Fast wireless charger? - Google Pixel XL Accessories

Searching ebay, going mad, to find a wireless charging pad that is fast.
Like this one:
http://a.co/h0IWao6 (they don't ship here).
Any other "cheap" solutions?

Why? A friend got one similar and it covered the fingerprint sensor... With fast charge wireless no longer required
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

The point was to find one that does not cover the fingerprint sensor (like the one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_urCKGYUsQ (you can see it about four minutes in)).
Would rather have a wireless charger on my desk and night stand, than have to plug in the phone.

Fasttech QI charger A021527514 $35

Ordered 19/2 Arrived 26/2 - 7 days from China / Singapore.
Comes with supplied charger.
Only had it one day.
Takes about twice as long to charge as a normal 2amp pregnant plug.
Looks good
After 2 weeks use
The charger works quite reliably with a TPC case on. The only problem is efficiency. It still takes twice the time to charge, and sometimes excessively long. Last night the phone was at 26% charge, put on mat, went to bed, after 10 hours was only at 76%. A cable charges it from flat in about 2 hours.

Fast Tech
Waiting for mine now, ordered on March 2nd...
AW: Fasttech QI charger A021527514 $35
Bought mine from Fast Tech too:
Charging speed is satisfactory but the battery temperature worries me a little...
The back of the device says:
Input: 5V 2A
Output: 5V 1A
And even apart from that it's pretty obvious, that it takes more time to charge wirelessly.
I'll try keeping the temperature lower by adding some sort of distance piece between charger and phone, maybe even charger and table - the little 'feet' on the charger's back are tiny...
Mine also gets much warmer on it than it does on the orb charger from Google/LG. Seems to charge fine though, I just use this one to top the phone off at work because its not secure or reliable enough to trust charging overnight.
How much did you pay for the original orb charger?
Google Play Hardware isn't available in my country

Like $70US shipped. Worth every penny to me. It secures the device (I have had no slipping with the 3 Orbs in my house) and charges reliably. To place the phone on it where it wouldn't charge would require it to be placed at a very unstable position that is unnatural.
IT sucks they aren't available but it probably has something to do with regulations in your country on these types of devices. Google probably needs some sort of certification first. Id offer to bootleg one to you but by the time its all said and done it would probably be $100US before it got to you.
I don't think it's because of regulations - no Google hardware has ever been available in Austria. It's just a small european country.
I could wait until it's available in Germany - they got all devices so far.
In the meantime I'll keep testing this Fast Tech charger.
The LEDs are enjoyably dim and it works pretty good.
But sometimes when the phone is at 100% already and it receives a message the charger beeps as if the phone has just been placed on it.
I'll keep investigating
Here's two pictures, display at maximum brightness.
ive got one but i cant connect and use it by any other input eg xbox 360 usb or a standard usb socket only uses adapter included ,I've sent 5 email saying this but they don't understand they keep saying check the charger supplied but that's not the problem,it will not work with any other usb powered input
Sent from my KFOT using xda app-developers app
I also tried using it with another adaptor (5V 1A) - whenever I placed the phone on the charger the right LED that flashes blue when charging turned red and the phone emitted a notification sound.
Using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2's adaptor (5V 2A) works - but only if the phone is placed directly onto the charger - using the adaptor that was shipped with the carger it also works if there's a gap of ~2mm.
Here's another picture of the charger, this time in a well-lit office.
good news and bad news ,good news is they have admitted its doest work on my usb charger or any other one apart ftom a pc or original charger and bad news is there still advertising it as powered from any usb port anywhere

Well, after a few weeks my resumeé is: It works - but only kind of...
- It emits lots of heat. It seems to stop charging at 40°C (red fault LED visible). Definitely not the best way to treat your battery.
- It's unreliable. Sometimes it doesn't start charging, sometimes it stops prematurely.
- It beeps.
So if you just want to use it in your office to keep your phone charged with short and sporadic usage periodes in between it should work, if you and your colleagues can stand the beeping each time you place your phone on the charger.
If you plan to use it as overnight charger or when the battery is rather dry, prepare to face disappointment.
But I guess that's all you can expect from a charger half the price of the original one.
Now I've got a new qi charger air box gonna set it up tonite box looks okay and theyvre even sent UK plug adapter looks good fast tech didn't Send one as far as I could tell they really was not bothered with my problems with there charger if you don't like it post it ,if its faulty its at your expense . fingers crossed with the air box one

Qi Wireless Charging Kit turns on and off repeatedly

I bought a generic Qi wireless charging kit. It has a white receiver which you open up the back cover of the galaxy s4 and then fit the prongs in place. Then closed the back cover and put it on my charger pad. The charger pad is powered by my OEM Samsung 2A output adapter so that should be plenty of power. There are two lights, one red that is constantly on which I assume is the power light. The other light is green, but it flashes. I'm not sure if it is supposed to do this, but pretty sure it is not as my phone will display a popup notification that wireless charging is enabled. One second later, the popup is gone and the battery icon no longer shows the thunderbolt charging symbol. Another second later, the notification comes back and the battery icon shows the thunderbolt charging symbol. So both the charger pad flashes and my phone's notification and battery charger icon appear and disappear every few seconds repeatedly, anyone know what is going on?
Kind of hard to tell without seeing which one you specifically have. Got any links? Have you made a good connection with the contacts on the back of the phone? And are you placing the phone in a good spot on the charger? I have 2 qi receivers like yours and I don't have these problems unless I'm using the official nexus wireless charger. I think the magnets in it do something to offset it. I have another wireless charging pad and I don't have these problems at all.

