Greetings and welcome to xda. AFAIK there is no way to root the tmobile s5 without a pc but once rooted you could use an app like flashify from the playstore to install a custom recovery if you like. To root your device or install twrp for your device you need to connect your phone to the pc using a program called odin then install the SU or twrp. I know it can sound very daunting but it is a very simple process that only needs to be done once. My own preference is to install twrp then use that to install a prerooted rom
You can use this for root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2713950
or this is an excellent program if you are nervous

Does this SIM unlock the phone to use on other carriers?
Does anyone have the stock rom image for the Huawei Inspira? Mine is currently bricked and I would really appreciate it!
Any help?
Has anyone been able to SIM unlock this phone? I'm also having problems unlocking the bootloader, my phone is not recognized when I connect it in fastboot mode. Any other mode I plug it in and it's recognized, but not in fastboot mode

I am thinking about trying to root my Huawei H867G straight talk phone using the method above, but may I ask how you bricked your phone. I don't see much information about rooting this model on the internet so there isn't much support. thanks.
Also was anyone able to install CWM and if so how, Was that done after rooting and were there any problems while installing it?
Stock rom image for Huawei H867G
I found this on the Huawei website and it says this image covers these 3 models. suitable for H867G,H881C,H868C.
Still looking for more information regarding rooting this with Framaroot and installing CWM. I would love to post a link but I don't have the required 10 post to do so, and I don't want to troll 10 threads to do so. EDIT I CAN POST LINK! here is a screenshot image as an attachment. Here is the link:
http://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/search/index.htm?keywords=H867g
Open link and click on downloads.
I know this thread is old, but I just updated my above post with a link to stock Rom. But was anyone ever able to install CWM or Twrp recovery to Huawei H867G?

[Q] Rooted but no Root access

Hi every one,
I currently am using an LG G2 from tmobile (801 model). My device says its rooted but it doesnt have root access because I forgot to flash supersu binaries before i flashed the 4.4.2 version of the software. But now my custom recovery doesnt exist anymore.
I've tried using LG flash tools to flash back to 4.2. stock settings to start over but I am unable to do so for some reason. LG Flash tools isnt able to recognize my G2 in download mode. My computer is able to recognize my G2 when it is turned on though.
So is there anyway to flash a custom recovery without root access?
Or is there anyway to flash supersu binaries without a custom recovery using ADB?
I've tried trouble shooting with multiple threads and multiple downgrade methods but none of them are giving me any luck. I really want to flash a custom rom on my LG g2 and have the benefits of root access.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All you need to do is install the towelroot.apk to give instant temporary root. Then install SuperSU from the dev thread here on xda or from the play store. After installing SuperSU go to its settings and select install as a system app and reboot when finished. It might take 2 attempts before it successful (it always takes me 2 tries). Then uninstall towelroot as it's no longer required since you've gained permanent root. Now install the autorec.apk and you'll install TWRP recovery. Now that you have root and recovery and have control of your device you can customise to taste. In my case I always install busybox and a terminal emulator so I can further fine tune my system.
I hope this helps

still got issues :/

However even when i go into supersu, it keeps saying my binaries are not up to date. So i cant install anything and I cant do anything to install a custom recovery without root access.

So you have installed Towelroot, achieved root then having issues installing the SuperSU.apk this is indeed an issue. Towelroot should allow for it to be installed. When you install Towelroot do you get the warnings from the installer and Lookout that the package contains an exploit? Do you interrupt or stop it from fully installing when you see the warnings? The only thing I can think of is you are doing something wrong when installing towelroot which is prohibiting it from doing its job in gaining root.

The kernel you are referring to does not install Superuser.apk to /system/app nor some superuser files to /system/xbin. So the answer is no...unless the install package installs those files in addition to the kernel, which I did not see listed.
okay, thanks for ur answer!
but can i do this, to get root access?

It looks like it has been rooted, so it should work.
You will need a custom recovery to install it: TWRP or CWM
The [OP] of the thread provides a link to TWRP.
Make sure you do a complete backup of your current ROM using TWRP BEFORE you install the rooted ROM.

[Q] Is it possible to Flash .ZIP without root?

I have Galaxy S6 (920F) with Android Nougat.
I have managed to install TWRP Recovery on my device and it is allowing me to install .zip files. But my phone is Not ROOTED.
So my question is,
If I flash .zip(s) now that are made for my device, will it be installed successfully?
or my device will stuck on bootloop?
Well, if you are flashing some files into directories that don't require root to access, it will work.
But lets say you want to flash ported system app (like message app). It will not work, since it requires flashing into \system and that directory requires root to be accessed and modified. :good:

Broken USB connector, possible to install twrp/lineageos?

Hi,
I've got an N8013 that's on android 4.1.2. Also, the USB connector is somehow damaged so the device is not recognized by a pc. Still charges ok. I tried a different USB cable, and it appears that it is in fact the connector on the tablet that is damaged.
Anyway, I would like to get a more recent os installed (Lineage, probably), as this one is limiting the usefulness of the device.
Is there a way to install TWRP via the SD Card? The device is not rooted.
Thanks for the help.
If you have custom recovery then yes.
So is it possible to install a custom recovery on this particular tablet?
As far as I can tell I either need root access or a usb connection to do so. Assuming the usb is shot, is it still possible to root this particular tablet? I tried the ExynosAbuse apk, but it wouldn't install. I'm guessing it's for an earlier version.
Only question to answer .
Do you have a custom or stock recovery .
Custom recovery flash TWRP or a custom rom from ext sd card
.Stock recovery = fix usb port nothing can be flashed .
Other option is try rooting your tablet via kingroot.. If successful install the app called rashr then flash the .IMG of twrp
The tablet does not have a custom recovery.
Thanks for the heads-up on king root. I'll check it out.
Ok, that did the trick.
Kingroot to root the tablet.
Used root access with a terminal emulator to write TWRP to internal storage via dd.
Installed LineageOS through TWRP.
Thanks for the help
