So I wasn't paying attention and I flashed a rom for the M9 instead of the A9. It got stuck in a bootloop, I realized what happened, wiped & formatted and flashed correct rom. Still stuck in bootloop though recovery and bootloader are accessible. I tried and RUU and got the signature error saying it couldn't update and I need the correct one. It was trying to go from image version 1.10.502.3 to 3.38.502.17. Any ideas? ANY suggestions would be appreciated.

I mean this one:

I haven't tried that exact one. I'm downloading it now. Is my CID not right for the A9? I've been trying to figure out how to change it to supercid but i need s-off and i can't figure out how to do that without booting to os. I'll let you know how flashing the ruu you linked goes in a few minutes.

If you were trying to update, something went wrong.
I recommend that you (re)download and flash this from the RUU collection thread:
1.27.502.5
AT&T (Cingular)
modelid: 2PQ912000
cidnum: CWS__001
Download: http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_H...1.27.502.5.exe
Ah got you I think you want to flash RUUfile.zip in recovery.
Thats not correct and won´t work.
You have to flash this in RUU or Download Mode.
You can also download RUU from CSnowRules post it has a UI and you can easy apply it.
I think it´s easiest way.
Ohter way is you rename downloaded RUU.zip to 2PQ9IMG.zip put it on your Sd card boot to download mode
and flash it from there.

This one worked!!! OMG thank you so much!! I've tried a bunch and was losing hope in the ruu working. I don't know what was different about this one but it worked! THANKS!!! my phone actually boots now lol So can I just flash a rom for the a9 over this? Do I need to do anything special?
I can't believe I made such a stupid mistake. Thanks to everyone who helped me fix it! You guys are awesome!

There's no need to do anything special. You can s-off and convert to unlocked by following the instructions in the conversion thread.
Please remember to read carefully and double-check everything before doing anything. A mistake like this one would most likely turn your phone into a luxury paperweight once you're s-off.
Hi, I have an issue, I'm trying to RUU my HTC one A9 but I get error 120, it says I have to charge battery to 30%, but it's fully charged. It gives same error even if phone isn't connected to computer. Any suggestions? Thanks

I'm confused, are you trying to RUU an M7 or an A9?
Also, are you using a .Zip or.exe RUU?

- There's option at the bottom of your first post to Edit it. Your serial/IMEI can be used for dangerous purposes.
- Refer to This Post to find the correct OTA.zip.
- To install the OTA.zip, there are a few steps to be done. What was the last ROM you installed? Did you update to JellyBean via OTA?

Sorry for my weird typos. I was half asleep while I was typing that. I realized it now.
That's the correct OTA you download. It is in the form of a zip file correct?
You can flash that OTA with the help of the method stated in my signature

Lol man I can't stop laughing at my typos. And the subsequent question asked by you hahaha

But this method has worked for many people. Two of them reported yesterday.
at 10th step I had already given that you shouldn't flash firmware if you had already updated to jellybean.
But I seriously am think what could have could have caused the brick as the OTA matches with your firmware.
Did you do SuperCID?
Try VolDown+Power Button to go into bootloader.

yes done it twice
thing is
after it said done in command prompt, the green progressbar wouldn't leave, i mean it was stuck at the green progress bar
the thing is, i waited for a while for it to finish, a lil bit was left at the end in the progressbar, but it said done in command prompt
so after a lot of waiting, i just hard reset it, but after that the phone is not booting into bootloader and not responding at all
what is happening?

Hi,
A couple of weeks ago I got a new HTC One M8 Verizon from amazon. I bought it cause I wanted to covert it to GPE. After looking for some tutorials I decided to try the one described in this youtube video:
" How To: Convert HTC One M8 to Google Play Edition (5.0.1 Lollipop) with OTA Updates! " from MaowDroid - Since I'm a new user I can't post links, so I posted the video full name so you can look for it.
Later on I discovered I missed the " GSM Device (Not Sprint or Verizon) " legend in the video description. Very stupid of me! Anyway, everything went smooth until I flashed the image, then after restarting the device nothing happened and all I can do is to turn off the phone. If I choose HBOOT -> Recovery, the phone restarts. Same thing happens if I choose HBOOT -> Factory Reset.
Besides this video was not for my verizon device... I'm almost sure my second mistake was not to update the firmware before doing the whole process.. changing CID, ModelID and flashing the GPE image. I've been looking how to fix this but since I can't boot the OS I haven't been able to change the ModelID or CID, so whenever I've tried to flash a different image I get an error that says something about incorrect values, which from what I've learned in this process, its because those images are for different ModelID and CID values.
After that I asked for help in Android Forums ( http ://androidforums.com/threads/htc-one-m8-tried-to-convert-to-gpe-stuck-in-fastboot.931142/ ), where EarlyMon is being really nice and tried to help me resolve this issue. However it seems my problem is more difficult, so he suggested me to ask here so that we get more opinions to avoid making a fatal mistake. In summary, EarlyMon asked me to
1. flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-m8.img
2. Mount and Install ViperOneM8 4.3.0
Which I tried but at the end I get a Status 7 Error
-- Delete the spaces between "http:" and "//" --
http ://s13.postimg.org/4ktywhmzr/htconem8_Viper_One_M8_Error_Status7.jpg
Can you help me go to GPE or at least to Sense?
Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You can boot to hboot correct? First change CID back to Verizon, you can do this in hboot (bootloader)
fastboot devices (your device should be listed)
fastboot oem writecid VZW__001 (2 underscores)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then try flashing the Verizon RUU

Hi,
I just tried the 5.0.1 RUU.
First I changed the CID as instructed.
Then I renamed and copied the zip file to the SD as suggested in the ROM instructions.
Rebooted and choosed HBOOT, the ROM is detected but, after a few minutes I get a " Update Fail! " error.

