I went to the store and was checking out, getting ready to use Samsung Pay, but when I launched the app it brought me straight to the set up screen to add a card with none saved. There was no update or anything, and I've successfully used the previous tokenized card on the app. What the heck, how am I supposed to rely on this as a payment solution when the card disappears randomly from the app?
I've had this watch less than a week and I don't know how to prevent this moving forward to avoid having a situation where I'm at a store and I can't even use one of the primary features of this watch.
Did you disable lock screen? Samsung Pay won't work without a lock screen pin code etc

I did not remove the lock PIN since I set up Samsung Pay the first time about a week ago. The watch app acted like it was the first time I ever turned it on despite me setting up the app and using my card on it successfully a couple days ago.
Crazy. Do you have S-pay on your phone too? I don't as mine has tripped knox. I had to remove the phone version but leave gear S version for it to work. Hope you get it figured out.

Yep. I've got a GS7 edge with Samsung Pay configured. Thankfully that still has kept my card for a couple months now.
I have the same issue all my cards keep deleting after about a day or so - I've opened a ticket with Samsung Pay support haven't heard back from them yet
Make sure your watch S pay is updated. The last version used to do that to me.
I only had that happen when I turned off PIN unlock.
My Gear S3 has been recently been doing what the OP has stated. I have added my cards a second time and it has deleted my cards a second time again. Anyone know if it's the new update for some reason?
Any update to this? Just happened to me. Cards deleted within 24 hours. WTF? Since I use a Credit Union...I can't verify my card 'til Monday. As much as I like this watch...it's the little things that give me Buyer's Remorse.
Since this thread is so small... Guessing that it's not as wide spread...or not too many people care?

Not sure if it's the same issue but I recently had my Amex card stop working...it was showing on my S3 but when I went to use it, it popped up saying "Contact Customer Service". I think an update did get pushed to my watch which might have caused it? I was able to delete and re-add the card without issues and its working again now.

I have been getting a different popup with my Amex card where Samsung Pay on the S3 shows the 'stay connected to phone' error with my Amex card. It's happened every few months or so. Maybe it's something about Amex cards all together since that's the only card that I've ever had an issue with on the S3. The Amex card continues to work fine on my Galaxy S6 Samsung Pay app without incident, so it's just the S3 Samsung Pay app that has the problem with this card.

My card gets s removed from my Gear S3 whenever I wear my Gear S2, then go back to wearing my Gear S3. Samsung says this is normal. It's a pain and very frustrating.
I just had all my cards deleted from Samsung pay for no reason. I only found out about it because of emails from Amex saying your card was removed from Samsung pay...at first I thought it was Amex cancelling an account, but all the cards are done and it invites me to "start using Samsung pay". Grr...
I have a Pixel XL running lates 8.1 Oreo OS, with the T-mobile Gear s3 classic. No issues in the past ten days or so prior to now.
Any insight into what might be wrong, or suggestions on how to get it fixed would be very much appreciated. TIA
I've had the Gear S3 for about a month. Loaded two cards into Samsung pay and used them several times over a couple weeks. This morning they didn't show up on the watch and going to "Samsung Pay" in settings it was like I never set it up. I reloaded and activated both cards and it's all ok again. Both cards come up on the watch again. We'll see how long this lasts.
This has happened to me a couple of times over the past 3 months. It's so annoying. My card never gets removed from Google Pay but has been removed from Samsung Pay on my Gear S3 around 4 or 5 times lately. I've had my Gear S3 for a year and a half, and never experienced this issue before.
I'm in the UK and bank with Nationwide, if this helps anyone. Plus my phone isn't a Samsung, the phone my Gear S3 Frontier is connected to is a Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
Ongoing since purchase

I've had this issue since I purchased the watch in March. It seems random, possibly related to the watch trying to communicate with my phone and failing? Looking at the posts here the only common factor seems to be the watch itself.
I've been getting the card still being present but getting the contact customer support message. I get it about a week after adding the card back. So I just keep doing it, get frustrating. I called Samsung pay and they went round and round and finally asked what phone I'm using and told them it's a OnePlus 6. They came back and said my phone isn't compatible with Samsung pay. I asked why does it content and setup then if not compatible and works for a week or so at a time and they didn't know.
I'm going to try and freeze the Samsung pay on my phone and just leave the one on the watch running and see if that does the trick.

