Im not satisfied with my Windows 10 Mobile. The OS has way too much limitations in every aspect. Availability of wanted Apps, Missing capabilities, such as a runtime Network Speed Meter, or free Server App. No Signal Strength in Numbers. Even Games it lacks.
The Specs between M330 and Z330 are pretty much the same, except OS.
phonearena.com/phones/compare/Acer-Liquid-Z330,Acer-Liquid-M330/phones/9608,9609
I wonder, if I could do a transformation into a Android.
I know, its not the newest phone, but since I cant give it back, maybe I could do better with it.
There are also Fake-Blogs out there, claiming that xda-developers has a "how-to" about flashing the M330 with android like this one: cwm-twrp.tech/2016/06/acer-liquid-m330-7524.html
Just scammers.
I would appreciate any help to this.

Greetings and welcome to assist. Unfortunately there is little information on your device. Flashing a Z330 rom may brick your device but as the specs are so similar it may be possible to port one but it is not something we could do for you

Hi all,
I read through a few sites and the forum to research about my phone and i am looking to make it not so laggy/sluggish.
I am from Australia and is on Telstra network and my HTC Diamond2 is very sluggish and so laggy, it can barely function. Chance upon android articles and reading about rave reviews about how Android performs faster than Windows Mobile 6.5.
I have ZERO computer programming technical abilities. Just a chemist looking to fix her phone. So, this may sounds like requesting baby sitting service, but if anybody is kind enough, please direct me to the builds that are stable with Diamond2.
Google maps, text msging and bluetooth (which at the moment does not work) are very important functions to me, so I am looking for a build that have functions similar to these working well.
thanks so much in advance.
check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509493
there is currently no fully working android build on the TD2 as there are problems with the drivers, android is not a complete replacement for windows mobile tho as you need to boot android from the win mob enviroment, plus as a owner of a android and win mob device i prefer windows over android any day of the week, maybe you should try some system optimisation software like sk tools, pocket mechanic or tweeks 2k2 as they can all improve system stability also try a cooked rom from one of the great TD2 cooks here on xda as alot of them out perform the stock HTC roms
Thank you so much.
Yes, i am just looking to really optimise my phone as I am pretty much stuck with this phone unless I can afford a new handset straight out.
Again, thank you for the link. I have no great computing abilities but I like to DIY. Will definitely look around more.
Thanks so much again.
you're really asking a question that will result in an answer that you just won't like. Its basically not feasible to have android on your phone, and if it ever were to be somewhat available, it would not be stable and it would require significant tinkering and knowledge to have a half-ass working android Diamond2.
your phone is nice...there's definitely a way for you to sell it off locally and purchase an android phone.
Hello everyone, I know this is a long shot but: is anyone interested in porting Android to this excellent eBook Reader?
Device description is here: http://www.bookeen.com/en/cybook/odyssey
It is basically a Nook Touch Simple/Sony PRS T1 like device that features a very fast e-Ink display (amazingly fast for an e-Ink) and should support some tablet like use (browsing the web, reading a RSS feed) quite well. You can see here and here what HSIS (High Speed Ink System) can do.
Stock version is using a Linux 2.6.31 based OS (doesn't specify what flavor)
From the little I know the main problems with porting a Android whould be:
- possible locked bootloader on the Cybook Odyssey -> no way to know without the device
- supported chipset -> an ARM A8 based chipset is listed
- display drivers -> maybe those from regular pearl e-Ink can be used?
- wi-fi drivers -> again, depends on the chipset
I'm out of my league (php, web stuff) here but I plan to buy the device next month if there's hope for it
Ideas?
Hi!
I would point out, before getting your hopes up on the porting, the fact that you asked just one day after the launch of the device, makes one think that you're thoughts are audaciously early. So unless some xda-developers are Bokeen insiders and, ahem, unbound by their job to work on this matter, either waiting or is the thing to do. Or, ahem, , learning how to port?
The chances I see for this port to happen are small (but than again still possible). Perhaps we could see if the linux running it might offer more flexibility and run apps directly (?). Porting would would have it's obvious advantages ... an Android with it's screen technology superior to any current eInk readers, except the Mirasol powered ones perhaps (those are limited to Korea for now) would we awesome.

Is there any news on debugging and or development possibilities on that platform? I have seen the gpl'ed linux source released at bookeen's site.
I have yet not found any pictures of a disassembled device and do not know if customized firmware updates are possible.
Would very much appreciate any news on that topic!

