ASUS Padfone variants & KitKat update

Asus' strange ways:
Press release dated 2013/11/22:
"ASUS is pleased to announce a major Android software update for ASUS PadFone Infinity (Asia & Russia) / ASUS PadFone A80 (Europe) to version 4.4 KitKat, in the 1st quarter of 2014.
Customers who purchased the new ASUS PadFone Infinity (Asia & Russia) / New PadFone A86 (Europe) will receive this update in the 2nd quarter of 2014"
It seems all padfone variants except the Padfone 2 get an update to KitKat.....

That is decided by Asus and no one but Asus can answer that.

Will TB-J716F Lenovo pad pro 2021 receive Android 12 update? I just got one and couldn't find any official lenovo site that has any info.

Hard to say as you're reliant on the Chinese region developers. There is no commitment from them to update to two versions like the global tablets.

Yeah, I looked all over, asked giztop,and looked at the Lenovo update matrix and j716f wasn't listed at all.

Updates are NEVER something you want, especially on a device with potential widevine and playstore issues

Question Would it be possible to port the global ROM from P12 Pro to Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 TB-J716F

I was just wondering if it would be possible to port the global firmware from the P12 Pro to the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 11.5"? Since the devices share the same Snap 870 processor and there's a similar 128/6 config available

100% possible but there doesn't seem to be a particularly large community on here with development experience.
The chinese image is also not being shared by Lenovo and I presume we'd need this.

Anyone know when kernel sources will drop?

AFAIK, the only lenovo device with a SD 870 that's similar with source provided is the Yoga Tab 13. It's listed on Lenovo's support page. It's not near as close as the 12 is, though.

do you have a "real" P11Pro or a Xiaoxin Pad Pro?
Because the Xiaoxin has a region lock which gets relevant on Android 11.