Since late December android users on AT&T have been able to charge the app to their AT&T account with the newest market. I however have the newest version of market and CAN NOT charge the apps to my carrier. I work for AT&T and am allotted $40 a month to charge which would be SWEET I just cant get the button to appear instead of my credit card. My coworker on his unrooted Captivate can do it I'm wondering if any of you have any suggestions or if you'd had any luck yourself. Thanks!
Can you at least buy apps via credit card? I ask because when I first got the Vibrant, it wouldn't allow me to buy apps via T-Mobile or credit card until later on when I used a beta gingerbread rom. If you can still buy via credit card, then I'm not sure. What error message do you get or does it not appear at all?
A work around is getting a cheap At&t android phone and use it to buy apps and as a backup phone.
Oh, make sure to read the agreement. I was going to buy one with T-mobile but it said once I do, T-mobile can remove the apps at any given moment. So I was like "Hell no!"

it just never shows the option at all.. I am able to buy via my visa and mastercard just not bill to ATT. I wonder if it has anything to do with root as my coworkers phone is not rooted.... ? I think it might because I have an N1 as well and had a Captivate niether of them showed it either... My coworkers phone that has the option is a Captivate and is not rooted.. think root has anything to do with it?
BTW I like that idea of having a cheap android to use for buying apps. I'm going to try my SIM in a return see if it works.... lol
So what happened regarding this?

I never got a definite answer however I know it's not because of having root access. Market is able to tell what type of device you have and carriers can block subscribers from certain apps depending on firmware etc.. I've come to the conclusion that att/market doesn't recognize my device as an att phone. Just as when we put a rom on my coworkers phone the option disappeared. My atrix is rooted yet I've got that option. This is the only thing i can assume ..
hello. has anyone ever been able to get the sim from a SAFE-LINK OBAMA PHONE to work in an unlocked android phone?
my phone is unlocked and i think i should be able to use any gsm sim card in it. but when i put the safelink sim in, it says please put in a valid sim card or something like that.

Hello, your simcard is bad...
You need to call safelink and have them seend you a new simcard...
When you get your new simcard in the mail you will install it and call safelink/tracfone and have them activate your phones simcard over the phone..
Not sure if anyone's following this thread anymore, but I did some research on this subject and actually spoke to Tracfone and SafeLink reps. This remains untested as of yet but I'm about to commit and buy a device to switch my friends phone from the cheesy old school one they provide. Though grateful as she may be, it is a technologically inferior phone and it's at least worth a try, because devices with the following specs are very cheap.
1. The replacement device MUST BE A TRACFONE.
2. It must have the same size Sim card slot as the one they provided initially, hers is a MINI SIM, so I assume they ALL are.
3. It must be a GSM device as they only provide service specific to their SIM card.
4. It MUST BE A NON-ANDROID device.
So, when I find a gsm Tracfone that's non-android, has a Mini-Sim card slotand doesn't have a touch screen, I'll buy it, call SafeLink to have her service transferred to that device and let you know what happens. According to the reps touch screen devices may or may not work as transferring service doesn't happen everyday. Wish me luck.
Sent from my N9510
thanks for that. im just now seeing this response from you some how. but i am going to try it once i get another android phone.
THANKS AGAIN.
any reason why it must be a non android device? that almost defeats the purpose..
I think they mean Android operating systems. So an older Windows or Samsung phone should work. I'm still looking through the ton of phones that are available and non-android before I commit to buying one. And am still searching databases on the subject just to make sure, but am about to move on it soon. Will post when I do and let you know if it works okay.
Tapatapped it.

