Galaxy J7 2016 (SM-J710FN) cm.bin fail - General Questions and Answers

Hello
I have gotten a Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 (SM-J710FN) from Germany market, then I rooted it successfully using (SM-J710F-NODMV.tar ) , but I was unable to access play store, so I tried to clear the cash but accidentally I wiped everything !
I tried to flash it:
I searched for the Firmware on Sammobile and I only found 2 region versions of it ( France + India), so I downloaded France version and used Odin 3 but I get this error:
Fail ODIN ERROR: cm.bin fail ( FLASH WRITE FAILURE)
Device: System rev. check fail device: 1 binary 0
I tried also to use smart switch (and Kies3) for Emergency Recovery but it gives:
Device is unsupported !
Is this related to Firmware incompatibility ?
please help to get my mobile phone up.

Any help please.

Have you gone to samsung-updates .com and searched there using your model number and region?

CSC and PDA Numbers of N8000 Model

Hi,
My tablet (Samsung GT-N8000) is stuck in a boot loop and I am not able to get any information such as PDA and CSC of my device. Is there a way to get this information from the serial number or the IMEI number?
I bought my device in Italy however none of the available firmware on SAMMOBILE for Italy works with my device. So I think I should look somewhere else but since I do not have both PDA and CSC information it will be difficult to just download and try.
Thanks for the help.
Any firmware for EU countries should work .
What do you actually mean by does not work ??

What I mean by it does not work is that I get stuck in "Nand write operation" using odin v3.09 while flashing a firmware from Europe and after a while I get fail message.
Goggle < "Nand write operation failed >
Nand is the internal memory that may have failed .

MAX 404 - Do you have the UK EE firmware - I need to install it without impacting the data on the phone ? I tried to root the device via ODIN and have ended up with a ROM issue.

You don't need to hustle for the firmware. Simply download the firmware you need (EE is the Samsung CSC "EVR"). Search Google for the tool "Sanfirm" (note the spelling), and use it to download EVR. You will need Odin to install it (I suggest Odin3-v3.14.4).

hi mate
Is been a while since i had an S7 , it should be fine , only possible problem would be like a carrier specific service related to your country CSC and the firmware CSC but the risk is minimal
You can flash any rom for the G930F and preserve your data , just use HOME-CSC instead of the CSC file , if you use CSC file it will reset your phone
Thanks nice one

Thanks Driodrat
I have pulled the EVR version from sammobile - latest EVR and ODIN.
I flashed it but it has failed multiple times.
I am getting the Verification failed error on loading.
Any advice?

Sanfirm (my suggestion) downloads the firmware from Samsung servers directly. Sammobile is a 3rd-party service. While it is unlikely that your Sammobile firmware download is corrupt, it could be.
Do a Google (or whatever) search on "odin verification failed error". There are plenty of results to help you work through the issue. It is not an issue that I have faced personally.

Flashing stock rom with odin / sw rev. fail

Hi, I recently tried to get my phone unlocked. I watched the guy do it, he flashed an older modem and then flashed a UAE firmware.
My original is O2 UK, and I'd like to revert to this firmware as the About Device section shows up with Unted Arab Emirates and the mobile networks section shows LTE rather than 4G.
I have tried flashing the latest revision of the O2 stock rom and odin fails attempting to write sboot.bin with the error message SW Rev. fail (I don't recall the exact numbers after this) appearing on the phone.
I am guessing this is the secure boot loader, which I am aware you can't downgrade, but is there any way of flashing this stock rom since I know it is compatible with the phone?
Try to flash G920FXXU5DQA7 (CSC code:BTU)

You could possibly use smartswitch if you have the serial number of the phone which would download the default firmware that the phone came with if odin fails again
Yes i agree, smartswitch could be your best option.
Thanks for the suggestions. Tried Smart Switch, same error. It appears on the phone as sw rev. check fail.
What exactly is the problem here? Is it that the installed firmware has a newer bootloader than the most recent O2 firmware? In which case is there any way around it?

Yeah looks like this is a bootloader issue, it won't let you install a firmware which contains an older bootloader, only thing I can is to download the latest non branded UK firmware and see if that flashes.
I'm getting this error too with Device 4 Binary 3 but i didn't find the right firmware yet
I hope in Nougat release

Sammobile is under maintenance right now and there are no mirrors reasonably fast... 8 hours for a download.
Anyway update is coming these weeks, I'll wait

As @sofir786 said, you can use SamFirm;

When you open it, set the settings like this;

Samsung updated their bootloaders to 4XX in September/October so you cant flash back an older one or downgrade,so the only solution you have is to flash the new one which is 5XX released this year.
Flashed the latest UK revision (not the O2 branded one) and it worked

What is your model number?
What country/region are you using the device in? What carrier network is the device being used on?
You can't use g930f and g935, you can only use one of them and it has to be the same as the model number of your device, you can't use firmware from a different model number.
You need to find the newest firmware for your specific model number for your specific country/region/carrier.
