Insufficent right notifications can't be blocked, why? - Android General

On an Oneplus 2, using OxygenOS, I revoke all data sensitive rights from the "Google Play services" and "Google App" apps for privacy. It seems most Google apps don't rely strongly in these background services. Google Maps for example is still working fine, given the right to use Location itself.
Now there is a notification every some hours, that the service app will not work well without those rights and user experience will suffer.
So I also revoke both service apps of notifications (by checking Settings -> Apps -> App info -> Notifications -> Block all).
However, the notifications still occur.
-How can those apps circumvent the notification block?
-Maybe the notification is issued by the system on insufficent rights, and not the application itself?
-How can I find out how to block those annoying notifications?
-Maybe those apps abuse another service app to place their notification, if so how can I find this linkage?

Compendium of all sneaky background reporting settings on Galaxy S7

Gents and ladies,
Tmobile SD820 S7 flat user here, and like everyone else, have the high android system battery drain issue I have been trying to hunt down. Till samsung and tmo release a fix, I thought it would be beneficial to create an exhaustive list of all the phone settings where sneaky reporting and syncing is going on. The more I look, the more I find these backdoors in android and starting to get very irritated with the whole android ecosystem. An average user should not have to mess with their phone this extensively to get it to perform adequately. Maybe there is something to what the apple nazis say about an ecosystem where they control high quality. Marshmellow was supposed to come with better battery life (as they promised with Lollipop as well).
Anyway, enough ranting. Here is my list, please feel free to add more and I will update the OP.
Google activity controls - Google now page, settings at the top, then Google account settings, then accounts and privacy, then google activity controls. Turn off location history and other activity controls that you find you don't need.
Diagnostics reporting to Google - Google now page, settings at the top, then Accounts and privacy, turn off "help improve google"
Diagnostics reporting to Samsung - Samsung settings - personal - privacy and safety - Report diagnostic info - Off
Turn off anonymous reporting in Language and input - Settings - language and input - text to speech, google text to speech settings, then settings and turn off anonymous reporting
Turn off other security reports - Settings - lock screen & security - other security - security reports
Turn off access to hardware by different apps - Settings - privacy and safety - app permissions. e.g., Why on earth does google keep need body sensor access?!
Turn off unwanted syncing - Go to settings - accounts and check every account including Samsung, Whatsapp etc. and turn off syncing.
Turn off Contacts searching for nearby places and invoking location - Settings - applications - contacts and turn off "search for nearby places"
Turn off background data usage for unwanted apps - Settings - data usage - go through every app that you don't want background data usage for, and turn off
Turn off unwanted notifications - settings - applications - notifications
Turn off pop-up notifications for applications - settings - notifications - advanced settings - disable pop-up
Turn off push notifications for messages app - settings - applications - messages - turn off push. This does not impact receiving SMS/MMS.
Turn off OK Google detection from everywhere except home screen. Google now page, settings at the top, then voice then "OK google detection"
Other tips I have tried but I am not sure have helped:
Disable google now on tap.
Optimize battery usage for as many apps as you desire.
Disable wifi scanning and nearby device scanning - settings - location - improve accuracy and turn off wifi and bluetooth scanning
Enabled wifi smart network switch
WiFi calling turned off
VOLTE turned off
I cannot live without / do not want to compromise on (so will optimize battery despite the following always on):
Google now with high accuracy location mode
AOD
VOLTE
BT always on
Screen brightness set to 75%
WiFi calling set to on

How to disable distractive apps for specific period of time?

I am looking for a way I can disable selected distractive apps during particular time of the day but still want to receive calls, sms or messages from particular selected apps.
In my old rooted phone I have used AFwall+ for that reason so selected apps can't access Internet connection. Since I haven't rooted my new phone and not planing of doing that atm so I cant use AFwall+.
Also I can't just turn off phone Internet connection because I need some selected apps stay connected.
So lets say I want to have such setup:
Viber - disable
SMS - enable
Skype - disable
FB - disable
FB messanger - enable
Gmail - disable
Calls - enable
disable means I do not want this app to access Internet and distract me with any sort of UI notifications
enable means I want the app working and deliver notifications for me as normal
Any thoughts ?
First, I think you mean distracting, not destructive.
Greenify can block the apps, but not only during certain times of the day.

It is interesting app that disabling notifications but Android still showing the rounded notifications badges over icons. Is there a way to getting rid of these badges too?
UPDATE 1:
I just was following this article that https://www.h3xed.com/mobile/how-to-remove-icon-badge-notifications-on-android-samsung-touchwiz but button 'disable' is not active so I cant disable the 'BadgeProvider'
UPDATE 2:
Then I followed this one http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...e-disable-app-icon-badge-counter-s7-edge.html and by using 'Package Disabler Pro' the 'BadgeProvider' was being successfully disabled.
So basically in order to stop notifications on non rooted S7 we need to apps
1) Greenify
2) Package Disabler Pro
I have yahoo mail, which sends its fake news. that I don't read. I want to dump the fake news .

Barclay's Mobile Contactless Permanent notification

In the most recent update of Barclay's Mobile Banking app they have added their own-brand contactless payment but it forces a permanent notification. This basically makes it totally unusable as that combined with listening to music means you can't get any notifications on your lock screen. Any ideas to work around or solve?
I'm afraid the solution is to ditch barclays for lloyds or nationwide. You're lucky to even have that notification; The version of the app on my phone says 1.33 but I still didn't get the "contactless mobile" option within the app's menu nor the permanent notification.
block barclays notifications
I block all Barclays notifications to get rid of it because it is taking up valuable notification space. You can still use Barclays contactless but you obviously don't get informed if you need to log back in before using it.
Go to android settings > sound and notification > notifications > Barclays > Block all [on]

App and privacy issues

Hello all,
I've got a newspaper app installed and I did the following in terms of permissions:
- Application data usage - Disabled "Allow background data usage"
- Battery - Disabled "Allow background activity"
- Battery - Enabled "Optimise battery usage"
The still sends me news notifications. Not a lot but enough to concern me that despite my restricting its background activities, the app is still able to check for news and send me notifications. I know I can disable the app notifications but that just means that I won't see them. It doesn't mean that the app will not be able to run in the background and continue to access the internet despite my explicit restrictions.
Am I misunderstanding something here? Please advise.

When did the app send you notifications? Just when you open it, or after you had cleared it from memory?
I open it to read the papers in the morning. Then I close the app and swipe it out from the recent apps menu

"Check Access Settings" / Accessibility Usage Notifications

Android 12 has added additional privacy reminders/safeguards which I respect highly.
However, I utilize a third party password generator and manager. This manager has autofill process that requires accessibility access. This triggers a notification ~2 per week reminding me that I have given up some privacy:

These cannot be turned off, I understand why. But as an "advanced" user is there any way to manually disable these or whitelist Bitwarden from these.
Whether using ADB or some other method.
Did you find a way to get rid of those notifications?
I'm interested in getting rid of this too.
I use Greenify and the warning pops up every couple of days.
There's no "forever" option on snoozing the notification.
Anyone? I get them too, for Bitdefender. Very annoying
Use an app called AutoNotification
