Custom kernel based off PJ2 firmware - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

I was hoping there was someone who would create a custom kernel similar to what the sickness did based on PJ2 firmware. Seems like development has really slowed down lately. Hopefully it'll pick back up when 7.1.1 is released for our Note 5. This is one of the best phones made so I sure hope development continues.

Actually it'd be nice for a custom kernel on PK1 firmware now. Just hoping someone will build 1.

Lollipop roms

I read a few article stating the LG g3 will be releasing lollipop before the year is over... It also stated that it would be the LG version of lollipop and then att will have to test and change it to their version and that can take a few months... So my question is if we will be able to flash the universal version before att get their hands on it or will we have to wait till att modifies it for the D850

we will likely get it way before ATT releases it. Someone will mod the international rom for ATT.

I really hope so cuz that would be great... To have lollipop before Samsung and many others will make me feel like I definitely made the right choice!

Short answer, no one knows. We don't even have aosp Roms yet so to think about even speculate on a time frame for an unreleased android version is stupid. We'll get it at some point. Just be happy we've finally got roms

I guess u must have not fully understood the question... I was not asking for a time frame or when will we have lollipop... The question was if it is possible to take the LG update that they send to unlocked carrier phones and modify it for our att phone... Or will we have to wait for an att update and modify that... Different question

Short answer: an int'l version will be ported before you see an official ATT release.

Will rooting with stump make it impossible to accept an ota upgrade when lollipop is released? I remember with my galaxy nexus, it was changing the bootloader that did that.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Rumor has it that it will be harder to get around the bootloader situation with L. My suggestion is to NOT take the ota and just flash what ever L Rom is ported if you want to keep root. At least until the devs figure out the new features on android L.
Plus, being on AT&T, we wouldn't see an ota until well after everyone else Lmao.

Cm12!!!
I have loaded CM12 on my "burner" G3 a few times (updating every night.) It is quite flaky, but it is good to see progress being made. RIght now the issue with CM12 is that one of the cores gets stuck at 100% (some say due to an NFC issue) and sucks your battery dry.

5.0 Lollipop

Any Developers or people who's working or done with the lollipop 5.0 rom for infuse? I just want to experience the new material design.
They have said once beanstalk is ported they'd give it a go.

I'm working on it, could be interesting if we can use this kernel on our device
https://github.com/hak86/android_kernel_samsung_aries
since infuse has 2.6 kernel and required a lot of changes to make lollipop
I am unsure about specs but you might visit the Samsung Galaxy player 4.0 and 5.0 forums, they are at least same gen devices and I saw lollipop is built on it.

Any progess?
Is there any progress on Lollipop for the Infuse? Still using mine. Thanks.
Lollipop is a ram eater. I tried it on the razrm and it didn't go well. Wound up reverting to kitkat. I'm sorry but at some point even if you can, you shouldn't and I think all devs are realizing this.

I think people should just run the latest that's available, or get a new phone. A Moto E is 3 times the phone the Infuse is, and can be had for $30 if you buy it at the right time. Plus it runs Lollipop out of the box. Methinks trying to run 5.0 on a 4 yr old device is near impossible.

Hell i haven't seriously used my Infuse in over 2 years, i just like to see just how much it can handle, I was a bit surprised when it took KK. Now just waiting to see if it can handle Lollipop.

Software Version: Android 6.0 "Marshmallow"
T-Mobile and the device manufacturer have agreed to support a new software update.

There you go. Now here's the thing. You must be new to T-Mobile and the modding community. Older devices get updates to new OS last. We have an older device. We don't take priority.

Enjoy your capped data and over priced service. Be happy you're getting it in the first place. Lots of devices get left behind by both Samsung and T-Mobile. Plus T-Mobile always gets the best hardware base.

Waiting is Over for Marshmellow my fellow...
The Marshmallow update is out, but you cannot download it because its size is bigger than 2 GB! And it asks for premium membership purchase!
So I ask you my fellow awaiters, could someone please download it somehow and provide another link for us poor people.
Gdrive or torrent if not something even better.
Thank you.

I wouldnt mind buying the premium and downloading it if i thought someone here would make a custom rom out of it but looking at all of the options we've had in the last couple of years im not optimistic.

No no, I meant while downloading it from Samsung-updates.com it asks for premium purchase. And I went there because I can't download the firmware from Sammobile.com..
So if you succeed man, would you please provide me a link to download it from some other resumable source..
Thank you..
You guys can use SamFirm to download the LATEST firmware with full download speed and pause option, about the "new" 6.0.1, i get some lags and i'm thinking seriously to go back for 5.1.1

Downgrading to Marshmallow?

Hey mates,
Please hold your horses and hear me out!
Until we get a working Xposed, I would prefer to rock marshmallow for a few modules that I like.
Is there an available ROM or stock image that I can use for that purpose? I know I may have to wait for stable TWRP as well.
Planning to install that on a Verizon pixel, although will likely use it on T-Mobile network.
Thanks!

Pixel came with Android N. I *very* much doubt if anyone will invest time to bring to Android M on it
There will never be Marshmallow for this phone.

This is a true statement. I've never seen a rom for a phone that pre-dates the OS that the phone was released for.
