notifications issue - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

For some reason my Google allo and Facebook messenger notifications don't always update when the device is asleep and on mobile data. I've tried turning off battery optimization and the issue still persists

[Q] Lollipop Notifications

I still can't get Priority App notifications to work properly. For example on the App Notifications setting for Yahoo Messenger I have Block turned off & Priority turned off. But when the phone is set to Priority my phone still sounds with Yahoo notifications. What am I doing wrong ?
Edit ever stranger they seem to need a reboot every time to work
Probably bad app design. The same as in WhatsApp. Those apps were always a PITA also with quiet hours feature in custom ROMs even before lollipop.

[Battery life] Which applications are polling ?

I've notice on most my android devices that if you set mobile data and wifi to off, the battery usage decreases dramatically !!
Especially when you're not using your phone (screen off).
I deduced that the main battery drainage comes from applications which poll the network frequently. Is there a way, on a non-rooted phone, to know which applications are doing that ?
I've tried installing Doze (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yirgalab.dzzz) but it doesn't seem to have much effect.
Also is there a way to tune polling frequency if it's not in the app settings ? Probably not but I ask just in case because I don't really care if I've got a facebook notification one hour later ...
I ended up uninstaling facebook (replaced by metal where you can tune the polling rate), fb messenger, whatsapp, skype and hangouts, and now it works like it should. But I'm kind of cutoff from the world now which isn't very good for a "communication device"
If you guys know any replacements for those apps, I'd be grateful.
I also tried to create a task for tasker to switch off wifi and mobile data when screen is off but with no success

WhatsApp not pushing notification sometimes

Hi few apps like WhatsApp and Gmail is not pushing notification sometimes during day time.
Is this due to enabling of deep optimization option?
And disabling this cause battery to drain faster?
Thoughts please.
I've been having the same but with Facebook messenger lite. Have switched off the battery optimization and cleared the cache etc.
Sometimes my battery widget on my desktop does not show the true level.
Not an answer for you but your not alone.
even i have set "dont optimize battery " for Whatsapp, still it seems not to push notifications correctly.
any other better solution?
do i have to disable the deep optimization?
That's a issue of Oneplus for years.. This is one of the reasons I ended up with this brand.
Try Push Notification Fixer from the app store.

Delayed notification for Whatsapp, Signal, G Voice

This post was originally posted in Moto G5s Plus forum, but I thought/hope to get broader exposure and feedbacks:
I did extensive search and found no fix so far.
Problem: if my phone is locked for maybe 10min, then it will not display notification for incoming Signal, Whatsapp and Google Voice messages, until I unlock the screen and run the apps. In other words, I will not get notified of new messages if the phone is locked for over 10 minutes.
Native Messenger app is not affected, it displays incoming message right away. Gmail is good too.
I do not use Wifi, it is turned OFF. I am on Data 100% with T-Mobile. Stock ROM, rooted with Magisk and TWRP.
I have done "Battery Not Optimized", "unrestricted data", Battery saving mode is set Never, and there is no battery saving apps installed such as Greenify etc.
I have removed and reinstalled these apps from Play store, cleared data and cache, the whole 9 yards.
Still stuck with delayed notification.
Anyone with suggestions?
Thanks,

It's probably caused by a wakelock that triggers after the screen is off for a set amount of time. Or maybe your device has a deep sleep mode that is triggered after a certain time with screen off.
Use Wakelock detector to identify the wakelocks on your device, then research the wakelocks that you find to see if any of them might be the cause of this issue. If you find a wakelock that is causing this, try using an app that can manage wakelocks to enable/disable the wakelock(s) as needed in order to get it working the way you want/need.

Question Unable to turn on Google wallet notifications on Pixel 7 Pro

I don't get notifications of payments(from the cards that are added to the wallet). I noticed that the notifications are turned off for this app so then I turned them on, nothing happened. I noticed that I can't even turn on the notifications. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times but still no use.
