Hi
I have this phone since 2 weeks now and it's great...except for one thing. Indoor shots.
Almost all my pictures are blurry as soon as a person moves
Have you found a way to avoid this ?
Thx
Use the flash?

Anyone have issues with the flash on close up shots in a dark area. Like taking a picture in my pc case. It basically comes out as a white picture. I basically can't take a picture like this, tried stock camera and pro capture.
Maybe its a setting thing?
thats how it normally would be with any camera and a close up(macro) with a flash. you have to manually turn down the exposure before shooting that kind of photograph.

Camera noob here. Thanks man, didn't seem to have issues with my previous phone. (Note 2) But either way that helped a lot.

ive had that issue on every nexus since the first, lol
Haven't experienced this one, my nexus 5 is givng me quality shots even in low light condition. You just have to tap the screen first and let it focus on the object.

Yep. Same here. Any movement creates blur. they need to make an update that is a higher fstop setting, and lets a bit less light in, so that we can avoid all these blurry pictures.
Nope. ONCE it loads it's clear.

No. Blurry camera shots. Not blurry images when viewing on the phone.
I stared a thread for this. It is an issue:

You said screen shot in the title
But either way none of my pictures have been blurry.
I remember a member had a defected phone and it wouldn't take a clear pix at all.
Sorry i was talking abour Screen Shots only not Camera shots.
I'll try attaching one little later.
I experience poor picture quality on the pictures i take with stock app. I come from a Nexus 5 wich is recognized as having a poor camera and i had better picture on the Nexus. The picture is grainy in both light and dark environment. Colours is washed out. I use the hdr on auto. Resolution on the highest or the one below. I am comparing the pictures on the computer.
What is your experience with the camera?
Any tip to improve the pictures i take?

Outdoor photos with good light should not be grainy.try to focus better .indoor photos with low light are indeed a little grainy . try and experiment more in different light conditions . the camera is not top notch but for casual photos is ok. You need to spend some time with the camera to get used to it. It is the same camera as lg g3 maybe you can find more info in lg g3 thread.

Do you take pictures zoomed in? Under normal conditions and in the daylight the pictures shouldn't be grainy at all. In fact, I quite like them actually. IMHO best of all phones I've had in the past (see my sig) and it even takes usable pictures in almost total darkness (full moon, no flash).
I don't like the camera app, but that's a different story.
Thanks for your reply.
Do you use hdr or do you avoid it?

I left it to "Auto". IMHO it's quite smart and turns out better pics. Generally.
Anyone else taking photos with bad results? Even in good lighting sometimes it has some weird artifacts. I took a photo the other day of a friend and it made his beard and eyes look off.
Yes
yep, I am here looking for a fix. Only full HDR [2+ sec to take 1 pic] seems to create a decent image.
The crappy camera is the main criticism of this phone. It's really that bad.
Hi all
when i take picture of my yard in bright sunlight, when i open the camera app and choose the HDR+on/HDR+enhance with autofocus, the yard in the camera screen is over-exposure, and when i take with HDR+on/HDR+enhance it doesnt change any thing when i saw in the camera screen, it quite strange, because i thought that function should process the over/under-exposure to keep the best detail, highlight and make the picture as real as it can ? what do i miss ?
and one more thing
when i tap the screen to focus to the sky, all around object and bright become darker and when i tap to the yard the bright around is brighter but the sky is lost detail of cloud and the building, it's normal ?
sorry cause i'm newbie with google pixel
Note: i post my isssue to topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3-xl/how-to/share-pictures-pixel-3-xl-t3854033/page12, but i think it would be better if i make new seperatelly topic
test new night mode in daylight condition, works fine for me.

Yes, nightsight would be better than in daylight but if so why do we need HDR function ?
hi all,
i have another picture with my yard
that when i tap focus on the sky to keep the detail of the building and the sky, the yard is more darker, i dont see any advantage when using HDR function on this camera ?
