How to enable Professional mode in stock camera app ? - Moto Maxx Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Is there any way to enable professional mode in stock camera app ?
Can I download the g4 plus stick camera app & use in Turbo ?
I need manual control for ISO & Shutter Speed.
I have tried some apps from play store but cannot control ISO.
I guess it's disabled on software level.
Someone with knowledge please help.
Thanks.

Hey man!
AFAIK, isn't possible to have manual controls on Quark.
Someone told me isn't possible in hardware level, but I don't know... Still have doubts.
I too, would love to have manual controls of 21MP

No manual controls in a flagship phone is not acceptable.
Even the entry level phones have ISO control.
Hope it's just on the software level.

I know on the Turbo (XT1254) the Moto app has an exposure adjustment capability. It's not ISO/aperture, but it's not too bad. I don't know if this is hardware-based or software-based adjustment, but it gets you some control. I don't know if this app works on the Maxx.

Hey Man,
Turbo/Maxx has that exposure control.
But does not support the professional mode which has been bought in the new Moto G4 & G4 plus.

Camera app for S4

Hello, sorry if this in the wrong subforum, but I wanted to ask, is there an camera app for S4 which lets you take manual control over the camera?
I mean stuff like shutterspeed, aperature etc.
I think the S4 camera has much potential then the default camera app shows it to have.
Also, would like manual control over the video mode.

There isnt but you can give a try a few good ones,
-Camera fv-5
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.pro
-Snap Camera HDR
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marginz.snap
-DSLR
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.vipek.camera
the closest one for what your looking for it is Camera-Fv5 but i recommend all of them.
Hope this helps. Cheers!
The aperture is fixed at 2.2 anyway

Camera app with manual focusing?

I've been looking for an app with real manual focus but I can't find any, I've tried FV-5 and couple others but none of them have actual manual focusing. I'm not looking for touch focus where you select the object you want to be manually focused, I want an app with some kind of slider where I can just manually focus like using a professional camera where you spin the lens to adjust the focus your-self. Anyone knows any app that have this option?
Thanks!

Smartphones cameras are very limited. If you are looking for a professional focus; better buy a professional camera.

How come? Whats the difference between auto focus and manual focus? Auto focus just runs an algorithm that selects best focus it could find, I don't see a reason why you couldn't set this manually as a simple variable.

Because the apps themselves don't control the focus, the system does

Camera API doesn't allow for manual focus. That's all there is to it.
what about camera API 2.0? they are supposed to release controls for a lot of functions

Possibly but I doubt it.
L will provide.
Many of the finer control configurations can also be modified, including:
Exposure time
ISO Sensitivity
Frame duration
Lens focus distance
Flash trigger
Color correction matrix
JPEG metadata
Tonemap curve
Crop region
AE / AF / AWB mode
AE / AWB lock
AF trigger
Precapture AE trigger
Metering regions
Exposure compensation
Target FPS range
Capture intent
Video stabilization
AFAIK there is no third party camera app with those function supported on N5,I mean at least ISO/exposure manual setting like other phone did. hope it availble on L

Manual focusing function is available on some Chinese phones. Seems that if you use camera360 and your cellphone supports manual focusing, camera360 will provide this option. Unfortunately I've used MI2 (manufactured by xiaomi), and Nexus5, neither of them seems to support this function.
Time for someone to make this
It'd be awesome. Imagine all those bokeh pics with our Nexus 5

i dont really understand what youre trying to ask. you want an app to "manually" focus, but you dont want to touch to focus on a specific object? youre comparing hardware vs software when youre saying "using a professional camera where you spin the lens focus ring to focus"? . tapping on the screen to select a specific object to focus is technically in your term 'manual' focus. our phones dont have a dedicated hardware knob/switch for such control.
are you looking for something to take photos or shoot videos? if youre talking about photos, google camera already have this feature to select to focus.
I've got focus control via volume keys on standard camera. Think it's due to an xposed module I downloaded. It's a while back but works great. Used it an hour ago

thats not a focus control. thats focusing on the background or foreground. and you can do that without a setting control, if you know how. manual focus is like on a real camera, where you spin the lens until youre focused on what you want.

