Out of nowhere, I started getting a pop-up whenever I unplug from power telling me the percentage of battery. Any idea how to turn this off? See screenshot below. I'm running the EMUI beta...

turn the notifications or turn off the battery percentage ??
It is because you turned on an accessibility setting under advanced options. It took me forever to figure it out. I read it somewhere on the forums here.

Okay, sometime last night my phone vibrated & made a sound that woke up my wife. She asked this morning what it was but I can't for the life of me figure out what happened. Is there an Event Log app I can download to see if something happened in the middle of the night? She says it sounded like an incoming text but I had none when I woke up. Any ideas?

Was you phone charging? Mine once it hits 100% it beeps and wakes me up sometimes.
he's right fully charged notification. I believe you can shut it off, but I can't find it in the settings. This has woke me up several times.
Sometimes I wish I could wake up as easily to as quiet and very short noise as some of the people that post on here! Then again, I'd probably never fall alseep in NYC.

It can't be shut off without framework changes, but it follows your notification volume.
The event log that your phone keeps is accessed by using logcat.
Code:
adb logcat -d > logcat.txt
There was a dialer code that brought up the option to disable it but I am unsure if it works. It's the same code to disable the lock screen and power off options menu, try searching for that. You could also try using root uninstall to remove or freeze the full battery popup apk (FullBatPopupApp). I have not, however, tried that and can't be held responsible if your phone explodes.

I believe the dialer code for the lock screen will disable the full battery notification. I used the code a few weeks ago to disable to lock screen and I haven't had the notification since. Unless someone beats me to it I will try and find it for you in a bit.

The ongoing notification requires root. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1770622
Or you can root to the Synergy Rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792499
The notification deletion is imbedded in the Rom. After flashing it, reboot once and it's gone for good

If you're on Verizon, it's impossible to miss. It's in your notification bar when you drag it down each time and reads "Wi-Fi off: turn on Wi-Fi"

Oddly enough, some report that they have neither the ongoing notification nor the annoying pop-up when wifi is off on a fully stock device. The vast majority have it but I've seen a couple saying they don't have either.

PROBLEM SOLVED!! (kinda.)
you can pull down the notification bar and long-press the "Tap to turn wifi on" ongoing notification and then click app info. from this point, the process will come up titled 'Android System'. (this is not what runs your phone, its just titled this) if you force stop this process, the notification will go away until the next time you boot up your phone! -i know its not permanent but it sure beats the hell out of it always being up there!!
THE MAIN BENEFIT OF THIS FOR ME (AND FOR ANY OTHERS WITH 4.1) WHEN YOU GET A MESSAGE OR EMAIL, IF ITS THE TOP NOTIFICATION IN THE LIST, IT SHOWS ADDITIONAL DETAILS. CHECK IT OUT IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
Today I noticed a weird issue: when I'm on WiFi, notifications from Whatsapp arrive with a bit of delay that can vary from 10 seconds to 2 minutes. When I'm on 3g/4g it's all good. I tried Push Notification Fix but it seems the correct time was already set (5 minutes). Unchecking "optimize wifi" made the notification quicker, but not immediate as on 3g.
Does it happen to some of you, too? And do you know a fix?
EDIT: Gmail and Inbox are delayed too :/
No one?
I have a similar issue. I get no notifications on WiFi. Its not until I disconnect and then go to lte that all my notifications come in. Not sure what's wrong

Thanks for the tip, ill check it out.
I'm having the same issue despite of trying the above fix. I've noticed that it happens when the phone is in deep sleep. Also, the notification led never lights up in this case which is even more annoying. The late messages fix which is basically the heartbeat fix from whatsapp is also not working. Any ideas anyone?
I'm having problems with notifications just disappearing by themselves. I've tried loads of things but I'm still losing them.
Any ideas very much appreciated as this is driving me crazy.

Huaweis power saving is pretty aggressive. Make sure Power Saving/Ultra mode is not turned on. Also make sure you don't have any apps in "Close after screen lock" enabled. Both are under Settings - Battery.
I know some people are having problems with apps not showing notifications etc.
Also, what model/build are you on?

Thanks for your suggestions.
My mate 9 is an MHA-L09 with build B156.
I've checked by power save settings and I'm not in any power save mode but have set that all apps should stay open after the screen is locked.
I'll see if that helps things but it takes some time to properly check these things...fingers crossed.
Thanks,
John

If you can/want you should probably update to the newest version.
Depending on your full build number (MHA-L09CxxxB156) you probably are a few versions behind.
Check this guide if you want to https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108
The "Stability" fixes released each update might fix stuff that's broken xD
You will need to temporarily unlock your bootloader for this, but it will lock again when you're finished.

I'm seeing how things go now I have B182 from OTA but thanks for the suggestions.
So I've noticed since upgrading to Pie, when using the quick toggle switches, the wrong item is displayed at the bottom of the screen. If I was to click the wifi toggle, it will say mobile data enabled at the bottom of the screen. If I was to click the wifi toggle off, it says wifi enabled at the bottom. I'm 110% stock (Verizon version ?) thoughts?

Gotta be an app you have installed. I just reset to most recent stock 9 a few days ago and don't even get toast notifications when using the quick settings.

I can't figure it out for the life of me. I think you are on your way something tho, either an app or a setting. None of the other toggles show a toast notification. Don't wanna factory reset, might just have to tho
Mine keeps enabling "Night Mode" to "Always on" all by itself. I set it to "Always off" and it turns itself back on again after just a few minutes.
Weird stuff going on.
I may just start going through system apps and clearing cache and see what happens.

That I believe is because you have night mode turned on in the messages app, or any other Google app that has a dark mode setting. The night mode setting in developer options I've noticed, doesn't really matter. When I use Android auto, it switches between day and night on its own. Now if I pick up my device and use it while it is still plugged into my car, and I open messages which I have dark mode enabled, it will switch Android auto to dark. And I would have to unplug the USB and plug it back in. Hope that helps

You're absolutely right. The night mode setting for the notification pull down follows the setting in the Messages app ... which I had turned on.
Thanks! That was driving me nuts.