I actually do have the link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/181216698737...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I made sure to buy the GS4 i9500 and almost certain this is a right purchase as the prongs fit perfectly. Based on the instructions, the actual charger is under the symbol/icon, which I have tried to place perfectly. Heck, I tried so many spots with no success. I'm not sure if the receiver is faulty or if the charge pad is faulty. I'm looking into a ChoeTech and Incipio Qi charger right now as its around 30 bucks and have quite some positive reviews.
Well that thing is one of the thicker ones. And I've never liked the design of it. I'd definitely switch receivers. Then chargers if you problem still occurs.
1. check to make sure the contacts on the receiver are not getting disconnected inside the phone.
2. you need to find the sweet spot on your pad when you put your phone on it
Well, I'm in the process of getting a refund on eBay. Guess I'll have to go for a more branded charger instead of some no-name generic.

Wireless charger - which one?

Hi,
So, I'm one of the 'few' users which the USB connector on my nexus became loose to the point where doesn't charge anymore. One of the connectors inside broke (shorter then the others), I tried to fix another connector (successfully) but I can't do much about the broken one.
With this I'm left with 3 alternatives.
Send to RMA, logical, but would take at least two months since I'd have to send it to UK (was bought there) and I don't wanna be that long without it.
Order a USB connector and mount it myself. I'm actually considering this... But moving on...
Order a wireless charger, this seems the most fast option to get it charging. Now choosing this option leaves me with some questions. Considering that the official wireless charger is way more expensive than those QI ones, I checked the specifications and seems like the mA/output between QI chargers and official wireless is the same, so, do they take the same amount of time charging? Will I have any issues with another brand (considering it should work on nexus) ? Any big pratical differences between official / other brands if the technical specifications are the same?
Someone care to shed a light on this matter?
Thank you so much in advance

I use a choetech qi charger. It works perfectly. Charging time is a little longer, but it works awesome
sent from my Paranoid HAMMERHEAD
Since charge faster than others. Some get hot, ie the tylt. I use the Nokia dt900 chargers. They are cheap, charge fast, don't get hot, and just work great.
Well if the USB connecter doesn't work you really should get it replaced, not just work around it by getting a Qi Wireless Charger.
How will you ever use fastboot and adb?
Anyways, it doesn't matter what charger you get and the price tag attached to it, as long as they adhere to the standards they should all charge at the same speed and should last the same amount of time. Better to get a cheaper one and save a few bucks.
Check out the RAVPower wireless chargers. Have one of the round-shaped models, works perfectly with Nexus 5.

Wireless charging by way of USB Type-C receiver

Hey everyone. I know I'm late but I just recently got my new Nexus 6P and have been looking for accessories. I know previous Nexus devices have had wireless charging and wondered if this was possible for the 6P. I came across this on Amazon and wondered if anyone else has tried it or something similar.
Type-C Wireless Receiver, DISDIM Type C Qi Wireless Charger Receiver for LG G5, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nokia N1,Huawei P9 and More (Black)
I've used something similar, and it works fine, but it's annoying not having the usb port available.
I was thinking of leaving a little slack on the cord which could hopefully allow the USB type c connector to hang a little if I wanted to plug in. Anyway, how was your usage and charging like?
I have one and it's great. Never had an issue with it. It can be annoying to not have access to the port but pros and cons.

Charges very slow on mine. Hoping maybe a higher output charger can speed it up but not holding my breath

What charging pad are you using to actually get good results? I plugged mine in at night and it says 6 hours till fully charged. When I wake up it still says 6 hours till fully charged

I bought one from amazon and got the belkin qi chargers and both charge at a normal rate. Not fast charge by any means but it's normal charge for sure. I can go from 10% to full in the 6 hours I sleep overnight so. Just don't cheap out in the qi charger and you will be fine.
Edit. Got my tilt one from wish/geek.com

Isn't it possible to design a QI Wireless Charger Receiver that has a a pass-through USB-C input ? So you can charge it wireless, but also plug it in whenever necessary without unplugging the wireless charger adapter ?
THere's a market for that !:silly:

By the time some engineered that. And created it they will have done wireless charging in metal phones and there will be no need for it.

