Fastboot: Stuck at "waiting for device"

Hi all,
today I wanted to install Andromadus in my Desire S. I have to do the whole thing and was looking forward to use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2088385 for it. Sadly I am stuck at "waiting for device" when I am trying to get the TokenID via this tool.
So instead, I did the whole run as described on HTCdev. The following was done:
1. Installed Android SDK
2. Installed Google USB Driver
3. Installed HTCSync including HTC BMP USB Driver and HTC Driver Installer
4. Deinstalled (only!) HTC Sync
5. Activate USB Debugging (as suggested in some threads I have found)
6. Remove battery
7. Boot into Hboot
8. Select Fastboot
9. Connected Desire S via USB cabel (Fastboot USB in red visible)
10. Started cmd with adminstrator privileges
11. Executed "fastboot oem get_identifier_token"
12: *see Screenshot below*
I figure, that in the end I did exactly the same as hasoon2000's tool was and was stopped at the same point. I just wanted to make sure that it was not the tool that caused the troubles... I also tried different versions of fastboot.exe. The one provided by hasoon2000 and the one suggested on htcdev from the android-sdk_r13-windows.zip.
I do not have an idea how to go on. Does anyone know?
Just to add some specs:
- Desire S
- Android 4 RUU by HTC
- HBOOT 2.02.0002
- Windows 7 64Bit
Help anyone?
Cheers!
Today, I had some more time to play around with my problem... and was able to get the TokenID.
Solution: Tried different USB ports. This works at my USB 2.0 port, the other was a 3.0.
I will go on now, hopefully, everything will work out fine.
Everything worked out fine.
Thanks much for all the efforts people are doing to run such an awesome community!
I didn't see this post when it first went up, but problems using USB v3 ports are fairly common and fairly well-known.
Well, since I started with all the CustomROM stuff three day ago, I did not know. And even after 80 views of this thread nobody told me.
But now I know.
Another good thing about this: I pushed myself and tried everything by hand instead of using hasoon2000's tool. Thats great actually. Better than pressing some buttons.
No offence to hasoon2000's tool, that great, but sometimes duing such stuff on your own is more fun. Just like setting and building a Desktop PC on your own, istead of buying on in a store.

i replied becuase sure there will be ppl visiting this QA thread . man this works for me every time . and specially wit windows 8 .
pay attention that u should boot phone to android and then install PDA last version and turn the debugging mode . and then it will ask on your phone that always alow this computer use pda on phone and u says yes . in nexus when u open bootloader on phone , phone will be recognize by windows ( green check icon in system try appear ) showing windows know your device in boot loader screen . then u can proceed with ADB command . maybe bootloader of htc is a hard ass one like LG phone that is pain in ass to unlock .
then when i finished . u should boot in bootloader . maybe its not working with HTC but sure works with nexus devices . it pity didnt worked for u . hope it help ppl who read this later . u should get a nexus 5 man . its cheap and amazing

If you have a USB 3.0 only, also you have the ability to run Linux from a USB stick.
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/
In case this is helpfull: I got the same issue on Windows 10 :
Desire S, HTC Sync Manage installed ("adb devices" is working), but not way to make work the "fastboot devices".
And I have only USB3.
And finaly I found one topic providing the solution for me: set a registry key...
Write the following in a .reg file:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\usbflags\0BB40FF00100]
"SkipBOSDescriptorQuery"=hex:01,00,00,00
Launch regedit in administrator mode, import the reg file. Reboot, and that's all !!

So I installed PDA on windows 10 and on Phone apk.
No what ?
It makes connection between phone and computer. I already have this. If i type in ".\adb reboot bootloader" it will load bootloader. from there .\fastboot flash recovery recovery.img , it wont do anything Waiting for device.
PDa only works when you are in the Android OS,not Bootloader. It makes connection between the os's windows + Android.
WHat I am trying to do is install an update to my Asus Zenfone 3. I have TWRP it wont work with hat.I need stock rom. I have it. I cant install it,reason: waiting for device.
I did this many times, but its never easy, its always luck or God knows what.
What I do is, install stock recovery (not twrp). With stock recovery I install official updated ROM 8.01. and then get back TWRP. You need TWRP to flash SuperSu so you can have root.
I did this before with 7.0.1 .....now I cant get this stock recovery...waiting for device. It only listens to the first command, after it goes int Fastreovery or whatever it is...it wont go to the next command.

