Google fit association - Samsung Gear S3

Is there a way to associate Google for to the device...
Google fit saves all info online, hence even if we change devices it syncs everything.
I had to delete the fear app on the phone and lost all tracking info

There is no option available to sync S-Health and Google Fit.
But if you create a Samsung account and use this with S-Health, it should bring you back the data the Gear S3 has synced with your phone, when you have to re-install S-Health on the Gear S3 or on your phone even.

[Q] New Market

So did anyone else notice that the new Market has an account setting? Allows me to select different accounts. Does this finally mean that I can merge two accounts worth of apps? Family style?

Im not sure if you can merge 2 accounts, They have to have a way of preventing people from signing into a family members account and downloading apps that were bought thru said account. If not then it poses a serious problem for app developers and devs getting paid correctly. Unfortunately I dont have another account to test it on..
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
"Your application purchases are tied to your Google Account and can be installed an unlimited amount of times on any device." See:
http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=113410
It works for watching movies rented on another account, too:
http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1283330
Keep in mind you do still have to add the additional Google account(s) to the phone, meaning the device will have access to all other Google services including Gmail.
so lets say I added my gmail account to my wifes phone and downloaded all the apps I have paid for to her phone..couldnt I just delete my gmail from her phone after and her phone would still have all my apps on it?
The documentation doesn't say, but most likely yes, and it'd be real easy to test it. Just add your account, download an app, remove the account, and see what happens.
Keep in mind, though, that without the associated Google account you won't be able to update those apps -- which is an enormous downside in the long run.

I plan on just having a family account to buy apps on, and then add that to all the phones. But it use to be that it had to be the main account.. I haven't purchased any apps yet, recent iphone switcher, but now it appears to not have to be the main account... which is awesome cause google talk only worked with the main.

You can change your password to your Google account. Anyone logged into the tablet will be forced to put in the new password when they get connected to internet, so they won't be able to open the tablet in the first place. Any existing local calendar events can't be deleted though.
I can totally relate to your experience. I just lost my Samsung tablet a few weeks ago as well Stupid thief

[Q] How to backup/restore Samsung Health data between ROM flashes?

Prior to buying my Gear S3 I was a crack-flasher - always flashing new ROMs on my phone (Nexus 6). Since getting my S3, that's come to a halt because I notice the Samsung Health app does not restore data from my Samsung Account and even using Titanium Backup to backup/restore the data isn't a solution. I've noticed when I restore data through Titanium Backup, the Samsung Health app does not sync with my watch.
Anybody know of a way to do this? I'd really like to keep jumping around and experimenting with ROMs, but only if my watch can use historical data.
Go to settings of Samsung Health app, click on Samsung account and set up sync.
When you install Samsung Health on new device It should sync all data to new device.

That's the word thing. I've done all that and it backs up but doesn't seem to restore. I wonder if it restores based on device ID instead of purely the account.
When I install a new ROM, it generally creates a new device ID.

Just saw that the account is setup but auto sync wasn't enabled. I bet that's why.

Galaxy Watch track direct to Google Fit

Good evening, could anyone tell me if an app exists or even is it possible to record step/heart data directly from Tizen on Galaxy Watch to Google Fit?
I'm aware we can sync data but I need the steps to originate on Google Fit itself rather than S Health.
I ask because in the UK my health provider allows data taken from Google Fit, Fitbit, Garmin & Apple but not Samsung. When I tried to bypass this by synching data from S Health to Google Fit, the company didn't take the steps from S Health, only those that originated in Google Fit.
No idea how they identify which steps came from where but they can so I need to track directly from Galaxy into Grit.
Any ideas really are appreciated
Thanks

I presume your health provider is Vitality, because if it is I'm in the same situation as you. From my understanding from their CS\Dev team the data synced to Google Fit using Health Sync is tagged as not being originated from google fit. But it seems those that use google fit API is fine.
It's a late answer but there is an app which transfers the data recorded from your Watch and Samsung Health to Google Fit including Heart rate and floor data.
But unfortunately the app is just free2use for 7 days. Afterwards you'll have to pay (except your phone is rooted. Then a bypass is possible).
The app is called Health Sync and you can find it in the Play Store!
Hope I could help

