How can I lock a bootloader? - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I did root. Now I neet to remove root and fully lock my bootloader because I'm not satisfied with this phone and I want to return it. Can you help me please? my build is FRD-L09C432B131
Thank you in advance!

1. You posted in the wrong category.
2. If i'm not wrong when you lock the bootloader it will say "Relocked". So they will know you already played with the phone.

You can delete this thread. Sorry about this.
Its enough to flash original recovery and then run update.app

[Q] Backup Bootloader and OS Frome Xoom

So, my understanding is this. If we unlock the bootloader so as to gain root access then the Xoom states to us that we will lose our warranty. That bites, but is expected. But if we decide to re lock the bootloader, it is my understanding that it, being the warranty is still void.
My first question is this. How will motorola know that we had unlocked the bootloader after re locking it? Is there a virtual trip in the system that creates a file that makes the statment that the unit had been unlocked? If so can we figure out where that file is located?
Now I could see a problem in finding the file in question if it does exist. But we would have to have a bootloader that is backed up from a Xoom that has never been unlocked. To compare the files. And that is assuming that that file resides in the the unlocked bootloader and not somewhere els on the system.
So, how can we backup the factory bootloader before unlocking it? Also, how do we make a backup image of the entire factory OS before root access is granted?
The reason I ask is because the steps and the image that is provided by Motorola for the OS may be tainted in some way also, so as to let them know that it is not the real original OEM installed OS.
Also, I have done a search, and came up with noquestions or answers to any of these questions. If the questions and answers are out there. I do apologize for asking again.
I doubt if they can tell the difference once it it relocked. You should replace the boot.img with the locked factory default file as well as the other original images (System) which is only available for the 3G model. Once you root the boot.img is replaced with a modified version which can easily be found out. Owners of the Wifi only Xoom will have to wait.

In what order do I flash/relock to get OTA? Please Help

Hello!
I bought a phone, with unlocked bootloader and root. Z3 D6603
I dont know exactly how the previous owner unlocked BL etc.
But I flashed it to 23.1.A.1.28 lolli, fixed super SU and dualrecovery.
The thing is, I now want to return it to stock, so that i can get OTA updates by Sony Companion, and i have no idea how to do so.
Searched the forums, and found a lot of info, but I dont want to brick or ruin anything.
Do I need to flash stock firmware without root, remove dualrecovery or relock BL, or maybe all of it?
I posted this earlier, and im not sure if I explained it right, I said I wanted a step by step guide.
What I meant was a guideline in what ORDER to do stuff, not how to do them.
Is it enough to relock the bootloader, and then use Sony Companion to update, or do I need to flash something, maybe go back to original recovery first?
Help is sincerely appreciated !
PS: Sorry for posting again, but I dont know how to change the headline/bump the post, and need this done ASAP, or else I wont have a working phone in a few days. ( Change of sim card)

Nothing. If it is unlocked and you dont have backup of original TA partition. There is no help. You can't get you DRM keys back and without them you cant relock to original state. And majority of Sony stock fw simply doesnt provide OTA for unlocked bootloaders, except for the new Sony Concept ROM.
You may try to download Androxyde Flashtool as it provides relock function, however it doesnt restore TA. If it brings OTA back not sure, because I always backup my TA so just try it.

[Completed] [Desire U t327e] couldn't unlock bootloader & stop at hboot

I've no idea how this phone became a brick,
since it's unroot, s-on and the bootloader is locked ,too.
All was modified by my cousin,
and she doesn't know how to fix it.
I've tried to unlock bootloader, but I couldn't agree to unlock it,
every time I tried to choose Yes, the phone didn't reply.
However, if I choose No, it simply reboot to hboot mode.
Because of that, I guess I couldn't flash custom rom.
So, I think the only way to fix it is to find RUU or OTA or stock_rom.img ,
but I couldn't find them.
The only thing I found is the source code from htcdev.com.
link: dl4.htc.com/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/primominiu-ics-3.0.16-40ba5ce.zip
Is there anyone who knows where to find them,
or any other way to fix it? (any system platforms are welcomed)

Will anyone see that the bootloader is relocked?

Hey everyone,
I got my new Honor 8 and as with my previous OnePlus One I just need root.
It's not that complicated to find descriptions how to unlock the bootloader (and loose the warranty), relock it and even get the "locked" status again without (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70177996&postcount=7) and with DC Unlocker (https://www.dc-unlocker.com/how-to-lock-bootloader-from-relocked-to-locked) in case I understood everything right.
But the important qustion of course is if one (for example Huawei) can see that its relocked. So first, what does it say if you get the status over the command prompt? And even if it's "locked" there is there any other way you can see?
I don't expect a warranted answer but maybe someone who is firm with android coding or what ever can at least say what he thinks?
Thanks a lot!
If you relock it with a fastboot command then yeah. But if you use a rollback package to return to emui 4.1, everything gets wiped in a way that makes the bootloader status "locked"
Could please someone at least check the first question with his unlocked phone?
Edit: Didn't see your reply and don't now how to delete mine... Thanks anyway!

As far as i know yeah, unless there is some secret way for them to know it. If you unlock the bootloader with a code and then lock it again it will show the bootloader status as "relocked" in fastboot mode, indicating that the device was tampered with in the past. But the "locked" status you get in the rollback process is the same as on a phone that was never modified. I found this "trick" accidentally when restoring a bricked phone using the rollback package and think it's pretty handy.

Not sure if u'll read this. When I was stuck in the same issue somewhere around July 2017 I was devastated and thought if I were to relock my bootloader how to do so without it saying relocked (If you do it by fastboot it will 100% say so). I tried the rollback method on seeing this and u sure r right. It says LOCKED and looks as though my phone was never tampered with ?.
I came across this thread researching abt something and though I'd thank you!

How to Relock bootloader

Hello all.
I attempted to flash a ROM a while back and failed miserably. All I managed to do in the end was unlock the bootloader. I would like to change this, and set things back to they way they were; locked bootloader.
Is there anyway to achieve this? I would like to be able to use apps like Uber that won't work with an unlocked bootloader.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Hello I think this could help you
https://youtu.be/8OywEYZ2cbw
This is a video about how to rebrand your mate 9
Now it in the steps it says that after you use the options 2 to rebrand it relock your bootloader, I don't know what mate you have but since you probably installed a custom recovery it is why you can't relock with the command, so my suggestion is this download the WHOTA update and also install the the software finder via Google Play. With it look for your specific model and copy the links to download the files for your specific model in your PC, Also do a Backup of your Oeminfo via the TWRP since it will be the only file you won't find, probably (if it happens to be the MHA-L09 C605 send it to me I need it for my phone I made the mistake of not backing up my Oeminfo).
If you download the files and follow the instructions of the video you will be able to relock your bootloader. But watch it 3 times and also download all the files and make sure to back up everything in your PC if something goes wrong.

Thanks guys. I've found a fairly simple solution.
This is the solution that worked for me.
1. Type "fastboot oem relock (your phone's unlock code)" and select unlock or yes with volume buttons & power.
Hopefully this method will help others.
