I hate every vibration. Some apps use the vibration as haptic feedback or they give me notification with vibration even if it's disabled from settings. Is there a simple way to disable EVERY vibration? For example an app (obviously with root permissions) or an Xposed Module. An 'extreme' solution would be to operate at kernel level or to physically disconnect the vibration motor!
Thank you in advance, I've got a rooted Nexus 5 running stock Android 4.4.3 and Franco kernel.

Franco kernel has a feature to adjust the vibration level. Use 0 and vibrations will disappear I think.

Download FKU app from Google Play. There's a built in option.
Root your phone (if not done yet) -> flash franco kernel-> install francokernel updater from the playstore -> set vibrations amp to 0 (in Kernel Settings). Done!

Thank you guys! I'm new with this kernel and I didn't know the premium version of franco.kernel updater is full of features! I happily bought this app to thank Franco for his work and now... nothing vibrates!

Why not just disable vibration through settings. Much simpler. Nothing against FKU, as I have it, but it seems like overkill.

I've always kept vibration disabled in the Android settings, but some apps keep sending me notification with vibration and these apps don't let me customize their notification type (sound and vibrate). Other apps use vibration as their own haptic feedback. All these vibrations don't depend by Android system (and so by Android settings).
For example, Hangouts vibrates, but it has an option to deactivate that behaviour. Clash of Clans keeps vibrating on notifications. A lot of launchers vibrate when moving some elements. I just don't want that feature at all!

Well in that case I completely understand! That sounds insanely annoying.
So, before Lollipop we used to slide the volume down to zero to get in to vibration mode, and press another time to go complete silent.
I used to have my phone in silent mode at work, sitting on the table, because vibration on a table is pretty noisy. I just silenced it and the notification light showed me any incoming notifications.
Lollipop introduced this new "Priority Interruptions" mode, and if you don't have any interruptions set up it is basically like the old silenced mode. The issue is that in priority mode the LED notification light doesn't light up anymore!
So, any help replicating a completely silent and non-vibrating phone showing notifications through led?
Thanks in advance :good:
UPDATE:
If you use a third party app to light up the light while in priority mode, you have to enable his notification access:
Settings > Sound and Notification > Notifications Access > Check Lightflow/Light Manager Access
Also you need the notification app itself to be activated as a priority interruption:
Settings > Sound and Notification > App notifications > Lightflow/Light Manager > Enable Priority
Thanks to sorcio91 on figuring this out. :good:
Meanwhile we found out some apps don't obey to priority rules. Whatsapp is one of them, and also user naelya reports Viber is creating issues. If you find any issue with some other app let us know in this topic. According to sorcio91, dowloading the version at http://www.whatsapp.com/android/ solves the issue.
I have my phone on silent 24/7 and rely on notification light too.. Frustrating they removed a basic feature like putting ringtone/vibrations on silent only..
Glad I'm not the only one having this issue. I use timeriffic to setup profiles, but it's pretty much useless now. At work I usually have my phone on silent and use my watch and notification light for notifications, but that doesn't work now. Looks like the final build is more of a nod towards the N6.
Will tasker get round this?
I have a problem with that too....
And: with priority interruptions active, whatsapp continues to make sounds when notifications arrives...is for you the same?

Had the same issue on the developer preview, but i thought it was a preview bug at that point. Didn't receive many notifications in the last few hours, but i'll see if i experience that also.
Back on the notification light:
Is there anyway we can report back to google? But this is more of a feature request than a bug i think.

Dear friend, i've just found a workaround...the version of whatsapp downloadble at http://www.whatsapp.com/android/ works well with lollipop notifications manager, but if you update or install it from the play store it will (in some strange way) bypass the notification manager and it will "ring" even in priority mode.
Let me know if it works for you...
my whatsapp seems to be working ok, just the notification light thing is bugging me.

Can you please check your whatsapp version number?
Have you tried if lightflow or some app like that does the job for the notifications?
I just tried with a friend and Whatsapp rings full volume in priority mode, even if it's not set up to. That's strange, becasue I thought that ringtone volumes were blocked at system-level.

I use Light Manager but I don't think it's the app fault. The led does not light up even with in-app basic light settings. I wrote to the developer to know if he eventually can override that behavior (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56706374&postcount=2015).
I also have Lightflow PRO from the Play Store, but didn't have time to try that extensively. I doubt it will work though.

That's bad. But it's also possible that Whatsapp uses some deprecated code in the app development that results in this. It's not the first time that this multi-billion company shows examples of really bad app design...

I have app Light Flow. It work. But seems there is one trick for this. Install Light flow app. Then go in Options/Accessibilitiy and and turn on Lighht Flow Lite!
Please answer if this working for you.
I have find REAL silent mode! Top ****! =]
Just click volume button, and there is priority mode. Just click first option! Or set priority mode. In priority mode you can turn on notification for like SMS, and turn of for incoming calls!