You beat me to it. I use Health Sync as well for my work insurance. I waited until the trial ended and pay for the $0.99 six month subscription. It has been great and you can adjust how often it syncs the data.
What about MapMyRun?
What about MapMyRun? It syncs to MyFitnessPal which then syncs to Google Fit. MapMyRun is a better (I think, I'm just new) watch app than Galaxy S Health native app. And this set up would be free. I'd expect this to be API integration so maybe this works? I hope so, or I will send my Galaxy back
Health Sync is $2.99 for one time purchase. Skip the cup of coffee or bottle of water for the day if you don't have the spare change, and you'll have a great product that you'll take advantage of daily.
Health sync is the best to use. Have been using it for over a year now and have never had a problem with it. Had a missed sync here and there but it ends up fixing on the sync. Definitely just do the one time buy tho.
i use SyncMyTracks - very good
Will Health Sync even work it Samsung Health isn't installed or disabled?
The reason I'm asking is because I plan to root my Note 9 with Magisk and read that S-Health isn't working any longer if I do so.
I wouldn't care, if my steps from my Galaxy Watch are synced to Google Fit with Health Sync though.

Question Galaxy Health app for Xiaomi Phone? (Galaxy Watch 4)

Hello all, I have successfully installed the Galaxy Health Monitor app following the instructions from here (apk to the phone and to the watch) now I just need to calibrate the blood pressure. THANK YOU!
What I am struggling with is to install the actual Galaxy Health App to have all kinds of general fitness tracking (sleep etc.) on a phone app.
I have downloaded different versions of the app and I always get "parse error" when the app manager installs it and so it does not work (as it does not install).
How can I install the Galaxy Health Monitor app on Xiaomi Redmi? (The generic Galaxy Phone app works - so I can change watch faces etc. - but I am unable to get any health stats on the phone app).
Maybe I am just a dummy and its already in there somewhere? But then - where? ( We have several smart watches / fitness bands in the family: they all give detailed stats on their phone apps - while so far I get no stat whatsoever for the Galaxy 4 watch - and I do not even see where the stats should be, hence trying to use the Galaxy Health App)
Thank you for any suggestions!
Try installing "Health Platform" from Play Store (it's a Samsung app) and sync your Samsung account to it by opening the health platform settings and enabling all permissions. Do that on watch and phone.
It comes pre-installed on Samsung devices including watch but you have to sync Samsung health to it manually. Your Xaomi phone won't have it installed by default.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately there is no health platform (or other similar Samsung app) in my app store... All I see is Galaxy Wearable and that does not give me any health stats...

Thank you! It says that this app does not work on my phone. And a sideload version gives the same parse error
Just to be clear are you trying to get Samsung Health Monitor or Samsung Health? 2 different apps.
Health Monitor is only for blood pressure. Samsung Health has all the features Including sleep.
Samsung Health - Apps on Google Play
Lifestyle companion to track your fitness, weight, diet, food & sleep.
play.google.com
Samsung Health Monitor will only work on Galaxy Devices.Samsing Health should be downloadable from app store and will sync with watch.
I am looking for any app that will give me health stats on my xiaomi phone. I was able to download (sideload) samsung health monitor and blood pressure and ecg works. But I am unable to download or sideload samsung health as it is not available in the app store on my phone and sideload versions give me a parse error

Ok I just confirmed Xiaomi isn't compatible with Samsung Health Apps. There's a workaround. Install Google Fit and sync up. You can get the Google fit app on your galaxy watch too. On your phone, download Health Sync. Sync your Google fit to Samsung health and it will automatically sync your metrics between the two apps. That's the only way.
or you can just use Google fit. It provides everything health does except sleep but you can use health sync to get sleep metrics in Google fit.
Health Sync - Apps on Google Play
Sync health data between Samsung Health, Google Fit, Fitbit, Garmin and others
play.google.com
Just be sure to download Google fit activity tracker on Galaxy watch.. it can check all the sensors and step tracker.
Through that workaround all your Samsung health data will be viewable I'm the Google fit App or Samsung Health app on your watch .. it can sync data both ways.
It syncs the data in the cloud so you don't need Samsung health installed on your phone to sync data.
Ok I wrote this very confusing...
You can use the alternative Google fit by downloading Google fit activity tracker on your watch and phone. All data will sync through Google fit. Don't need health sync.
If you want to view Samsung health data from your watch on your phone, download Health sync and sync your Samsung health data TO Google fit. Your Google fit will display your Samsung health data but DONT download the Google fit activity tracker on your watch if you use health sync since you'll be using Samsung health to log data instead.
You have options using Google Fit and Health Sync is my point.