[Q] Android L froze and stuck at google logo on nexus 5

I am in need of assistance as my Nexus 5 running Android L recently froze up on me at the lock screen. Not being able to unlock it, i restarted the device only to find it stuck at the Google logo. I figured i could just reflash the phone to stock android 4.4.4 via fastboot, but when connected to my pc in bootloader mode, it isnt recognized as Nexus 5, rather as Android Device. I deleted the drivers and re-installed them but no such luck, i ran out of options. I searched some threads and couldn't find a solution to my problem, so i was hoping to get some help. I'm still kind of a noob with this kind of stuff, so please excuse me if this doesn't make any sense. Is there anything else i can try?
Use proper drivers...
Or simply use a different pc

[Completed] [Q] Please Help with LG-G2 LG-VS980

Long story short .. I tried to install TWRP with Goomanager from the play store. It ask for model of the phone and gave a list to chose from. In the list I chose LG-G2x. ( I thought the x meant that choice would work for any LG-G2 ) then it said it needed to change /dev/block/******* ( I don't remember all of it). I said ok and it did it's thing , when it was done it said I needed to reboot the phone so I did. That was the last time the phone booted ( or I should say the first time it didn't). The phone now will not boot to any mode, no download mode , no recovery mode. No logo on boot but the backlight does turn on. If I plug it into a windows PC I get many pop-ups asking to format drives ( I did not format them) and one readable drive with a folder called image. If I plug it into a Linux PC, Linux see's 36 partitions and tries to mount them and fails on all but 8 or so. windows see's the phone in device manager as qhsusb_bulk so I tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 with no luck. I can flash the phone in Linux but nothing in the thread helped ( or harmed I think ) , So I do think it can be repaired if I knew just what partitions to flash with what. Any help you can point me to would be great ... thank you

That sounds like hard-brick .... and that's really bad.
You should have checked this thread about TWRP recovery for your device: [RECOVERY][G2] TWRP 2.8.3.0 touch recovery [2014-12-22].
There it's written to use TWRP Manager app from Play store ... not Goomanager like you did.
And I am not sure that your LG-VS980 is compatible with supported the LG G2 variant.
Anyway ... if you can't boot neither into download mode nor into recovery mode, there is not much you can do yourself.
You can check this thread: [GUIDE] INSTALLING TWRP on LGG2 (VZW, AT&T, TMobile, KT, d802, others) [UPDATED].
If nothing helps, you may have to go to a service center and ask for a repair/replacement.
all better
After reading the two links you posted I gave up and paid someone to fix it .. they did it over team viewer it was very fast and cheap... thank you for the help

[Completed] HELP!!!! I can't transfer files to my Moto G (XT1034) via USB (No OS runnning)

Lately i ve been having issues transfering files via USB to my Moto G 1st Gen (XT1034), so i looked through the web and i found out that if i changed my rom maybe i could fix it, so i decided to update my Moto G to Android 5.0 using Cyanogenmod 12, but i accidentally flashed a cwm version built for 2nd Gen Moto G and installed a rom built for 2nd Gen too that i had previously downloaded. After flashing and installing the rom it just bootlooped and now i cant transfer a Moto G 1st Gen rom to fix it!!! I ve tryed adb but i got "error: device not found", i ve also tryed manually installing those android USB drivers from a youtube video (Called How to Copy Files Over to your Android In a Bootloop with No OS using ADB!) but when i select the inf file i get a message telling me that those drivers are not supported on my 64 bit system.
Help me please im freaking out.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It sounds to me like you need to return your device to stock at this point. See if this helps, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219 Check Motorola's web sit to see if you can find the firmware there. If not, see if anyone here can help, http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help Just make sure the firmware you download is for your specific model number.
Don't forget to register on XDA to ask questions in that forum.
Good luck!

Thank you for replying. I ve already checked that, but i didnt tryed it because the files were uploaded to filefactory and it would take 2 hours to download the file, but it guess i ll just have to wait for it. My biggest problem is that adb isnt recognizing my device and i dont know how to fix it.
OK, try this. With your device connect to you PC via USB go into device manager. Do you see an icon with a yellow exclamation mark? If so right click and go to where it lets you chose from a driver from a list on your computer. Chose the Android composite ADB interface,
