What Moto Z mods or accessories do you have? - Moto Z Accessories

Hello to all,
I originally owned the Z Force when I was with Verizon. I've since left that terrible company and am with cricket. I received my new Moto Z 64g yesterday and am loving it like I did my Z Force but even better without Verizon Bloat in my way. I thought $499 was a sweet deal on this phone. Am I correct on that do you guys think? I love the mods. Of course the battery Tumi mod is my favorite but outside of the battery, what mods do you guys have. The JBL speaker is awesome. It makes the phone thick but wow, it's great for a speaker phone, watching a movie and listening to music without having to use my external JBL speakers. Next are the style shell covers. I don't personally like the fake wood shells but I like a couple of Motos and Incipio. Right now I'm using the black leather moto shell. I wish they would make a brown leather and red leather. I have the red nylon ballistic on order. I'm glad to be back with the Moto Z family. Personally I liked the Z Force better but of course Verizon has it exclusive to them. Moto shouldn't allow such things or I'd have another Z Force. The Moto Z is so skinny and thin but as long as I have a shell o. It then it feels good. I'm curious of what you all have in terms of mods. I'd like to try the camera out but it is just to expensive as it's something I wouldn't use enough to justify.

$500 is a bit steep in my opinion. I picked it up for $240 for a 32gb z, JBL speaker mod, and Incipio wireless battery pack. I then picked up the VZW bumper for $12 and a 30w turbocharger for $20. I don't think that I'll ever use the style shell. I've seen multiple reviews that the camera is worse than the stock cam in every regard except zoom. The phone itself is okay. It gets very hot, and lags heavily when handling files in excess of 10gb in the background. Something that my s7 edge handled just fine.

but that is on contract
499 is the best price on us or eu for non contract unlocked so far

The accessory I use nearly every single night is the projector. It's a bit pricey, but it fits my needs perfectly. Every night I cuddle up with the significant other to watch an episode of a show before we go to bed. Now I just project the show onto my wall for a 10ft equivalent display, and it's already dark so going to bed's even easier.

Just ordered the Incipio off grid power pack with built in wireless charger. It just got back in stock in the last day or so. Used a 50% off coupon so ~45$ shipped.

Waited for a sale when it was out of stock then kindly asked them if they could meet the sale price when it was back in stock. They sent me a one shot code. Have waited for this since cyber Monday back in Nov.

Seidio Desktop Dock-Landcape

I had to use my ebay bux before they expired and got the Seidio desktop cradle, landscape version. In the box is a travel charger and the dock of course. With it, installed the insert already there so that you can use the dock out of the box without a case. The great thing about this dock is that I have the Seidio Active case with kickstand (also have the holster as well but that's another thread lol) and to use this dock all you need to do is remove the insert. Viola! the case fits the dock perfectly!
And another thing for all you guys/gals/ghouls and ghosts.....the dock actually launches the clock or dock mode. I prefer it didn't personally, because the wife hates it when the screen lights up in the middle of the night.
Taking the phone on and off the dock is pretty self-explanatory. You have to pretty much line up the port with the phone so that it seats properly. Any deviation from the angel will just not work.
On the back of the dock is the Seidio logo. When plugged in via AC or USB, the dock has a line that "underlines" the word Seidio. IMO better than any LED blaring.
The only negative I have for this dock, besides the price...which brings me to another topic....craigsdocks.com, my initial PORTRAIT dock, made in the good ol' USA and still going strong and much better build quality IMO, which can be purchased for a few dollars more, but worth it in every way. The only thing is with craigsdocks.com, when docking, those docks DO NOT go into any dock mode, but can be finagled by using a good conditional program like llama profiles.
Now back to topic..lol....the only negative for the Seidio dock is that in my instance, when docked and goes into dock mode, the phone gets too warm for my tastes. I downloaded an app called no dock from the market to keep it from going into dock mode and since then the temp of the phone has dissipated.
Bottom line, would I recommend this dock? For what I paid for it, hell yes. At full retail of 30 usd? Not really, I'd pay about 20 usd shipped.
Here are the pics snapped up today. Enjoy! As usual, post any questions you may have.

I wouldn't advise to buy directly from the retailer unless you have personal preferences to do so. I saved a bunch by looking on ebay from a reputable seller. That reminds me, I forgot to give the seller feedback lol....
I have this dock to, I love it. It works with all the cases I have except for the otterbox that I had. Definitely well worth the 19 dollars I spent on it.

Looks very stylish! Looks like a great dock to move media or roms over to flash
Assuming that http://www.amazon.com/Sinjimoru-Charge-Samsung-Galaxy-Verizon/dp/B005NJ6EPI would be it.
I need something with speakers
Looks like the thing would easily tip over... any comments? Can you actually use the phone while it is docked, or does it just tip over?
Looks like most of the amazon reviews say its too lightweight...

guys I just wanted to chime in to this, I have owned this dock and the build quality is absolute junk. Its made in china major plastic piece of crap that feels like it will fall apart every time you dock ur phone.

Seems like that's exactly why they released the aluminum version, it's supposed to be quite a bit larger and heavier. Still it's a lot for a dock to me, I just use the type that has a sticky gel pad on the front that run for less than $10, combined with some kind of glossy or crystal clear case on my device. Plus side is it keeps the devices "up in the air", so that cables can be plugged into the bottom still.
Ok after seeing the most reviews say that it's pretty much a cheaply made dock, I have an alternative. Although a bit pricey, I can attest to it's quality. I have the Sensation docks, both landscape and portrait. And if the GS3 docks can be used then I recommend this guy's USA made docks out of aluminium. For $68 bux. I can say its worth every penny. I know it's a bit to pay for a dock, but this guy hand makes each dock and you can tell the quality. Looks like you can use the dock with any tpu case you can throw at it lol.
Support made in the USA guys!