I know that internally some version of android ran on the device, but it's really not worth to do this. Android is absolutely not suited for such device and screen.
To install personalised linux/software, first crack the update format, then the device will be open to you...
Okay so here's the deal, I have not been on this website since the Windows Mobile 5 days, so the new format is a little strange for me, for those of you who remember what the site used to be like.
So no, I am not a noob, just with the new Android operating system, I'm looking to do something very specific, if it can even be done.
Device Information:
ZTE Score x500
Android 2.3.4
400MB Ram
8GB SD Card
So here's what I want to do, I just bought an iPhone, but I only want to use it for work, I don't care too much for the phone itself but for practical business purposes, it's the best thing out right now, so I'm looking to turn the Android Phone into sort of an MP3/Entertainment device on steroids.
I'm looking for a ROM that removes all phone and data functions, retains WIFI and BT, and frees up as much RAM as possible, I haven't done any browsing through the site/threads yet, but figured posting this would be the best place to start.
Like I said, I haven't done anything like this since the good old WM5 days, so any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
MMCCORMICK
Hi
I am new to ANdroid devcies as i only have Apple devices up till now, please bear with me. I just bough a Noza Tec Android table VII on kitkat 4.4.4 quadcore with 1GB RAM, this tablet was cheap and does not behave anything like a quadcore or 1GB RAM, it is very slow when using web browser and zooming in on anything is not smooth and does it in sections. I would like to try installing a custom ROM that would speed things up dramatically, as currently it is really poor.
Can anyone give advise on the best ROM for htis device and also if there is an installation guide as this is the first time i will be trying it and i dont want ot brick the tablet.
Any help appriciated. Thanks in advance

Hi.
I don't see any thread for that brand. That's maybe because is a Chinese device. It would be very very difficult to find a custom rom for this device, almost impossible I would say. I would suggest for you to stick to big names, like Samsung, Asus, etc. There's always a workaround with roms and rooting for these brands. Sorry I couldn't help more.
1) I'm hoping someone can advise pls! I'm a very light user mostly for wsapp and sometimes maps/gps when walking (no gaming and occasionally watch youtube videos) so was hoping to find something £40-£50.

There are others I'm looking at but they don't mention anything about the processor (sometimes it'll mention the number of cores but no name)? The specs seem way better than even xiaomi phones for the same money, I know there's gonna be no support updates etc. how important is that? Couldn't I just search for a custom ROM, try to upgrade to higher android version etc? Would it be difficult/impossible to find roms for an unbranded phone?
Also I've read that there's a possibility they could just be sneaky re-brands so potentially could be getting a xiaomi etc. phone for less?
2) I'm also considering paying a bit more if unbranded is a no-go. Xiaomi Redmi 7 3GB/32GB around £100 vs Xiaomi Mi Play 4GB/64GB if it's £6 more?
I like the extra ram and storage for only £6 more but the battery seems better on R7 and larger screen

I've seen some advertisements (on wish.com or Ali Express) for devices with no apparent name brand that mention having 10 core processors, dual sim, Android 9 and more. These are all MTK devices which pose difficulties if you want to flash a ROM into them to upgrade or change something. RCA tablets are MTK devices and I, along with many others have spent a lot of time just trying to gain access to such devices. It's been done. However, it has been more than difficult as of yet to find any compatible ROMs and these devices are extremely picky when it comes to using other ROMs. For those of us that are currently still working on it, we have yet to find anything compatible. That's not saying they are bad devices, they are actually pretty good I've had mine (the RCA Maven, Viking and Galileo) for years with little problems.

Thanks for the reply. Any MTK processor devices are difficult/unlikey to have custom roms or tweak/upgrade in any way?

Theoretically there should be, but many here would rather work on the newest devices most of which are not MTK (Media Tek). They're not built like Samsungs and if you open one up the whole motherboard is the size of today's phones or roughly one quarter the size of the tablet which could be the reason they're so cheap. The only thing I've been able to flash into mine is the original stock firmware, anything else led to bricking. And recovering from a brick is difficult the SP Flash tool is nothing like the Odin3 we use for Samsungs.

I have also bought uhans u300 and took a look at the Development & Support topic here, there's absolutely no way to upgrade it from Android 6.0?