Its funny you mention this, I have been using my SafeLink Simcard in an unlocked Android for some time now. Although I am unable to send or recieve MMS messages or access the internet (unless I'm on my wifi) its better than the simple phones they give you. I agree that it is worth checking out though, those phones while simple have excellent battery life.

thanks for the response and info. i appreciate it. i hadn't been on here in quite some time do to my main computer CRASHING! I WAS DEVASTATED! NO PASSWORDS NO NOTHING FOR A WHILE. i cut my sim last night and tried it but no luck for me on that front.. maybe the cut is off a little or something. but my sim chip part is really tiny. i'm guessing nano and don't know that should be positioned.

Can you please share how you did it?
Thanks,
I'm not a obaMa fone (gov insurance phone) expert but I wouldnt understand how a sim card with service would even know its not in a certain phone. the phone not getting service is a thing by itself due to radios not matching service frequency and all that other stuff. Your sim card size is a different story, nano sim card devices need nano sim cards to get service. So being the obaMa Phone comes with the original sim card size Sim Card, one would have to first have a phone thats unlocked and takes the overgrown sim. If the sim is cut to a micro (via a sim cutter) I would say that should work in a micro sim unlocked device. MMS and Internet are fixed with proper APN configuration. Hope my insight helped. Will return with my own test shortly, hopefully.
EDiT: So I just took the obama phone simcard and put it in my unlocked china android and no go, didn't read the sim. However I put in another sim from net10 and realized it worked so I then took them out and noticed they are different sizes as far as the copper or bronzed color parts of the sim. So I think its about just having the right sim card for it. Not all sims are the same and since the obama phone uses its sim for memory as well, texts + contacts... I'm sure thats the major difference. smart sim vs dumb sim. I will be back as I wish to make this work now, lol. PEACE

I am the caregiver to handicapped and disabled people and I have helped 3 people sign up and signed myself up as well and 3 of us signed up with Q-link wireless and all got LG Androids and one wanted to sign up with Safe link and he got the smallest junk phone that he can't he can't even read the buttons because they are so small.
I will tell you that all the Q-link androids do not come with sim cards and say SD card unmounted or not present when trying to use certain features like the camera, which I would really like for that to work to take pictures of my patients while I still have them with me, but I cannot get Q-link to send me a sim they do not have them or just don't want to help anyone out. They will not even replace a phone that broke with-in 2 days of arrival for a patient. Always look to you tube or online for free help or videos on how to do it yourself before paying out of pocket, something they were going to charge him shipping and handling back to them and $20-$30 for another phone that probably would have been the same phone, just they new which 3 buttons to push in which order to reset the phone from their bad upgrade..... Seriously saved him $50 and weeks without a phone just by watching it on you tube and following the video, 15 minutes and he had his phone good as new and a smile to boot. They just wanted to squeeze more money put of a man that only had $38 left after paying his bills each month and his $126 a month the state gives him for food stamps. Hope you see this and you and the people you care for are able to start using your cameras!
Hopefully you figured this out by now, otherwise hopefully you still subscribe to this thread and maybe I can earn my first thanks. Anyway, your problem isn't the sim, your sim card and sd card are not the same thing. You need to get and install an SD micro memory card and your camera functions will start working as well as likely opening up some additional storage space for apps possibly and media files definitely! Surprised nobody else caught this, feeling pretty good about myself lol

Yes you can use any smart phone (iphone-Galaxy-Verizon-AT&T) with your safelink services. There are a couple ways to do this.
(1) You can try moving the SIM card to a new phone if it fits and see if it picks up service. Some people have said this worked great for them. Fast & Easy
(2) You can go to TracFone web site and buy a SIM that will allow you to move a smart phone over to your Safelink service. It's called Bring Your Own Smartphone.
(3) Or you can buy the "Bring Your Own Smartphone" kit from your local Walmart for $10. But it only does AT&T - Verizon phones.
The phone needs to be compatible or unlocked GSM LTE or CDMALTE.

