i have a rooted moto g 3rd gen (with twrp recovery)
phone specs: 2gb ram,16 gb internal storage,android 6.0.1 model XT1550
So till yesterday my phone was working fine until i took a few videos and suddenly the phone gave a notification saying my sd card is corrupted and needs formatting i always kept it as portable device . I took out the card and inserted it on my friends cell (same moto g3) and it was working fine... after that i inserted the memory card using a card reader and an otg and still showed it is corrupted. i inserted a new sd card and it showed that is corrupted too... i tried doing a factory reset and clearing the cache n dalvik from the twrp recovery but it gave an error saying "UNABLE TO MOUNT STORAGE" when the memory card was inserted .... i did the same without the sd card and it worked.. but again when i insert any card or otg card/pen drive it shows it as corrupted and suggest to format it..even after formatting it does not solve the issue formatting stops at 20% and says can not format..
PS: )There is no fault in the sd card it works fine with ALL other devices n my laptop the problem is with my phone only....
also am posting it in a new thread because i didn't find any relevant answers....

Hi guys,
My phones micro-sd card has been acting strange and was not being recognized at times by my phone. I then proceeded to put it in its SD card adapter and put it in my Mac and got an error saying the card was unreadable. I then put it in a reader on my PC and everytime I try to access the drive it gives me the 2 errors, "You need to format the drive...etc" and after clicking cancel it says that my drive is an unrecognized file format.
Recuva says it can't read the boot sector and running chkdsk gives me the message that the file format is RAW.
Just tried running ReclaiMe file recovery and it says the card is only 30.6MB while it is actually a 32GB card.
Do you guys think there is any hope? Or should I just move on?
Any help would appreciated. Got a lot of pictures and music I would love to save on the drive, plus ROM backups.

I've killed an SD card before.. not sure how.. it had been partitioned EXT3 for a rom on a desire.. then re-formatted to normal..
but the problem came months after without notice one day the camera was failing and the gallery wouldn't open..
I tried a new SD card and things were fine so I figured the SD card died
Try to use MiniTool Partition Wizard on your pc, and delete ext partition and swap stay only on fat32. if that does not work format your card to exfat. If that doesn`t work try use program "winhex"(before i used it, my computer hadnt read my card). I repaired my card 3 times these methods.
You can use this ONLY on memory card reader.
I recently encountered a problem with my HTC Sensation (Running on Carbon Rom with Android 4.3.1), that suddenly it started to drop signals. So I tried restarting the phone and by accident I removed the SD Card while the phone was still switched on. Now the phone doesn't detect the SD Card anymore when I insert it. I don't think its a problem related to the card reader, as it prompts me to format the SD Card after I put it to the phone, however, when I allow it to format the SD Card, it won't be formatted. So I tried inserting by manually formatting the SD Card, but still it failed to recognize it. Afterwards, I tried several times by clearing cache, and trying to mount it from the recovery with no luck whatsoever. Plus, I tried inserting another SD Card (which was not from an Android phone) and still the result was the same.
Would really appreciate if someone can help me out on what should I do?

so the problem is when I copied a movie into ny sd card, it suddenly got corrupted.
symptoms:
It displays sd card is damaged
when you click it, it suggest to format but it will not format.
tried connctng it to a computer.
tried to reformat but doesnt reformat neither fat or nfs. (not sure bout the term)
tried 3rd party apps to format but doesnt work
tried chkdsk and failed
tried using card reader and failed
tried recovery app but failed
the card cannot be read by pc/cp
white protected whn reformatting
shos 0byte/0byte size
8gb mmc
Kindly post your device details so that we might be able to point in the right help.
You might also want to do a low level format of the card on a PC with a Card reader.
Sir,i have recently rooted my phone 10 days back...First thing i have done after rooting is partitioned my external memory card to increase my internal storage capacity..........The phone worked nice....... and then i have installed color os rom,but then my phone got struck at the boot and not started...........so the i have restored to previous rom through cwm recovery.........I have recently backedup my current latest rom and stored in my external sd card just 1 day back..........Today morning , i found my phone to be switched off and when i started my phone many of my apps were found to be missing and the i found that my external sd card is not detected and shown in the settings menu as "mount the sd card."...But my sd card is getting readed in my pc........I have tried many times removing battery and then reinserting my sd card but of no use:crying::crying:When i searched through web, somewhere i found that the sd card may be st as "logical" and advised to change it as "primary" partition with mini partition tool....But to my disappointment, my sd card is already set as "primary partition
And the other option i tired is formatting my sd card with "SD formatter" in my windows 7 pc and when i inserted my mem card back.....i found it is of no use and it is still not mounted
And i have also tried reinstalling cmw.img recovery from dev website which most users said to be the best cwm for my micromax a 110q
I am unable to install the backed up rom as my sd cardis not visible.........

I have tried many things like
formatting my sd card with sd card formatter in windows
using mini partition tools for formmating and chanfing its partition
reinstalling the stock rom
reinstalling cwm recovery
But after installing stock rom ,now it sometimes identifies my sd card and get mounted automatically but within minutes it again unmounts itself and my sd card will not be detected in storage
So,please help me
from the last one year i was using this sd card bt today when i woke up i got notification that my sd card is black you need to format it. i open the card on computer bt there is nothing showing except my sd card. when i click it says to format card. i have 29 gb data inside. i cannot format. bt i searched on forums i got solution to recover, but for that i need to format my sdcard first. so when i begin to format i got error that window unable to format. i tried with sdformatter software still not formatting i getting error the my sdcard has a write protection please release the protection.. i even tried the cmd commade for partition and format. bt doestnt work, thn i tried with dis management still doestnt work. help me to format my sd card. its 32gb sd card bt the capacity its showing is 30mb.