Would definitely not spend ~$70 for a dock haha. I personally don't use them but even if I did I couldn't justify myself spending $70 for a dock. Looks nice though.

I have this dock (picked one up for $5 off Ebay). It is very lightweight and tips over VERY easily. Also, it will not work if you have the bumper because the USB connector won't go far enough in. I bought one of these for my daughters phone too and it broke in just a couple months.

My Nexus 4 Accessories Photos (or... a small Begoos bumper pouch/sleeve)

I've only had my N4 since December, but have accumulated a few random accessories along the way...well not as much as some folks here :silly:. This is mainly going to be a small collection of photos I took of the pouch made by a nice artisan who is also on Etsy by the name of Begoos and can make custom size cases in various materials to fit what you want. (I won't link to her, but if this interests you, she can easily be found if you search for "Nexus 4" on Etsy). I found out recently this pouch was mentioned in the thread about pouches that fit the bumper so I think some of you know about it or have it or even posted a review of it. I know everyone doesn't use pouches, but I was just so impressed with this pouch and the bumper after waiting for like two months for it to come back in stock at the US Play Store.

This hand-made pouch has a magnetic type closure/flap, which I really like over the drawstring type. This pouch's centered flap position and position of the N4's headphone jack mesh pretty well in usage. Even a large headphone adapter can fit without any conflict from the flap.
This is now closed:
A naked N4 fits very well, and the "cushion" material inside makes it kind of like a small amount of padding. So, I think it is pretty decent for a small amount of protection (well, I can only assume...).
A bumper-equipped N4 slides in and out of the pouch without any hassle. And fits inside like it was made for it.
All I remember telling her through Etsy was the bumper dimensions so I believe it was made slightly wider than her usual N4 sized pouch. It took about two weeks from her in Latvia to me in the US (back in early January), but the wait was well worth it! Personally, this is definitely just as premium feeling and a "feel good" buy as the LG Bumper IMHO. Even if you don't plan on using this daily, it's one of those nice to have items if you plan on keeping your N4 for a long time like me. I hope this was helpful.
cool, nice clean pictures, looks like you love your nexus a lot

Very impressed with the OP's collection!
I also bought a case from Linda with a small logo drawn . Very quick turnaround, and very personalised purchasing experience. Shipping took 2 weeks to Australia. Case is well constructed as described by OP, and she has a variety of fabrics and colours available to personalise your case. Here's a pic of mine. Loving my N4 and case to bits!
I have to say she did a SPECTACULAR job with your custom N7 logo sleeve! :highfive: GJ Linda!
Wow, very nice looking sleeve. I had not really considered one until seeing your pictures. Seeing as how I am trying to live without a screen protector, this may be a wise investment.
edit: I just messaged asking if she could do a custom order for me: one with a pocket on the back for credit cards/etc., similar to the ones she has on some of the nexus 7/iPad mini sleeves. It would be great to be able to leave the wallet behind some nights.
I'm liking the big lebowski and OP's sleeve

Draco Hydra Bumper Case For Galaxy S4 (Review)

I was a Lumia 920 user and loved the way it looked. A month back, I switched to Galaxy S4, but soon found how cheap it looked compared to the Lumia 920. There is day and night difference in how solid Lumia felt and Samsung felt. A friend of mine told me about Draco and how good-looking your phone becomes after putting it on.
I bit the bullet and bought it. It costed me a hefty $99, and so far, I have been very happy with it.

Unlike the iPhone 5 Draco case (which I also have), there is no signal drop at all (although Draco claimed there would be no drop in signal in iPhone 5).
+ Looks amazing
+ Excellent built quality. No rattles anywhere, whatsoever.
+ Makes your phone unique
+ Does not affects cellular or Wi-Fi signal strength.
+ GPS works just fine.
+ Phone no longer feels slippery. It adds good grip, thanks to black plastic accents
- Price. At $99.99, not everybody can afford it. But if you can afford it, go, get it. Do not get the cheap knockoffs, as they may affect signal strength.
You can find my complete review here. High resolution pictures can be seen here.
Got any questions? Feel free to ask them.

I could maybe justify $100 for case, but for THAT? No way. Lifeproof or Otterbox, maybe. Maybe.
I DO like the way it looks, just far to expensive.
that ducati case looks like it makes the phone way too hard to hold on to lol
id buy the aliexpress version
Why would they put Ducati on the case? I really think it shrinks their target market down to non existent. Even if I owned a Ducati, I wouldn't want it on my phone, its just odd. And from my experience (I had one on the S3 that looked much better) it messes with the signal.
The Element Eclipse is a much better premium style case and it doesnt mess with the signal as much because the metal doesnt wrap around where the antenna is. Any metal case that wraps around the antenna location is going to mess with the signal somewhat. Plus with the element, you get full protection and you can find them for under 20 bucks on ebay.
I'm glad you're enjoying it, I doubt they sell many though because of the strange decision to slap Ducati all over it.

Actually, mine is very easy to take out. The face on my aluminum bumper slides off to let the phone out that's actually the only reason I bought it. The one above looks like the screw on type. That I couldn't deal with.

I had the one for s3 and iPhone 5. They did somewhat messed with cellular and WiFi radios. Looks like this issue has been resolved in GS4's case.
PS: You can choose not to put the Ducati sticker on the back. But yeah, you can do nothing about the one on the case itself.

Awesome, I'm still debating if I want a Gear 2 or the Gear Neo.
Decisions decisions. Only thing different is the Gear Neo doesn't have a camera, right?
Had the gear 2 for a week. I liked the build, but not the camera.
It only took one trip to a busy men's room to realize I don't want a camera at wrist level with any chance of it snapping a photo or video.
The Neo suits me just fine.