Honestly not too sure, hopefully someone more information than myself can chime in. Keep in mind this is just what I'd do. Anything you choose to do with your device is your choice.
maybe try changing cid to supercid
i think supercid will fix it

Nicely done, magic.
Hello U11 users,
First, sorry for my bad English...
I think I've messed my U11 up. I've flashed Lineage OS 15 on my phone(bootloader unlocked), after that I've booted into download mode and relock the bootloader. Now my phone cannot boot, only can go to downloa mode and RUU mode.
So my phone is messed up now, I think RUU is my last bet before send it to repair. I cannot find the correct RUU version for my phone in the RUU collection thread, so just want to know anybody in this forum has a RUU for my model?
Here's 'fastboot getvar all'
Code:
(bootloader) kernel: lk
(bootloader) product: htc_ocndugl
(bootloader) version: 1.0
(bootloader) max-download-size: 2399200000

Edit; Just realized the link i posted was for the wrong RUU. Sorry. Ill update when i find the correct one for you.
Did you by chance change the cid number? HTC__622 comes back to the dual sim version from India.
Looks like the correct cid for your phone should be HTC__621 if it is indeed an Asia model. i may be wrong but thats what i can find so far with your info.

I would say try the India Model RUU for your phone first since thats what is in your phone info you've provided. i'm not an expert on this stuff by far but i do what i can. I've got a Dual Sim Model 128 gb model i'm using now that was from Taiwan originally. I believe it came with the Asian stock software but i changed the firmware to the European model shortly after i got S-Off. Good luck. :good:

Run the RUU program. Let the phone take the OTA updates. After they are completed you should be back to Firmware version 2.42.400.6.
Or you could download the OTA's manually if you dont want to wait for that of course.

Can I flash a lower version RUU without adb to it and change the system version partition?

As far as I know you should be able to flash the lower version RUU without any issues. I don't believe there is a stand alone version of the RUU that doesn't require adb. You can flash it from an sd card though. I'll post a link with a guide on how to do it.

But it don't work for me neither flashing RUU by fastboot nor sdcard...
I'll send it to HTC service center if they want to help me...:crying:
I'm very happy with HTC's policy and warranty service, they only used 30mins to unbrick my device without charges:angel:

It flashed fine, phone turned on, but there were no cellular signals or wifi after reboot, phone doesnt shows it imei in system nor does it shows baseband version.
so far i have tried flashing a proper 2pyb20000 ruu zip, formating the persist partion, then directly rebooting to download mode and reflashing the ruu. but the issue stayed the same.

Please help. I installed my twrp backup and now the sound, video playback, and the home/fingerprint sensor don't work. I guess it didn't backup right, to begin with. I really don't know. I'm new to this stuff, but its fun when it works. It's really kinda sad when it doesn't. My Mom just gave me this phone because it needed the screen replaced, but was in perfect condition otherwise and I really don't want her to know I wrecked it. I've been looking for days for a download. I pretty much understand the concept of how to make it work if I had the download. I have adb installed and working and the phone is detected.

I don't know what you are trying to do...
Just rename the file to 2PYBIMG, place in a formated fat32 microSD card, then after inserted the card to phone reboot to download mode. It will update it self!
No matter what I do it says the file is corrupt. Am I doing something wrong? I named it 2PYBIMG.zip and added it to my card but it doesn't start when I boot into download mode. I tried flashing it with twrp and it says it's corrupted.

You have TWRP, so bootloader unlocked... then, you need to lock it! You can only do this if you have security off, which is not the case here!
- fastboot oem lock ( this will relock the bootloader );
- fastboot oem rebootRUU ( switch the state to update firmware trough USB );
- fastboot flash zip 2PYBIMG.zip.
You need to verify if you don't have ex: 2PYBIMG.zip ( if that is the case, just select the file press F2 and rename it again to 2PYBIMG ).

Also, your download would not unzip, but I found the file somewhere else and bought it and it unzipped ok so I think your file is corrupted somehow. If anyone needs the file I can upload it sometime, my internet is pretty slow so I'm not sure when. But if someone sees this and needs it let me know. I'm just totally at a loss here with my phone though.

Well... this is difficult because you don't compreend some basic functions. I recomend that you search purhaps youtube or read some more on some forum. Because I alredy sent the correct file! You only need to do the steps correctly to get back the phone again.
Please, don't repost the same issue on the thread. Just send me a private message, I will respond through there.

Thank you.
If possible could someone provide me with links so I can try another DSP, RADIO, Bluetooth TWRP backup.
DSP is showing as UNKNOWN on the Fastboot download screen.
Oreo_WWE_Single_and_Dual_SIM_Radio_BT_and_DSP
Oreo_Radio_BT_DSP_TWRP_Flashable_v2_Euro
I tired these via TWRP with no luck.
Any help would be appreciated.
Try to flash the same DSP from my post - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80620553&postcount=1267

Thanks for the response, I'm stuck at the moment because I flashed a stock image from TWRP, which wiped out TWRP and root. So now I can't fastboot images at all due to the incorrect battery level.
Any ideas are welcome.
Glad this is a old phone

Try to flash RUU for your cid (2.33.401.10 for SINGLE SIM)
You will lose all data on internal card and all user applications along with the settings, so make backup before!
Go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/u11/how-to/collection-htcu-u11-ruu-firmware-t3612048
This is your RUU - https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569951433

Try to flash hosd_signed.img from this firmware (2.33.401.10 for SINGLE SIM) before ruu flash.
- In bootloader mode run in command line:
Code:
fastboot flash hosd hosd_signed.img
Then reboot in Download mode and flash ruu again.

Thanks alot, flashing the hosd fixed the incorrect battery level.
And RUU and TWRP flash now without issues.
