Hello,
MTCD_MX_V1.70_1 root or not root please ?
Thx
I install root checker.. Me car multimedia not root
You have solution root please ?
Flash a custom rooted rom, then you have root.
I have flashed "[ROM][RK3188][HD] Malaysk ROMs for any yet known MTCD-Device" Version 9
or flash "[ROM][RK3188][MTCD] da-anton ROM [beta3]" is like more orginal.

When you have your rom file, you can.
When not, you must show in "[ROM] Factory firmware for RK3188 MTCD" and you find newer rom for your MTCD_MX Device.

I know someone has already mentioned it, but if anyone could post a copy of the 1.017.00_PA_CUS1 image, allowing the return to stock for the US model... that would be awesome!
Thanks!!!
since now there is a working CWM available, it shouldn't take too long for someone to upload a clean backup of a stock (either US / DE / FR).
I'm on the 23_DE. Is it possible to rip the ROM with fastboot? I also would want to backup the rom, as i want to keep my warranty :-D I never used CWM (always had some other recovery on my devices). If some one would tell me its possible to dump the ROM from CWM i could do this.

Yes, if someone can backup and provide the stock 1.017.00_PA_CUS1 ROM that would be great.
I'd possibly be willing to donate to their PayPal account....
We can add Acer_AV043_A701_1.015.00_WW_GEN1 to the list.
Will post a CWM System Restore later if anybody's interested.

Im doing another one now after getting full system R/W. Zero-null posted a flashable zip 30 minutes ago, and it works!!!!
Will probably restore my original, run the root, then package it up. Actually, is about time to start working on a rom for this beast!
MD
ok it might be hysterical, but my eeepad tf101 died within 2 weeks and luckily it died completely so nobody could recover i had rooted it. but i dont want to risk that with a device worth twice the money.
It should be possible to lock the bootloader again after installing cwm by flashing the 028 update.zip, ithink thats a fact. when i reflash my previously backuped stock rom from cwm without rebooting and reactivating the install_recovery script before rebooting, it should be possible to reboot to a rooted stock rom with stock recovery and locked bootloader, correct me if im wrong.
think i might try this tomorrow.

You can root / unroot your device without flashing bootloader . Check thread about Android Development for 7"
So nothing new ?
I'm also interesting to make a backup of my tablet before flashing rom.
Im looking for the DBT Firmware or how to create a rom backup too.
Is it possible to flash a firmware from another country and change the language (maybe the BTU Firmware = United Kingdom)?
So its not the DBT Firmware but it is stock.
Another idee i've searched for is to extract the Firmware from Kies.
I've found something but i can't post the URL, because I'm a new user
Google for "extract firmware kies", it's the first entry.
Unfortunately we have to wait for the update to 4.0.4 to get the firmware.

Flash stock rom only from odin or heimdall and you will have no root and stock factory state and counter will not increase as counter not increase with stock firmwares
But try to use triangle away app before all that to reset counter to zero

I've been looking around, but I can't find anything to suggest root is available on the stock kernel. Does anyone know if there is? CF-Autoroot doesn't work for 6.0, and so far all I've found is root for custom kernels but I want all stock.
try this

Thanks for the link, I already looked there and they said "This is a stock kernel which provides root access along with some tweaks". It has tweaks in it, so to me that's modified which isn't stock IMO. Sorry I'm just a fussy person, I've tried custom ROMs and the rest before, but they tend to just screw stuff up for me, even the highly favorable CyanogenMod ROMs, they used to make my phone a furnace at idle! So I like the clean (almost) bug-free, vanilla stock experience on my daily driver device.

You could try Chainfire's modded boot image alone (i.e. without another custom kernel).
Perhaps it more "stock" than others. I just followed his instructions (flashed the boot.img and flashed the beta SuperSU zip in TWRP) and I appear to have root on stock Marshmallow.

I'd say, just flash the boot.img from the factory image.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If you rooted before, you'll lose root...

Hello everyone,
I've been using CyanPop (Marshmallow 6.0) for the last week, and while it's an awesome ROM with no major flaws whatsoever I'd like to downgrade to Lollipop.
Is there some guide on how to do it? I've searched here, on Google and on Reddit but all the results are about downgrading from Lollipop to KitKat, and I don't know if it's safe to do the same things.
Thanks in advance!
I did it yesterday ,wiped everything using twrp copied 5.1 ROM using PC and installed it
Is it that easy? I was expecting something like that guide in the General forum where you need some Windows tools and so.
Well, I won't complain. Thanks!
Downgrading is only a concern when you downgrade stock firmware, not a custom ROM.
With custom ROM's you simply factory reset in recovery and flash the ROM.

for stock, search threat. there's a flashable untouched stock from lost101. download and flash through recovery.
and for custom 5.1.1 (cm/aosp/aospa) follow same way. just download zip and flash.
do u have recovery twrp/cwm installed?
I have twrp installed .