Thanks. I'm fully aware of that. But I know they are working on it and are close to solving the issue.
I've seen press releases of them working on it (wireless charging working on a aluminum cased phone)

Works fine but like all wireless charging, you have to be aware that it's slow. So slow that if you're navigating or streaming, it won't be able to keep up (which is why Google didn't include it on this phone, IMHO). It's annoying to have to unplug it every time I need a fast charge, so I hope someone builds that pass-through solution.

Google didn't include because they haven't figured out how to get wireless charging to work with aluminum phones yet. It's in the works

Wireless Car Chargers/Mount?

I previously had a magnet attachment on my Google 6p case that attached to a vent mounted magnet. Now I need a completely different charger and I'm a bit lost. I looked at the iOttie charger on Amazon but I'd like some feedback before I jump in and order it.
I just got that iOttie, it works. Little fidgety on placement (I have a kickstand case). Also, will keep a slow charge.
Update. I gave up on it, even with no case you need to be a sniper to find the charging point. Without a case on, the metal tab for magentic mount won't stick to the p4 glass back
I have this one. Love it. It's fallen off twice in the last two years. Just have to clean the adhesive cup and where it goes and no problem.

Thank you but this doesn't appear to have wireless charging.
I have been using this for most of the past year on my Note 8.
https://www.scosche.com/magicmounttm-pro-charge
Has been able to keep up with running Nav and Spotify over bluetooth during daylight with screen on without issue. Sadly, Nav and the Uber or Lyft driver app during the day drop the charging to just holding it's own, thise apps are really power hungry it seems.
Never had an issue with the phone falling off other than SEVERE train tracks once.
I will update this once I get a chance to try it with my new Pixel, hopefully my case will be in tomorrow.
I've thought about going the wireless charging route but AA only weekend when plugged in.

I have been using Iotti Wireless Charger for a long time and never had any issues with it. I do use a case, but honestly, my case is somewhat minimal. (Ringke Crystal Fusion) it offers great protection, but doesn't get in the way of the wireless charger at all.
for what it's worth, I have tried other Wireless Charging Car Phone Holders - and honestly I hate the ones that have the electronic opening and closing to hold the phone. It's kind of cool - but totally impractical. The Ignition has to be on in order to open or close it - = just accidentally brush it and the phone falls out of the holder - I thought I would like it - ordered and then quickly returned for a refund because it just wasn't as reliable as the IOTTI I use.
The iOttie Easy One Touch model HLCRIO143 is their only model compatible with Pixel fast charging (same one the Google store sells). It works just as fast as the Google standing charger and even has "Made for Pixel" on the box. My only issue is it makes my phone overheat by about 10 degrees more than the plug in fast charger. My three Pixel stands stay cool. When it overheats the phone will either not charge or charge very slowly at most. It's going back to Best Buy and I'll continue searching for another one.

Just putting it out there but if you're using GPS and music while driving and charging, that might be the reason it's getting hotter compared to with the Pixel Stand. For me in the Florida sun and heat, I use a CD slot mount and point one of the AC vents at my wired charging phone.
Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk
I can confirm this charges rapidly (13.2w). Heat is not an issue for me.

I bought this one and it works great. According to ampere it's charging faster than my Pixel stand. It's also USB type C.
Edit: you will need a suitable power adapter to get the full benefit. I had a QC 3.0 car adapter lying around.

I use magnet mount. took a couple weeks to get it, but I love it. fast charging, never falls off. https://themagnetmount.com/collections/products/products/wireless-charging-mount
I bought this one first
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SCLNV9B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Typically drops to 20-25 on sale plus sometimes there will be a 3 dollar off coupon.
I paired it with my QC car charger and it consistently stays at 13.2 W of charging according to inware. It got hot and stopped charging the phone but I believe it's because i didn't have it aligned properly. The phone rest setting for 6.3" screen is not right for the pixel 4 XL. I had to bring it up but now it's aligned and not overheating. It charges fast.
The 2nd one i got for the wife's car is this one.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QNL3814/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
no matter what QC charger i use with it it only stays at 8.4 to 10w for charging and it's definitely not as fast as the one above but does charge the phone while i have gps running. I got it on sale for 15 bucks. There was a clip for 10 dollar off coupon at the time of purchase.
I may wait for the first one to go on sale again to replace my 2nd one and then regift the 2nd one to someone who has an iphone since it charges those phones quicker than my pixel.

I bought this, and my pixel 4 xl shows only 8.4 W with inware. I did use QC 3 charger. But still overall nice charger, has build in small battery, so can be opened/closed with car off. Which helps in not getting phone stuck once you turn off the car.

I'm using an Anker qc car charger if that helps and see 13.2 in the inware app. I'll try and get a picture of the car charger when I get a chance. It charges really fast. So much that at times I try my too use the charger all the time as sometimes on a drive home from work it'll go from 65% to 93%. I'm afraid it will wear down my battery. Luckily my car has a spot that I can just rest my phone. It covers up the display but not like I use the in car nav anymore.