I know that you can use NONE, but that way also alarms are silenced. And in the morning I need to wake up to something :good:
By the way without any third party software you can't have notifications light up when in priority. Don't know if consider this an issue or an intended feature. By the way, with light manager, notification access is also enabled but doesn't seem to work anyway.
I still can't get it to work. I have the full version of the app. I have it activated, no persistent icon (other than the L Preview one it puts on automatically) and then I have set priority mode on with no active notifications...but nothing lights up.
Hi All,
I am very new to Xposed and I just finished installing V85. Thanks for the TuT!
If you could, would you list your favorite Plug-ins and why you like them? I would like very much to have a review'ish type list to measure a particular plug-in's popularity.
I figure if someone posts their favorite and we get a lot of likes or re-posts of the same plug-in then I can make a more informed decision on what I would like to use.
Thanks in advance!

I use Boot Manager, Gravity Box, G4 Tweaksbox and GEL Settings. Be careful for conflicting tweaks, enable one at a time between reboots.
My go-to Xposed plugins are:
G4 Tweaksbox - so I can skip tracks by long-pressing the volume keys; also various theme tweaks, disabling low battery warnings, etc.
NotifyClean - originally so I could hide the WiFi Calling persistent notification (IPService), but now I no longer use it.
Secure Settings - I rely on Tasker for a lot of things, and this is required for special functions (like waking the screen).
Youtube AdAway - what ads?
Youtube Background Playback - I disable auto-update of the Youtube app so it stays in sync with this plugin
App Settings is nice if you like changing the DPI for certain apps. Amplify + Greenify is a nice battery saving combo that feature xposed modules.
App settings, One Tap YouTube module, YouTube background playback, YouTube adAway
Youtube AdAway and Youtube Background seems popular
Could anyone give me a link to the most recent xposed framework?

did you stop using NotifyClean because you no longer needed it or because it was causing issues? for me, I need this module, but it seems to be causing SystemUI crashes on MM and Xposed 85... contacted author in thread, but no response =(
Can anyone please recommend an xposed module for immersive mode on V10?

G4 tweaksbox will work to get rid of nav bar but will not help with status bar. Don't use gravity box, it won't work for immersive.

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried a few other things also and discovered that "immerse me" works fine on my phone. It was a surprise for me because the description says the module is for kitkat. Others can try it if they are looking for immersive mode (all apps) for marshmallow on V10.

I stopped using wifi calling, so I stopped needing NotifyClean. However, it appears I still have it installed while running MM and it hasn't caused any issues. I just re-enabled wifi calling and it hid the notification immediately without causing any problems. I'm running Xposed framework version 83 and one of the earlier versions of Eliminater74's MM rom.

I was thinking of checking that module out as well, but I paid for NotifyClean and hopefully it's still being developed on by @defim... unfortunately I have not heard anything as of yet.

thanks for the info! do you have fingerprint unlock enabled by any chance? that's my issue with NotifyClean... it keeps restarting SystemUI and I'd be alright with it if it didn't break fingerprint unlock.

I just set up a fingerprint, enabled a PIN lockscreen, and was able to unlock the screen with my fingerprint. Confirmed that it worked after a reboot. (Though the first time unlocking after rebooting gives me "Unable to use fingerprint," but is fine after that.)

if you're able to keep an eye on things and report back to let me know, that would be appreciated. for me NotifyClean and fingerprint unlock do work, however after some time without any reboots or anything out of the ordinary that I'm aware of my device locks the screen and won't accept fingerprint unlock. I know the phone hasn't rebooted on its own to cause this because I've literally put the phone down for less than 2 minutes only to have to enter the password to unlock. my phone is set to lock after 10 minutes... I've checked the Xposed logs to find nothing in there and only after I disable this module does this issue not happen again.

Settings/Battery/Battery Optimization
Look for the 3 dots in the upper right part of the screen and press those, choose advanced and turn off Sleep Standby Optimization. Restart your phone and give it a couple of days.
What I did for messenger (WARNING as this will use your data):
Settings/Wifi&Internet/Data usage ... press Wifi and then choose Wifi data usage. Scroll down until you see the troubled app and toggle Disabled Wifi on.
What works for me is locking the apk in the recent section. Tap the three dots on the top right and tap lock.

Hi everyone,
Like many others I'm having to use Zoom a lot lately, the laptop's webcam is broken so I'm using the phone as a webcam.
Every time a notification comes in, though, it interrupts the webcam. Silent mode has no effect on that.
Are there any apps (rooted or not) that can temporarily disable all notifications, then, when switched off, restore the prior settings of notifications for all apps?
I'm aware of NotificationsOff, but not understanding whether switching profiles off and on messes all the detailed notification settings painstakingly set for certain apps, and not willing to risk that.
Thanks for any tips!

Hmm can't you just use Do Not Disturb mode and set it to not only disable sounds, but also visual notifications - so therefore they won't be heard nor seen?
I'm on Resurrection Remix, see the attached screenshot, but I'm sure OOS has this setting too
Thank you @cd993 that sounds like exactly what I want, and you're right, it's in the OOS menu, and I just discovered that this setting was already activated.
But now you're making be doubt, maybe I haven't been activating DND. The switch on the side of the phone activates Silent mode, but I guess it doesn't do notifications.
Will try DND and ask again if that doesn't work.
