you all in advance
Hi,
We can't do it if you have TWRP. You must use HuRUpdater.
I did it on my P20.
You can use Huawei Firmware Finder APK on play store to download the packages.
(I will do it with 8.1.0.164 )
How to use:
Warning: Make sure you know what you are doing and do not flash firmware from other devices.
Download firmware files (for official firmware use Huawei Firmware Finder).
Put files you want to flash in a seperate folder on sdcard.
Supported zip files to flash are (name must match):
update.zip (use FullOTA file)
update_all_hw.zip
update_data_public.zip
Optional: Put recovery.img in same folder if you want to keep custom recovery.
I flashed the newest version off oneplus website and so I have root I magisk patch the boot.img my phone is telling me there's a newer update on update servers but, how do I get ahold of it so I can patch the boot.img to root.

1st, if you have any magisk modules or mods installed, disable them and reboot.
2nd. You can download the update via system updates, it will say root is detected and will download the full OTA. Download and install (note it wil install automatically).
3. Install finished, it will ask to reboot. DO NOT reboot.
4 Open magisk and press the first 'Install' option and select " install on inactive slot, After OTA"
Done.
At that point your phone is rooted. There are several ways to download the updates, like in xda forums, Oneplus website, Oxygen updater app and System updates (the one on step 2 ) etc... if you want to keep a copy of the update zip file. You can grab it from the .ota. Folder in the internal storage using a file manager while the update is installing and copy it to another location.
hi someone pls help me i get this error when trying to install magisk on twrp:
Code:
Could not find 'META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' in the zip file.
Error installing zip file 'sdcard/Download/Magisk-24.2.zip
ZIP-file is corrupted.
Use a ZIP-file what contains the missing installer.