Handy for some types of photography where you know where the action will take place - things like sports and weddings spring to mind.
You know that the player/bride/whatever will be at a specific location, and you don't want your camera wasting time trying to focus when you know you'll only get one shot.
That feature is available in Lumia phones as well. The manual focus really helps when you want to focus some objects which are very close to the camera. Auto focus and tapping on the object will focus the nearby object for a split second but again it will go out of focus. Manual focus will help in capturing macro images of such objects. I am also looking for such a feature in many camera apps, but could not find it. Hope someone creates an app

I had success with GoogleCamera_6.1.021_Potter_v1-san1ty.apk, default settings.
Please post and share link of Motorola One camera apk.
This one is OK for me (Pie).
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GCam_Pixel3Mod_1.3_build.6.1.021.apk
It works pretty well.
Not working:
- HDR off
- HDR+ advanced sometimes gives unrealistic colors
- slow motion makes the app crashes
- motion photo works in 16:9 only
- photo sphere seems to break the orientation

Hey guys! I'm considering getting this phone for my wife, so I'm wondering if the HAL3 is enabled by default like on Nokia phones (and if yes on what level) or it needs to be enabled via adb?

You don't need to enable anything: Moto One has the maximum level of hw support for camera2 api.
See attached "Camera2 probe" screenshot.

I forgot to mention that time exposure is limited to 1/3s (the Nokia one is up to 4s, I presume).
The lack of optical (or even digital) stabilization, further limits the usable range of time exposure, unless you use a tripod...

Hi everyone,
Which (stable) version of Google camera can be used on moto one stock pie?
Thanks.
I am currently using this:
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.5.190418.1850.apk
I tried several versions and this one is good enough (the best I have found, in my opinion). Slow motion even works.
Main bugs:
- no Google lens menu
- poor quality audio
- WB not working.
If you decide to go for this one, the first time you'll open it you have to select the shortcut "take a selfie". The following times, you can simply tap the icon, as usual.

Full pro mode for camera!!

IT'S JUST A GOOD USE OF MOST USED CAMERA2 API MOD...
Hello guys,I just wanna share my idea of getting full pro mode on whyred as I read a few post demanding this thing,so at starting I assume that u guys have camera2 API in u'r pockets then u need to install OnePlus camera app ,i'm just dropping link for u:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-camera/oneplus-camera-2-10-5-release/
See, don't expect much from this app rather than pro mode working fine.
Below I am providing pics from miui camera and OnePlus camera app with max shutter speed of both in dark.
You will get max shutter limit of 30s which in miui camera is limited to 1/4s only along with all manual mods in this.
And if u know this please don't make any fun here..!!

Sorry to be the one with the obvious answer you can't have 30 sec shutter speed on any camera irrespective of what it shows in the camera app it's a driver limitation.

But still it captures way better images at that as compared to miui's camera manual mode,so I used to share it with others.
Maybe it takes better photos... but, your title is misleading.
...And, there is a thread for Shutter speed limit and, I think, someone has point out for a similar app, that the problem, no matter what the app says it does, is the library.
If we don't modify/alter/change the library, no full PRO mode for RN5 and it's simbling RN5 AI Dual.
So, I suggest, it's time for you to go and check the thread.
Myself is going to do just that, because I have more than a few days to check and, who knows, hopefully someone has already solve the issue!!!
This app takes much better photos, but the shutter speed is still capped at 0.7sec. You would need to change libmmcam[sensorpackage].so in /vendor/lib and vendor/lib64
I believe there's already a modified library file for Global variant.

Question Camera Port or alternative

Hey folks,
is there any chance to port the camera app from the Vivo Pro series? Or does anyone know a very good alternative?
The Pixels camera app is quite simple and i didn't find any good solution so far.

What exactly are you looking for in a camera app that Pixel doesn't have?
There is a chance for a camera port, will it happen? I doubt anyone will bother porting a camera app from another OEM TO A PIXEL device. lol
Did you ever had a chance to use a vivo camera app? I like that handling very much. It also has some features, that even the gcam apps dont have. Like Showing the level, or different panarama modes etc. Adding live LUT filter is also very handy...