smart sim vs dumb sim. lol,,,,,,, that is literally hilarious! im crying over here.. lol
but, i think its the truth. the gov sims ive had had to be locked to a phone in some cases. almost like the metro pcs sims. they want you to attach it to a imei on the phone. but im scared to keep trying to mess with it as sometimes i have to end up getting a new sim and theyve messed up my phone number before... argh..
i am currently using a sim card from an alcatel one touch safe link phone in my sght399n samsung galaxy light with jellybean and it works fine it is a standard size sim card it is my under standing that as long as the phone is unlocked the sim card will work with the exception of the mini sim card you would have to find an tracphone that has a mini sim in it to use it in an unlocked phone that uses that type of sim card how ever i can verify that the standard size works in any unlocked phone that takes that size my brother has a trac phone sim in his lg stylus and my sister has one in her Samsung galaxy prime both run android operating systems and work fine my brother has marshmellow and my sister has lollipop 5.1.1
my **** for what ever reason gets stolen about every 9 mos or so i have no idea what the hell is going on but trac fone and my self are getting real damn sick of it so if any body can tell these ****ing pieces of crap to stop that would be great this phone that i just had stolen got taken 2 weeks ago and i am getting really pissed about it now as well its like the ones who are doing it just simply know when and where to strike next i never tell any body where i am moving to when i move and then it happens again and again its like they have a tracking device on me 24/7 and each time it is a new person doing the deal so what gives who other than the cops do i tell each time i am in a different place in a different frame of mind its always one of those cheap safe link phones that mean nothing to any body other than to make a call its truly ridiculous because if they try to sell it they are going to prison for stealing gov property so really it did them no good to take the damn thing to start with this next time i get paid i will be getting a smart phone and i will just keep it in my pocket now take it you piece of **** you worth less piece of **** dog **** so if they get this next one i am going to the FBI because i then will be sure that there is more to this then just simply stealing my phone i already believe that i just need something to prove it so if it comes down to it i might have to invest in a new security cams for my place that would probably be more useful than getting a new phone but somehow you are suppose to keep up with the latest gear but i have never done that why start now for things i dont like no i wont but i do need a better phone than what i have now which is not much at all some ten yr old android that i got at krogers like 5 yrs ago for like 15 bucks now that same phone is 30 and not worth 7.50 it has text but i have been using this damn thing for about a week now and i cant figure out how it works
Ran the Samsung/Verizon updater that pops up when you plug phone into computer.
Got an upgrade that inabled the Samsung Pay app and run time, I installed days ago.
Every thing went through but ended with my cards not accepted yet.
Chase is not on the list.
I am on the T-mobile network but it didn't work in till the update.
The update is labled OG7 that's what I had, I think. It took longer to download than update. Not like a full Rom.
The latest OG7 firmware was just a monthly security patch update. Had nothing to do with Samsung Pay. http://www.verizonwireless.com/dam/support/pdf/system_update/android-generic-security-patch-su.pdf
My card activation is still pending so they must be blocking that part still some how. I did get the email from B of A that the virtual card was added but app still shows pending (been almost 2 days now).
How are you guys even getting the Samsung Pay app on your phone? I am on BOG7 as well, but don't have the app.
Side note: been using Samsung Pay on my Note 5 on T-Mobile for a while now and it's awesome Hope my Verizon phone gets it soon!

Until you get the official update from Verizon, it is unlikely to work correctly. Let's hope Verizon pushes it soon.
Also for those of you have ever rooted your phone or are thinking of rooting, once you do so Samsung Pay will never work on your phone.

From what I remember PingPongRoot doesn't trip Knox, however, it wasn't the only root around and I believe there was a root method that did trip Knox but on other variants. I might just be thinking about the Note 4 though.

................nobody gonna ask why people on T-Mobile are posting in the Verizon threads about an app that Verizon hasn't released for its customers yet?
Everyone should go on verizon's twitter page and complain about Samsung pay so they would hurry their asses up

Successfully used Samsung Pay today for my lunch. Did OTA last night, it made me re-add my card to Samsung pay (it was already installed a couple week ago from apk mirror). It activated within minutes. So glad this works now...want to use it other places too
Samsung pay finally good to go for several more banks. Will test this puppy out after work >=D

Hi
Facing the issue of being unable to remove the activation lock on my iPhone - I'm of course using the same samsung account as the one I used for activating the lock.
I receive a message prompting to use the same samsung account as the one used for locking the S3...
Tried to connect it to my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, but I have the same results...
I'm stuck!
Any idea of anything I should try out before I send the device for servicing?
Thanks!
Rodolphe
self-replying...
I returned the device for servicing.
Samsung charges approx. 70 USD for "attempting" to reset the watch, without any guarantees it will work!!!
I find it a bit harsh - is this common practice?
Rod
Ouch! That's crazy expensive without any surety.

Have you tried doing a hardware factory reset (hold down the power key then repeatedly tap it) on the watch?

Reactivation lock survives from resetting the watch. Even if you -by reflashing- make the watch forget about the lock, the second you try to pair it, gear manager will check watch’s serial number online and if it is reactivation locked by some other samsung account it wont let you pair with it.
Correct - tried all these options. The lock survives.
I don't how it got screwed up: I always used the same Samsung account, whether on the S7 or the iPhone.
I did lock and unlock it successfully on the S7.
I could lock it on the iPhone, but the unlock failed eventually.
And now I'm left with an unusable device.
Hopefully Samsung can unlock it.
Can't really tell if the iPhone version of Gear S is at fault or anything else happened in the background.
OK. Did you try logging into your Samsung account from a computer, erasing the device and removing it from your account? Basically the steps you would go through if you were going to sell the device.
I am Also Facing Same..
I Too received the same message and same problem. i am stucked. fcked ..
the same samsung id is used now it says enter the id used to lock gear previously.
but the both id used is same. then also it is not unlocking.

Unlock without activation code on iPhone
I am too having the same problem and have tried since January April to get it resolved and no one knows how and I'm also out $399 for a watch that doesn't work and was promised to work with iPhones. Wtf and I can't do anything about it
Does anyone know what to do?
I've contacted T-Mobile, Samsung customer service via phone and email, and bust-buy and even a Samsung help center. But no one know how to unlock it
Same with me! No iPhone involved, hehe.
I'm from Brazil and bought a pre owned Galaxy Gear S3 in a Game Stop store January this year. I locked my Gear with my Samsung account in a Galaxy Note 8 and it worked fine for 3 months. After a restore to restabilish a freeze, I couldn't unlock it. I tried Game Stop, Samsung and TMobile support, no success. Reflash and factory default didn't help.
Samsung support in Brazil don't support a imported device, so I just have a little brick... Send this device to USA is too expensive. Knowing that Samsung will charge 70 dollars for a try is tragic.
If someone knows a way, please share!
Obs: in my anguish I found a site that promises a unlock. Is there any base for their method? Or this is just a scam?

same prob - but with note 4 - says the samsung account doesn't match. don't know why this happened but it no longer recognizes my samsung account. still connected to my wifi at home. can someone suggest a service that can remove the frp from the watch?
Long story short, I lost my iphone 3 months ago in the dunes, then I shattered my backup S8+ screen yesterday. My brother gave me his backup phone that one of his friends borrowed. The person who was borrowing it has moved and has been pretty much MIA. The Samsung S8 doesn't recognize my brothers original gmail account he used when he purchased the phone. What are my options? Can I go to tmobile? I have tried every work around I could find. I've even tried using Odin to put a custom rom on it, which I don't think worked because I'm not sure how to enable debug mode with the phone being locked.
Called tmobile and they told me they can't do anything, even if I provide receipt of purchase on the phone. Can I contact samsung or something?
Contacted samsung and provided the receipt/proof of purchase. They stated they don't have the tools to unlock the FRP. They gave me the number for a facility that is capable of doing it. I have an appointment Monday to have the phone unlocked. They said it can take up to two hours, sometimes they aren't able to get through them. Will update how it goes.
